I rally like most of the sorting options, but I would love to have a way to filter by spell level range. I think the newer players in my group would really like to be presented with a selection of their options, rather than just a huge, inapproachable list that they can't figure out in the moment and go with their regular.

The ability to filter using Spell level is the 2nd filter option, you can choose either 1 spell level, or multiple. If you want to use a range (say Cantrip-level 3), you'd just select Cantrip, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and then click the Filter Spells button.
Yeah, thanks. i played around with this a little more and figured it out. The area I'm having difficulty with now is figuring out how to filter by clerical domains. Our cleric might really enjoy using this, and I want to give her a chance.
Its nice to able to search spells by level and type. I would like to see a similar option for cleric spell circles. They fall a bit different than the mage schools and it can be a bit confusing for new player to know what they can cast.
I'm pleased to say DBB already has that functionality. Just click on the 'advanced filters' near the top of the Spells list and select 'Yes' to Rituals.
Perhaps for all the complex searches being requested, a search "command line" function could be introduced, that shows the syntax for any search performed, but then let's users add on to that (and if you want to UI it, put in a little expression generator with options like AND/OR, etc.) - you can probably avoid UI clutter yet still provide stuff for power users that way.
And as previously mentioned, spell lists (independent of characters) may be useful too - spell effects for dungeon traps, come to mind.
I play a lot of characters that are based around a certain type of magic. I think it would be very use to be able to filter the spells into magic types or and being able to change existing spell to a different magic type. Like say you are playing a tempest cleric you know you get your power from your deity but you wish that some of your spells would look and feel more connected to lightning. (Nature, Holy, Arcane, Physic, Demonic, Necrotic,)

You can filter by damage type currently (holy, psychic, necrotic, etc.). For the other types you mention (nature, arcane, demonic), we are hesitant to split spells into Arcane and Divine in fifth edition since those references have been removed from it.
Bards can cast cure wounds just as a cleric can. In previous editions of the game, bards used arcane magic and clerics used divine, but that's no longer a distinction the game developers include.
"Nature" and some others like that could potentially be useful - we'll explore some options there.
Its nice to see all the discussion and feedback. im loving the site so far. i think most of what id like to see is either on the way, or has already been discussed and addressed.
Someone may have already suggested this, but in the spell descriptions, what is the possibility of including a visual that describes the range or area of effect of a spell?
Hi there! Loving the app so far, looking forward to more!
I noticed when I click on any of the characters in Spells (or, indeed, navigate between different components like to Monsters), I get a whole page refresh. Can you make these Async with Ajax or the like, so we don't pull the whole page's data down again? Also with the tables, it looks like you might be pre-loading per page. Which isn't terrible, but I'm not a huge fan of pagination... could maybe use RxJS observables instead and load as you scroll? And then a "jump to..." for a specific letter.
I don't know if this has been suggested yet, but I'd love a way to see spells in a simple list where I can click them to find their spell page. I like the current way fine, but sometimes I want to be able to navigate the spells like a Wizard boss and look at lots of disparate spells at once (like I can on other databases and even the pdf of the SRD, at least in the way that I bookmarked it).
I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but there are certain spells missing from the spellbook (for example, Friends) and I'm not sure if the plan is to add these in the long term. Thanks!

The big database type pages (e.g. monsters/npcs and spells) are especially well-done, thank you!
One thing that might be nice for the spell listing is to have a sort of "this-but-not-that" filter. The kind of thing that, in human language would be: "Give me a list of all the rituals(or abjurations or whatever) that are on the Cleric's spell list but not on the Wizard's." Granted, it's a bit of an edge/corner use, but I can see it being handy if you're a player thinking of taking Ritual Caster or if you're building some kind of homebrew and want to see what sorts of weirdness becomes available from poaching another class's list.
Also, it might be nice if some of the shorter pages, like Conditions could have some sorting/filtering: say you want to see exactly which conditions can debuff a Strength check or which conditions have the Restrained bundled into them.
This is looking good so far and I'm eager to see how the forthcoming content generation stuff!
There is a lot on here, to go through and it might have already been mentioned but, spells from the Unearthed Arcana stuff? Maybe even if its in a separate little windows

The filter for domains has yet to be added - but it will be added soon.

Function to search rituals. (under spell tags for be sufficient).
Clerics and other classes get ritual casting so its useful to just see all available rituals.

Witch Bolt is not part of the SRD so not part of the Beta.
