Orb of Read Dragon Control: allows you to change the content of old issues of Dragon Magazine.
Ring of Genie Prank Calling: While wearing this cursed ring, you will constantly be bombarded by Sending messages from genies offering you opportunities to refinance your castle, "sure thing" investments, vacations timeshares on the Elemental Plane of Fire, and "free" cruises..
No matter what items the enemies use, players cannot find them on the bodies - even clothes and armor. Most of the time, only random useless items with value only to shopkeepers will be found on defeated enemies. The useless items have weight and size volume that count toward encumbrance and against available carrying space.

Letting players create magic items with any combination of spells, resistances, immunities, and stat bonuses as long as they have the raw resources and enough living blood of player race NPCs. Player level does not restrict the item's abilities. (If BBEGs can do it, players can, too.)
Hello 1" bauble that grants Immunity to all damage, resistant to all statuses, +10 to all stats up to 30, and casts a 5-minute 30' AoE doing 20d8 of each damage type centered on any point the player can see up to 120'. I'm gifting that to my new Level 1 non-murder character - NewGamePwn.

That would require a genocide. It would be much easier and actually canonical to gather up a bunch of, say, Corelleon's followers, then say your'e gonna teleport them to avernus unless the god grants you immense power. Your idea is literally just holding a god hostage -- if your DM appreciates the attempt, it will work without breaking any of the prexisting rules.

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
Sword of Heaviness- a sword so heavy it’s impossible to lift
Staff of Idiocy- gives the holder an intelligence of 1
Armor of Fighting- provokes whoever sees it into attacking the wearer
Confidence Helm- gives advantage to attack rolls against the wearer
Staff of Dying- kills whoever touches it
I'm just... you know... friendly... possibly evil necromancer...
Sword -- would take my group 5 hours to realize they cannot move it
Staff -- my party doesn't need it :)
Armor -- my party already gets attacked by most things
Helm -- just give it to the barbarian who always uses Reckless Attack
Staff of Dying -- literally the [redacted] from Tomb of Horrors. Its been around for 45 years, dude.

Staff of dying- ummm, I totally knew that. Yeah.
Also, @OrtanFang, your party is a dumb if they don’t need the staff of idiocy. No offense.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
