I went to an ROC fencing tournament in Colorado. Won some and lost some. My club was there too and we all had fun fencing and hanging out in the city.
Awesome! Fencing and parkour are probably the two things I've wanted to try out the most for a while now. Imagine how unstoppable I'd be if I could learn both.
Less than you might think! The judges generally frown on abnormal fencing actions…

And that is why multiclassing isn't easy in my games, lol.

What's the concept here? Other than to have the longest, most complicated character sheet ever, I mean.
And what the heck are those languages?
The languages are some of the alternate languages provided in various settings, so useless, and the concept is that he’s a merchant who failed to deliver a big shipment and was layed off, so his name disgraces, he went off and became a bitter old hermit who studied arcane magic and meditated and befriended the animals of the woods

That might make for a fun Question of the Day Type thing...
What as a player are some of your least "well built" types of characters you've played? Or as a DM, what are some of the least "well built" characters you've had to DM for?

One of the least well built characters I ever DMed for was a Battle Master who poured all their points into both Str and Dex instead of focusing on one of them, and then chose all the maneuvers that didn’t enhance damage or trigger on a hit. The player got so frustrated at looking through her maneuvers over and over and not finding anything that was useful that she eventually gave up and stopped even looking at them, it was like she didn’t even have a subclass. It was frustrating even for me.

I am at a loss. I've run D&D games where characters are 10 year old kids, lol.
I am sure there are examples, but they would be a long time ago and were apparently not memorable to me. Likely part of the reason that I switched to the "characters first, with storylines for each in the main story" model I use these days.
Because there are all kinds of ways to make a good story about someone who isn't optimized. Far more than someone who is.
Speaking of such, I love that I read a line and popped off a list of reasons why someone would adventure other than to make money before I even knew what I was doing -- and it was a good list:
The thrill of Adventure.
To seek out New Experiences.
To boldly go where no one has gone before.
To solve a mystery.
To find love.
To gain vengeance.
To sail beyond the sunset and all the eastern stars.
To find the second star to the right, so they can keep going until dawn.
To unearth ancient civilizations.
To free the oppressed.
To defeat an evil scheme.
To explore strange new lands, to seek out new peoples, and new cultures.
To answer a question.
To save their village.
To save their family.
To save their people.
To have freedom and few responsibilities.
To see where the road leads.
To make even more money.
To build something of value.
To recover something lost.
To get high.
To get laid.
To offer something of value to their Patron.
To find a way out of this crazy world.
To find a way to stay in this wonderful world.
To test themselves against dangers.
To grow stronger.
To find new places to pan gold.
Because it is there to be done.
Imma use it in my Character book, lol.
Edit: I have to acknowledge that a lot of the reason this stuff popped into my head immediately is the "three sentence backstory" thread.

I had a Dragonborn monk who multiclassed into a divine soul sorcerer purely for roleplay reasons. He was really fun to roleplay, but he was the first character I ever made and so he wasn’t “well built” even before multclassing. I have learned not to multi class monks. At least not into sorcerers.
I have a long and storied history of making crappy characters in 3.5e. In 5e, they're all pretty reasonable. My Barbarian is probably the weakest because we're level, idk, 13 and he's not a multiclass. Barbarians suck at high levels. I also had a Monk who sucked pretty bad because it was like level 3 and Monks suck at level 3.
Question: Y'all have probably seen the new bastion thing that has come out. What do y'all think about it? Seems interesting to me, would y'all ever try to use it?

Yes, I'd use it, but on my own terms. The game doesn't give you a base when you reach level 5, I give you a base when I want you to have a base.

No, I haven’t. What’s it about?
There is this new Unearthed Arcana that came out recently. It includes modified cantrips and a part of the new Dungeon Masters guide called bastions. They seem to be bases/fortresses/businesses/etc. for the players that they can get. The bastions level up with the players and have a bunch of different features. I have only read the Dndbeyond article, not the Unearthed Arcana thing, but it looks pretty cool.
Question: Y'all have probably seen the new bastion thing that has come out. What do y'all think about it? Seems interesting to me, would y'all ever try to use it?
I literally just watched some of the UA video on it because I hadn't really been involved with anything related to the recent playtests. The idea seems appealing to me, but I haven't really read any of it, so I don't know for sure yet.

Thus far, I like the concept and some of the system around it, but I am debating hard on using it.
It makes some of the Workshop stuff I was developing out for an in house crafting system a lot easier in a lot of ways, and it ties into the "player lair" concept that I had set aside, so I like the idea a lot, and I have some value for it...
... but I would have to rewrite like tons of it. Drop the gain a magic item via bastion points (while some items can be bought, they are all consumables, and already established, and all other magic items must be found). Probably link Bastion points to Honor, Renown, and Piety (since I use them, and they make more sense to be tied to them), Add additional structures to basic facilities, expand the facility space options (it is a rule that everything work in fives, lol), tie in some of the standard "settlement features" to it for cultural reasons, expand order options, add in additional types of special facilities, tweak the pre-reqs for them, create all new Reference Books, Gardens & Greenhouses (because of the dang crafting stuff), expand the guildhall (and rewrite existing ones), tweak the Lab and menagerie options, deal with Pub and Sacristy (which require a complete rewrite), expand the Bastion Events (because there needs to be a Liege Lord function and the attendant parts of it), adjust all the prices across the board (I have a silver piece basis, and a more realistic economy system -- not realistic, just more realistic, lol), and then since I have to do all of that and more, I might as well tie it to existing skills and tools and kits, as well as the crafting system, which I could simplify even more than I have (because I was stuck on workshops and formulas) and then I might have a decent 40 page set up for them.
I really hate it when they do things like tie it to existing published world lore. Every time they do that with anything, I have to rewrite it.
If I didn't have to rewrite it, and was doing a game on FR or in Eberron or a DL thing, then I would probably use it as is. No fanfare, just another thing that can be done. It does slide pretty seamlessly into existing rules, although it does tweak the XGE crafting rules a tiny bit.
it is mostly a "gimme" for PCs, and a possible source of money pit and political maneuvering for a DM. I've already established that Grand Master (tier 4) wizards create their towers frequently in out of the way places (there are ruins of them), that Shrinewards seek to found Shrines (but I would need to tweak a rule about leaving them), and Corsairs try to found their bands, so I mean, there's a definite place for it in the new campaign. Even a potential use in one of the planned adventures, lol.
I just have a deadline!

I see a lot of poorly built or played characters - I've made some myself.
I think some of it is lack of experience. When you think what you want your character to be rather than trying to be optimal it can put you into some problems.
Dex as a dump stat is a common mistake for some people.

Either Joust or Regional Open Circuit… Take your pick!
It feels wrong to make something this bad but… I made this abomination of a character I will never play:
