So I'm trying to add the "scale by level" temp hp (3x Class Level) feature from the Circle of Spores to my re-flavoured subclass.
Whenyou use your Wild Shape feature, you can awaken those spikes, rather than transforming. Whenyou doso, you gain 3 temporary hit points per level youhave inthis class
It appears I can add a flat temp hp modifier but there doesn't seem to be any interaction with the Level Scaling attribute. In fact, the level scaling attribute seems to just be a resource dice pool (al la the battlemaster fighter) - not a variable I can plug into other modifiers as I had imagined.
From the looks of it, I can't automatically add 3x level in the class in temp hp when the player clicks the ability in the UI - short of manually adjusting the class as the player levels up.
Currently the per level scaling is not available. Features such as lay on hands etc... will be available after the character sheet revamp is released. So you are not missing anything, the functionality just isn't there yet.

When I add fixed value to level scaling, it is ignored, only dice values are calculated properly. Unless I'm doing something wrong it is still not implemented properly.
I wanted to make a spell, but fixed value in level scaling doesn't work. You confirmed it in this comment.
I think I tried scaling with fixed value elsewhere - probably subclass feature and it didn't work but maybe I'm misremembering. May be this is only homebrew spells issue, but I don't see a good reason why, seem trivial to implement. If it's not supposed to work, then removing the option would be a better solution imo.
No worries. It gets confusing around here, I know.
I know I'm confused because I'm not sure what doesn't work with FIXED VALUE when it comes to spell level scaling. I found it works perfectly fine for Additional Count, Additional Targets, Extended Area, and Extended Range. I have examples of all of these in my thread for Spells At Higher Levels Explained.
Sounds like they're trying Additional Points for the type. Is there an official spell that adds a +N to damage depending on what level the spell is cast at? That may be why that functionality isn't in there
It used to work, people would do it all the time to Homebrew variations of cure wounds & healing word to mimic the functionality of the life cleric’s Disciple of Life feature before they (finally) implemented it. DDB actively removed that functionality at some point a long time ago though, not sure why exactly.
What im trying to do is exactly that - wanted to try new healing spells from onednd playtest where they double the dice plus its for life cleric - so I tried to add Disciple of Life bonus and it's not working

Or am I missing something here?

still nothing.. wow
That functionality has been in place for years. This thread is from 2018.

A few questions to help troubleshoot this for you:
Do you mean attached to the feature like here?
Or do you mean attached to an Action like here?
How exactly did you set it up?
Did you remember to re-save the whole project after adding it and then wait 20 minutes for the system to update?

Oh, a spell. This thread was about subclasses, which is why I was confused.

how do you scale something based off of level? for example the circle of spores ability states 4 x class level, how do you do that in the builder?
