The Homebrew section, particularly the Homebrew Monster section, really needs a more user friendly way to create rollable tags for your encounters. Currently, for a fairly simple greataxe attack with a +8 to hit and a damage of 1d12+5 to be rollable within the encounters app, I need to formulate this - Melee Weapon Attack:+8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 [rollable](1d12+5); which is overwhelming for the user and exhaustingly time consuming. The homebrew monster screen should have an option to guide the user through ability creation. It could bring up a box that asks the name (Greataxe Attack), and gives checkboxes to select about what the user is trying to make (I would check the box that would say melee weapon attack) then it would ask what the plus to hit is (8), what the damage die is with the die options listed (1d12), what the plus to damage is (5), what the range is (5 feet), what the damage type is with all the damage types selectable from a dropdown, etc. At the end, it should have a dice annotation that works within the encounters app without any script needing to be written by the user.
This essentially already exists, only easier because all you have to do is copy/paste the whole action into the field and it generates the rollable for you without having to go through prompts like you describe. Just hit this button:
Then basically just paste your whole action into the popup, text and all and hit the button:
I definitely didn't know this, that is very helpful! I think that this function should definitely be highlighted and elaborated on more by DDB. I searched for tutorial video's multiple times and never found anything that mentioned it. Thank you!

I think that may be a third party extension you're using

It's not an extension, it's just a feature of the RTF editor even I was unfamiliar with:
Highlight the text you want to do stuff to. Click the last icon in the RTF editor "Add rollable dice blocks automatically"
Then click the "Add Rollable Dice Blocks" button in the dialog that comes up.
Voilà. Learned something new today. Thanks IamSposta.

Hitting 'add HTML' after 'rollable dice blocks' will even add common tooltips and format the text like official stat blocks for you.
HOT SKIPPY! Even I didn't know about that! Sorry for the mistake Sposta, and thank you for bringing that to my attention!!!!!
