Please allow for two columns in the display of "My characters" when on tablets; I know this used to be the case, but with the advent (a while back) of the filtering options, my character list is now one centered column with oodles of which space on either side. Given that I haver 50+ characters, this is really annoying.
Characters I have created (only 33) are still displaying as two columns for me on my iPad Air 2 running Chrome.
Interesting. I'm using an iPad 3 and Safari.
Can the folks having this issue please share what kind of resolution you have on the tablet? I see conflicting information about what size screen an "iPad 3" has.
One of the issue I have with the exported sheet, is that the Actions panel is nearly 2/3 of the page width, yet the text uses only 1/2 of that width, as if it is still honoring the 3 column layout. I understand what you did there, providing two columns instead of just a single column, however, none of my group likes it like that...
Can the Toll The Dead cantrip be formatted similarly to versatile weapons in the attack section? Meaning the base d8 damage larger above, and the d12 damage listed smaller in grey below it. It would be helpful. Thanks.

With monk why does only half of the stuff i can spend ki on show on the spell sheet and why does it not auto generate my spell dc and other items on the spell sheet?
Can you provide some examples of what is not showing and where? I am looking at my sheet right now and I am seeing all of my Ki uses and all applicable DCs show in the description. I am using a Way of the Long Death monk.
overall i like it but there are still a few issues i have.
warlock lifedrinker eldritch invocation seems not to be implemented. my weapon is set as pact weapon and hex weapon so with lifedrinker as a hexblade i substitute CHA for attack and damage and deal an additional +CHA necrotic damage for a total of W + CHA + CHA damage. but the damage display for the weapon attack action in the sheet only shows W + CHA.
currency is clunky and does not automate changing of coins for transactions beyond the number of coins you have of each type. removing 5sp from 1gp2sp does not work and i think it should automatically convert and leave you with 7sp. i would also like the value of coins i have that are partial GP to be displayed. if as above i have 1gp2sp i would like the value displayed to show that sp value in some way like a decimal.
and i would like to be able to add items, like books, as distinct from each other. my current character has a book of poetry, and if he buys a copy of volo's guide to monsters to have it signed by the author i cannot add that to my character sheet without creating a homebrew item. i would like some way to add distinct instances of generically categorized items, like books, so that i can have one book customized to be a signed copy of volo's guide to monsters and another to be a book of poems.

In certain settings 1gp might be worth more or less than 10sp, so I see why that might be avoided - however there should be at least some indication that the full amount could not be removed, i.e. the difference staying in the fields. Like, with your above example, if I have 1gp 2sp, and I try to deduct 7sp, then I should have 1gp left, the edit field should show 5sp (instead of being cleared), and a popup should warn that not all currency have been deducted.
As for the customised generic item, there's an even more common (and less fluff) usage: silvered ammunition. If I want to have 10 silvered arrows and 50 normal arrows, I have to create a custom item (not to mention, ammunition doesn't have a "silvered" checkbox).
With monk why does only half of the stuff i can spend ki on show on the spell sheet and why does it not auto generate my spell dc and other items on the spell sheet?

That's another good question for Milkgiver, are you using an official or homebrew Monk subclass? If it is unofficial, then the author has not gone back and added all the information in since the revamp and/or has not done a pass with the macro/variable tags.
i would like some way to add distinct instances of generically categorized items, like books, so that i can have one book customized to be a signed copy of volo's guide to monsters and another to be a book of poems.
Hi there b33f3r,
you can use the "other possessions" tab for this and freehand enter any information you like on the items in your character's inventory.
One thing I noted while testing the section on the mobile view of my Samsung Android phone: if you add custom notes to a creature, the notes don't show up anywhere in mobile view (they show up in desktop view in the extra Notes column).
Could you add the notes in the sidebar at the end of the stats block and creature deacription?
Did I say I love this new section? 😄
(Edit) Other suggestion: would it be possible on a technical level to add a CONDITIONS button under a creature's hit points customization? (i.e. track a creature's conditions similarly to the way we can track our character's conditions).
Wanted to hop in here and suggest adding the creatures to the pdf export. I figure this is probably in the same category as exporting spell cards. But wanted to get the suggestion in nonetheless.
From start to finish to deliver such an outstanding product in a relatively short amount of time, especially with this level of multi-browser support and responsiveness across devices, is something many developers would be jealous of! I'm using an older Android 4+ tablet (Asus Zenbook) and it's so much easier for our games than pen and paper. Even on phone I can do almost anything I want, that's pretty amazing UX considering the amount of information it holds.
Thanks for the dedication
90% agree with you. the other 10% is inventory management done on a separate sheet of paper or google drive and having a note pad open with campaign notes so that I can look as my spells and have relevant roll play notes a open at the same time. "I cast ...err... one second changing tabs... hypnotic pattern on the.... err... one second changing tabs again....on the Baron of Tharn and his Dark Revenant guards." I need two notes screen for efficiency of play and despite the ability to remove weight of objects and label there location in the notes, I still can't sort, remove/add groups of objects instead of one at a time. Bags of holding weight management is a nightmare with a GM that requires you to actually track that 500lbs... so google drive or MPMB for auto math is holding me for now but I am half converted to D&D Beyond. I am also, on roll20 AND fantasy grounds depending on who is GMing the session so currently I have 4 different character sheets for both of my main characters that I update after each session. It would be awesome if D&D Beyond had a tabletop and dice roller and/or I could import my character updates from D&D Beyond to fantasy ground and Roll20 that way I could just play on D&D Beyond and click "export to" twice. D&D Beyond is currently my hands down favorite sheet however the filtered spells, feats, and magic items are a bigger part of that than I expected. I do which I could filter by a negative like "No - Combat" and "No - damage" in spells.
I'm with you 100% on your 10%. Rejigging the panels a bit would be a dream for me, how often do you actually refer to PROFICIENCIES & LANGUAGES anyway? I'd rather have Notes there. Especially if the character sheet could remember that I want to be on NOTES>OTHER and not NOTES>ALL every time I go to that tab. Probably a long way off, if ever though.
A perhaps easier option for to implement notes would be ability to lock two pop-up panels at once. Right now if I click notes, move to the pop-up to the left, and click a spell... it replaces my locked notes with the spell. If however, it opened a new popup window on the right leaving the notes locked on the left alone. I would have a lot more control. Maybe this could be fixed with a second lock option "Lock to content". That way I could have Character/Class/Player campaign notes or Equipment "other possessions" so that I could have access to my text document back of holding to see if I have equipment or spells for solving a puzzle, or look at my personal "inventory", player/campaign notes on the left and "other possessions" on the right so I can easily see what I have to trade, what the party has to trade, and what the party members and shop keepers names are from my campaign notes. Just a thought.
I know its weird to quote yourself but I just had to laugh, Despite some people saying notes and inventory are not an issue, I after posting this went home to watch critical role Season 2, Episode 31 "Beyond Boundaries" @1:08:16 and the cast stated teasing each other about lost unorganized notes and shared inventory tracking that they were doing on paper (just like my group) and Laura being fired as "The Party Quartermaster" because she lost the party equipment notes kept on paper for her Handy haversack but she was willing to keep the money aka "The Party Treasurer"... I can sympathize because I was "The Party Treasurer andQuartermaster" and had to track it all on the MPMB character sheet because my GM cares about weight. 500+ lbs later I had to pass off being "The Party Treasurer" and focus on being the "The Party Quartermaster" because the party was annoyed by my complaining I was over weight to the point I could barely walk (we use variant encumbrance rules, I was heavily encumbered)...we gave "The Party Treasurer" role to a party member with more family obligations who often comes later. As a result, I ended up keeping 2,000 gp 500 sp, 500 cp for day to day purchases and we have to stall game play for the "The Party Treasurer" to make it before we can buy magic items extra.
It would be REALLY useful to have a party "Party Treasurer" and "Party Quartermaster" page on the GMs Campaign page so that those roles could be handled in a separate page that could be access by any campaign member incase the party member who does the role can not show up. Along with the 2 notes at once idea or possibly a shared "Party Notes" that the players could keep and GM could edit for correctness or to save time... would mean I could fully move to D&D Beyond. Its just a thought. Sorry for the repeat. I was just excited to confirm I am not the only one having these issues. I will try to restrain myself from posting more on it as I have said my peace at this point and I am aware that I have tendency to beat dead horses... …sorry about that.
The lack of inflection in text means that a reader of any post adds their own inflection as they "verbalize" it in their head. I write long and repetitive in an effort to be clear and avoid my intent from being skewed or inverted. I am also bad at examples. It is common for people to skim my posts pull out the idea they think I mean or want to argue against or focus on my bad example instead of the point I am actually trying to make. I apologies for the confusion my failure to be clear and concise creates.
What you said. But currently, you can use another character in the campaign that no one uses but is public so everyone can see.
O.O .... that's a really good idea. I used "the make a new character into a donkey" for a donkey (I used a Changeling because I had to pick a race and I thought that was funny and appropriate, though a druid would be equally amusing) so that I could carry stuff that was not on me but I had not considered that its public so other players could see. That in mind, as you said, I could do the same thing with a bag of holding making a "Bag of holding" character then sharing the link. Which is good but it does not let other edit it... however as I say this I realize if its part of the campaign the GM could edit it if the player is not there. It also means the GM could edit coins and notes but then the problem is your switching browser tabs and burdening the GM. Still, that's better than not having it. So thank you! I will ask my group to consider this as at least a temporary fix.

The companions update was a great step in the right direction, thank you! I appreciate that you guys keep us informed even though I'm sure interacting with the masses is stressful. Have I mentioned how beautiful this layout is? It really feels like a magic, customizable version of the book itself, which I love.
My only (very narrowly focused) feedback for this update is that the pseudodragon entry does not show the variant familiar rules or any of the additional information from the Monster Manual - and the notes section is too small/devoid of formatting to add such things by hand. In the meantime, the notes section has allowed me to copypasta a direct link to the info so now I never have to use the search function for it again! Muahahaha. Thanks again, DDB Team <3
For the beast companions. Can you please add an option to "Roll HP". In our games the DM (or me when I DM) ask the player to roll new HP for their summons, beast forms, etc. You can throw it in the space between HP and the current/max shown ("Roll HP") once the beast has been added?
Thanks,
Envaris

We've stopped this OGL madness, but stay vigilant, they tried it once, they can try it again.
According to this website, all 9.7" iPads since the iPad 3 have have had the same resolution (2048x1536 at 264ppi)
How to add Tooltips
I have confirmed in the codebase that the 768px display (retina gets halved) has never displayed two columns.
That was the part that was confusing. However, we can make some adjustments and make two columns fit, so we'll see about doing that.
Thanks!
