I created a campaign in D&D Beyond and the players are all 5th level. I want to assign another player as the DM. Is this possible? It defaulted me in as the DM.
I keep hoping they’ll update this. It’d be nice to pass the reigns more easily.
No one needs to "pass the reigns". Whoever is going to DM sets up the campaign and whoever has the Master Tier subscription can turn on content sharing. There's nothing to fix.

Spirit Bomb - A holy fireball for Clerics, Paladins, & Divine Soul Sorcerers!
Sword Dancer - A Cleric subclass specifically for the Drow goddess Eilistraee.
Just came looking for this answer. I appreciate that it may not often happen in your own games, but I do believe there is a use case for this feature request. It's the use case that brought me here today.
One of my players recently decided to try their hand at DMing and give me a much appreciated chance to play for a change. However, as a first time DM, they find they have a lot of things to learn and juggle. Learning the intricacies of tricking out a D&D Beyond character sheet with custom actions and other homebrew mojo they've come to appreciate the convenience of from when I DM. It would be nice if I could be given, even if only temporarily, by the "real DM" (i.e. the creator of the game) the same level of access to mod sheets and such. In this case, it would allow a player with the time and experience with D&D Beyond to help a new player who has yet to gain those skills (and may become frustrated having to climb that learning curve while climbing so many others) to share the mechanical burden with their DM with the full consent of the other players.
As it is, it seems the DM would have to share their DDB credentials with me to allow this sort of help. And it's just not great having to choose between a better DDB player experience with tricked-out DDB character sheets and eroding security through sharing of credentials.
I understand there may be reasons not to, but I also want there to be an example of where it would be helpful. To me, specifically. But, I'm clearly not the only one. Thanks for reading.
Apologies for the necro, but this matter is of interest to me and I'd rather not start a new thread for something already covered in one.
Ditto to everything DrBaka said.
I'm assuming the hostility further up is because of concern about this taking up dev time. This is the kind of thing that is likely fairly easy and quick to implement, though it depends on how it was coded.
So yeah, this would be a neat feature and I think it's worth putting it in as long as I'm correct in my assumption. +1 to the idea, assuming ease-of-implementation. -1 if a lot of code would have to be rewritten or the like and it would take a lot of time. If the second is the case, there's bigger fish to fry.
I have someone who would like to GM a game but has little experience with D&D Beyond. This would help me help them get started and seems like it would be a simple thing to set up. Current GM assigns GM status in the campaign to one of the players... done. Sure they can create one of their own and get everyone to join etc. etc. but this would make it a simple one step process. It just simplifies things and makes it easier.

Any member of the campaign can be "the DM" though typically the DM is the one who creates the campaign and has access to all the characters.
Transferring ownership of the campaign to someone else, so they can see and edit all of the characters - this isn't available yet, sorry!

Has there been any update on this?
Still the same.

Whoever the DM is needs to make the campaign. Content Sharing will still function no matter who owns the content.

Put me down for "would like this feature".

Also chiming in to request.
Also would like this to be possible.
Another vote in favor. I came here hoping to find a way to do exactly this.
Ditto!
Yep, would be a great feature. Great way to have another player DM a one shot for the rest of the crew.
