I noticed the new GotG Rune shaper feat is broken when used in the DDB character maker. The feat grants me 1 rune, but the feat then allows me to have 3 spells selected instead of the one I should have. It looks like it is taking half my level instead of half of my proficiency bonus as worded.
Should the words on the feat be for half the level or should the mechanics in the character sheet be for half the proficiency bonus?
In the Rune Magic benefit, a character is said to know a number of runes equal to half their proficiency bonus (rounded down). This limitation is currently unable to be modeled due to the feat’s implementation; it is up to the player to choose the correct number of runes (spells) according to their proficiency bonus.
Can anyone tell me if the "Rune Shaper" feat grants the use of all the rune shaper spells a character has learned between long rests, or does that character only get to use ONE rune between long rests. Example, I have a 3rd level life cleric and on the D&D Beyond character page, it lists all 4 of the spells I know because of the feat, and all four have check boxes to the right of them, but my DM is saying I can only use one per rest. If that was the case, why are there 4 check boxes there? I'm not finding any definitive information about this question, so I'm hoping someone here might be able to shed some light for me. Thanks for any help anyone might have. :)

I will copy the feat text that is applicable and highlight the part that you and your DM seem to have missed.
Rune Magic. You know a number of runes equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down), chosen from the Rune Spells table. Whenever you finish a long rest, you can inscribe EACH RUNE you know onto one nonmagical weapon, armor, piece of clothing, or other object you touch. You temporarily learn the 1st-level spells that correspond to the runes you inscribed, as specified on the Rune Spells table, and you know those spells until you finish a long rest, when the runes fade. While you are wearing or carrying any rune-marked object, you can cast the spells associated with those runes using any spell slots you have.
You can also invoke a rune inscribed on an object you are wearing or carrying and cast its associated spell without expending a spell slot or using material components. Once you cast the spell in this way, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest. Your spellcasting ability for this feat is Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma (choose when you select this feat).
I'm not sure why you're saying you have 4. The maximum you can have is 3 (half prof bonus rounded down, since the max bonus is 6, this means 3 runes). But anyway, you seem to have 4 (so, somehow you have +8 proficiency bonus o.O??) so let's go with that.
This means you know 4 runes of your choice. After you complete a long rest you can inscribe 4 different pieces of equipment with a rune each. For example: a helmet may get the Enemy rune (Disguise Self), a gauntlet may get Dragon rune (Chromatic Orb), your armour may get the Frost rune (Armor of Agathys) and your boots may get Journey rune (longstrider). While wearing your helmet you can cast Disguise Self once per day and may also cast it using any spell slots you have. If your also wore your boots you can also cast Longstrider once per day and using any spell slots you have. If you wore all 4 pieces of equipment - helmet, gauntlets, armour and boots - you can cast Disguise Self, Chromatic Orb, Armor of Agathys and Longstrider once EACH without using a spell slot and can also cast these spells using any spell slots you have.
When you next complete a long rest you lose those runes and spells and may choose 4 more runes which could be the same or different ones, and imbue on whatever equipment you want, again.
I hope that makes sense and is clear.

I'm relatively new to playing DnD... but the rune spell options don't make sense to me, except for the Armor of Agathys and Longstride. At least Glyph of Warding lets me use spells of the same casting level, with limits. I was hoping for more buff spells, like Haste, Spider Climb or Protection from Energy, something that lets me choose one type of damage resistance, to prepare for combat. Even the attack spells are weird, like Chromatic Orb? A 24 hour or until used Flame-tongue or Frostbite would've made more sense...

They make perfect sense for terms of game balance and theme.
Your last sentence makes no sense. You'd rather Frostbite, a basic cantrip that only does cold damage, over Chromatic Orb a levelled spell that can do any element? Why? And what do you mean by Flame-tongue? That's a magic item not a spell.

Has this issue been fixed yet? I plan on using this feature once the campaign I'm in is no longer on hiatus, but I don't want to spend 30 dollars on this book if I can't even use the feature I wanted from it.
The last time I tried buying the book the feature is in, it didn't even show up in the list of features I could grab. I don't want to waste 30 dollars when the only thing I want from that book is a feature that might not even work. Though... I don't really have any alternatives. I just want to make sure the feature works the next time I purchase the book.

The feat is definitely usable as-is. You just have to manually track when to add each new rune.

Still not working. I am not able to select any spells
Rune Shaper currently only supports spells from the 2014 Core Rules. If you have 2014 Core Rules disabled, you will not see any spells.
