Welcome to “The World's Pearl” A Bizarre Adventure!
Hello and welcome to everybody! Before we get into it, it's important to note that although this thread is part of the previous 'Adohand's Bizarre Adventures' series of threads, which were based on the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure manga and anime written by Hirohiko Araki, it can be considered entirely standalone and is not a sequel! You don’t need to have participated in any of the previous threads to join, or have any prior knowledge of Jojo’s in order to join at all, especially since the universe in which this and the previous two threads that were created contain a lot of homebrew, non-canon material. If you have any questions, you can ask here, or if you just want to discuss Jojo as a whole, you can go to The Speedwagon Foundation!
With that, let's get into the lore! The year is 1670, and if the world could be seen as an oyster, then at this time, the British Isles would be its pearl. They are a hive of art, innovation and progress, whilst still retaining ancient history and untamed wilderness. And, beneath the surface of this country, roam the bizzare, those that possess the magical powers that exist in the world. That's who you'll be playing as, and unlike previous Adohand's Bizarre Adventures threads, this thread is open world, and not story driven, so you have full license to roam and explore, roleplay and interact, and build exciting narratives or test a wide range of possible powers!
Creating Your Character Races: You can play as a regular human, who can potential have a Stand, and learn to master Spin, Plunge or Myron, or you can play as one of the Pillar Men, vampire-like, ancient beings who possess extraordinary strength and regenerative abilities, as well as the ability to absorb others. However, Pillar Men cannot have a Stand or make use of any other magical techniques that humans can, instead having to rely on their innate abilities. Due to the strength of the Pillar Men, only a certain number of people can play one at a time, so contact a mod if you want to play one!
Identity: Since this thread takes place within a separate universe to the original two Jojoverses, you are welcome to play Alternate Universe (AU) versions of existing characters. They can be a remake of a singular pre-existing character (Like Johnny Joestar) or a mix of two character concepts (Not like Josuk8, but more like Kei being thought to have inspirations from both Keicho and Jotaro). Of course, you are also always welcome to play a completely original character!
Abilities Below is a list of the abilities a character could possess. Usually a character only has one, or rarely two, though in that case it's usually a Stand and one other.
Spin: This is a mathematical and universal technique that harnesses the rotation of objects to imbue them with energy and unleashing devastating effects upon impact. It grants an extra D8 of Damage with Ranged Attacks) Plunge: This is a martial arts technique unique to the Adohand's Bizarre Adventures homebrew universe. It is rare in Britain at this time, having originated in Asia, though works by manipulating the soul to strike through living creatures and inflict extra damage on them, with the amount depending on how strong and free their soul is. It grants an extra 1d4 Necrotic damage when you make unarmed strikes, or an extra 1d8 Necrotic damage when you make an unarmed strike against a Pillar Man or Stand User. Particularly strong Plunge Users can even phase through objects, though this is reserved for the best of the best.
Myron: Myron is a magical oil unique to the Adohand's Bizarre Adventures homebrew universe, and is secreted in tiny amounts by the skin of a person. It usually has little affect, but some ancient tribes discovered a special skin-rubbing technique that not only causes the secretion of more, but stimulates the full potential of its power. It grants the user the ability to spend an action to cause a creature that they touch to recover 1d8 hit points, or can be used to deal an extra 1d8 acid damage on a hit, as it can either cause the rapid decay or growth of cells.
Stands: Stands are the most common and versatile of the abilities a person can possess, as they represent a person’s soul, and can be pretty much anything, but are usually a fighting spirit that Stands alongside the User. If you choose to play a Stand User, the details on how to create a Stand are below.
First, choose how your character got their Stand. In this universe there are 3 ways: You were either born with it innately, survived the Stand Virus, or ate the meat of an animal or fruit of a plant that had the Stand Virus, which will transfer the Virus over to you.
Next you will have to choose your Stand’s abilities and appearance, along with its type, which is detailed further below.
Stands should be named after a song, album or band of your choice.
Stand abilities should be unique and balanced, with strengths and weaknesses, so avoid creating overly powerful or game-breaking Stands that overshadow other players' abilities.
Stands with abilities that directly manipulate time, space, or reality on a large scale are not allowed, as they can disrupt the balance of the RP thread and create narrative inconsistencies.
Stands with abilities that grant omniscience or omnipotence are not allowed, as they can invalidate plot progression and character development.
Stands with abilities that cause permanent or irreversible effects on characters or the environment are not allowed, as they can limit storytelling possibilities and create conflicts among players.
Stands with abilities that rely solely on luck or chance for their effectiveness are discouraged, as they can lead to unpredictable outcomes and disrupt the flow of the RP thread.
Provide a detailed description of your Stand's appearance, abilities, and limitations when introducing it in the RP thread, allowing other players to understand and interact with your character effectively.
Stand Types: Each stand has a type, sometimes more than one (As long as they don’t directly clash, i.e. a Close Range Power type won’t also be Long Range type). Below is an explanation of each type:
Close-Range Power Type: Also called Close Combat type, these stands excel in direct physical confrontation. Most of these stands have a short materialization range (around 2 meters), and these stand's powers often have a similarly short range of affect, usually only a few meters, though some must touch their target first, and then the ability can then be activated from any distance (such as Speed King's heat accumulation or Killer Queen' bombs)
Long-Range Type: These stands have much further ranges of materialization than most, and can possible being able to persist even miles away from their user. These stands may occasionally have a shorter range of materialization, but their ability still has a much larger range (In a way like Moody Blues' chronological rebroadcasting). These stands are generally weaker when it comes to destructive power, they are more manoeuvrable and can still hold their own in a fight.
Automatic Type: Automatic type stands are an odd type, as they act without user input, instead having their ability activated when a specific criterion is met, such as opening an object (Born This Way). These stands almost always have long ranges that are comparable (and sometimes superior) to Long Range types. As they can work far away from their user, the stand way work even without their knowledge
Colony Type: Colony type stands are stands that instead of having one large body, have multiple smaller iterations, each of which can be given individual commands which they will follow out. This allows the user to multitask with their stand. These stands can usually be quite weak, though their innate numbers advantage allows them to swarm enemies. Colony stands can have anywhere from 4 units to hundreds of thousands (Smooth Operators and Foo Fighters respectively)
Bound Type: Bound stands, also called Materialized stands, are ones that, instead of having their own unique appearance, are bound to a physical object, such as a sword or radio tower (Anubis and Superfly). These stands can be observed by normal humans, as to them a normal and mundane object would have supernatural abilities. Some of these stands may be able to exert their influence over an area (Such as Chariot Requiem or White Album). Or simply allow the object to be manipulated in ways that would normal be impossible (The Fool and Love Deluxe)
Psychological Assault Type: Psychological Assault (Or psych assault for short) stands are said to be the complete and utter opposite of Close-Range Power types, as instead of causing direct physical damage, these stands attack the mind and soul, such as targeting memories (California King Bed and Heaven's Door)
Reconnaissance Type: Also called Recon Type for short, Reconnaissance type stands have abilities that revolve around obtaining information, possibly by scouting or tracking (Aerosmith and King Nothing) or simply having supernatural access to information (Hermit Purple's spirit photographs). Most of the stands have long ranges, but lack combat ability, making them unfit for direct combat
Roleplay in good faith and collaborate with players, that way we can minimize arguing.

[Good pick! Although I wrote the rules and don't neccasarily have to choose, Killer Queen: Bites The Dust or Wonder Of U are probably mine! Alrighty, let's get this started!]
On the outskirts of south London, a peal of thunder accompanies the crash of a carriage. It's a fall from a height that should be lethal, and the state of the carriage suggests so; reduced to splinters of wood and debris. However, miraculously, the sole passenger, a tall, blonde young man in layers of curious, woven garb, and with checker pattern to his hair, survived, as did the two horses pulling it. He's been at work recovering for the last 10 minutes, but it's definitely worth the effort, which is soon evident. He rubs his hands together in a strange pattern; it's like he's tracing the lines on his palm as a fortune teller would, but also in a strange spiral, like the shell of a snail, and then puts them to the neck of the injured steed. It's as if a bright liquid light is shining on his palms; not like a regular oil would, reflecting the light, but as if it's actually glowing itself. And that's not all, since as he takes his hands away, the wound from the fall has healed. The man mutters 'Never should have tried a two-horse coach...too much to keep track off...I'll stick to one-pony caravans next time. Alright, let's get moving!' He then saddles the healed horse, and clicks his tongue to the other, which was healed early and has been calmly munching on the grass about a nearby tree as if nothing happened. He then pulls his shawl closer around him and heads across the landscape, off the beaten trail, but still very much towards the heart of Britain.

On the ports to the constant crashing waves of the tempestuous ocean, a ship seems to be arriving. The crew work in glorious tandem as they dock it, tying everything down as the boat rocks gentle, pulling up the sails that seem to have some kind of pirate insignia on it. What would pirates be doing in such a place like this?
As crew members begin hauling out all of their treasure and spoils to get more supplies for later adventures, the first mate comes off of the ship. A rugged man in studded leather armor, above average in physical strength and hygiene for the time despite not being royalty. His smile glistens brighter than most, complimenting his skin tanned by work under the sun as they would go from coast to coast. He holds up an arm, and landing on it is some kind of foreign, large bird, nuzzling up against the first mate. He has a longsword and dagger at his belt, walking into town with his pure ocean blue eyes and dirty blonde hair. He goes to the local bar, and orders a round for everyone inside, cheering and being merry. As what appears to be a bit of a side venture, he offers 'healing oils' to the drunkards who still have some cash in their pockets, laughing as they buy it off of him. Any other stand users would notice him carrying a strange, glistening silver coin with a skull and crossbones on it, seemingly followed by some strange, skeletal figure.

[Since this thread takes place in the same year as Sea Of Stone, we could technically reuse characters from there if we come up with a good reason for them to be here. As for me I might use Dio and The World Revolving: Stronger Monsters later into the thread as a big twist intro of a villain, just like SBR. I’d also like to use Katamusubi’s user too, since it’s an awesome Stand power I never got to play with!]

*Oh we can? Might use some of mine like Niv and stuff, but not sure that I want to, we will have to see.*

Stand name: Back into darkness by blacklite district
Stand type: automatic with a sub type of psychological assault
Appearance:it takes the form of a 7 foot man shrouded in shadows that has a massive sword on his back
Ability:when activated the back into the darkness will manifest as a puppet. and the puppet will attack my enemies and if it hits the enemy they will be blinded but my puppet is weak against stands that generate a lot of light.*
