It would be insanely helpful if compendium content had a reference to the page number of the physical books...
I use D&DBeyond almost exclusively, but I speak with people that don't, it would be nice to be able to tell them where they can find the information in the medium they are using.
Even being able to search the compendium by page numbers would be helpful. Without this ability, all of the page number references in resources like Sage Advice are meaningless.
The simpler solution would be to do what the bits-and-mortar (https://www.bits-and-mortar.com/) scheme does for shops which provide a code for downloading a PDF. A similar scheme could allow the code to be used on DDB instead of drivethrurpg.
I don’t think the bits and mortar solution works here, for several reasons:
-it wouldn’t apply to all purchases, only to those brick and mortar stores who participated; so those who purchase on Amazon or at Target or at an FLGS that doesn’t participate wouldn’t get a code
-with bits and mortar, the company that is providing the physical book to the store and the pdf to the company is the same. That’s not true here. WOTC and DDB are separate companies
-the cost of providing a pdf for a work already printed is far less than the cost of taking the files WOTC provides to DDB and turning those files into the database and tools available here, so prices of books with codes would still have to go up.
I think my main point was that the principle could be applied here.
DDB pay some sort of license, possibly per purchase, to WOTC.
If the purchaser on DDB could prove that they've already bought something from WOTC, then DDB could(?) reduce the purchase cost of their stuff and not forward the DDB license fee to WOTC. This would not cost DDB anything, but would provide a saving to the end-user.
What if we just went the other direction? Compendium purchases on DnD Beyond came with a promotional code that could be used to order a physical copy from a LGS or online retailer?

Then DDB would have to start charging $50 for the Compendium Only version, and $60 for the Full Version. I say ”no thank you.”
Oh, yeah sorry I was meaning a code for a discount. Like the Theros promotion, basically, but in reverse. It makes total sense for each company to get their share since writing and encoding into a digital compendium are two different sets of work, but it also makes sense to perhaps do some revenue sharing when someone wants both.
I would picture something like, you choose to buy a digital book here on DnDBeyond, then you also get a discount code for %30 off the physical copy, or something like that.
I've searched this forum for 'Photos' and 'Images' and couldn't find my suggestion so here it is.
I've just started my first D&D Beyond Campaign and I took the time to create a map of the world I created. I plan on creating maps of towns/locations throughout my campaign as well as menu's for taverns and bounties posted on town bulletins. It would be awesome to be able to add images to an image folder on the campaign. This would allow my players to pull up the map of my world or the town they are in without me texting or emailing it to them.
Also it would be pretty sweet to have a campaign banner/background so that I could put the map of my world as the first thing you see when you open the campaign.
You, of course, wouldn't want someone adding any inappropriate photos so you would probably want some 'approval' process maybe where photos would need to be approved before it can be public on a campaign. Food for thought.

Thanks for your guys' hard work!
I've actually not seen this proposed yet, but I would also absolutely use this feature. I could see it quickly ballooning into a storage space problem for DnDBeyond since map images tend to be hi res and very big files. I could see this working as a benefit of the Master Tier subscription for a larger data footprint for a campaign, and maybe just a campaign cover image and a smaller file size limit for non-membership campaigns.
It is possible to insert photos into forum posts as long as they are hosted on another server such as imgur (google isn’t compatible 🙄). The “campaign notes” have the same function. So, while it is not ideal, there is a way to get pictures into a campaign.
Hey, came across another option that would be beneficial. When running a saltmarsh campaign you don't really want you PCs equipping the uncommon luckstone, but you can't tell them to equip the cursed luckstone.
The cursed luckstone, and the uncommon luckstone are very different, so maybe cursed items could be added to the common item compendium, without the curse listed ie. Common luckstone VS uncommon luckstone. The dm can then note a players use of the common luckstone, and when attuned as the player to change it, or the dm could Edit the players inventory themselves.
Have the same concerns with the amount of cursed items the players encounter in the Yawning Portal adventure. My research yielded the same result. Nothing. You would have to create a work around. Duplicate the item itself, give them the item without the Cursed descriptions. a lot of times, being the DM with access to their sheets, I add it in so that they don't see 2 items while searching the equipment (or in the case of the stone of ill luck, just give them the regular but you need to *constantly* be aware and do the deductions despite the PCs additions)
and then when the curse activates, just give them the correct one.
Also, this is why I became a stickler about unidentified attunable items needing a rest to attune/identify. I would just say, here's a longsword that needs to be attuned to.. nothing more. they would write the note in their sheet and then when they attune, the curse is revealed in full but they're already attuned and stuck with it
I like the character page picture frames that I have. I see you did the Critical Role gods...Could we get the Forgotten Realm PHB gods? I would like to pay for them if necessary.

As far as I can tell (I haven't found a lot of info about it), the portrait frames and character sheet BGs are all pre-order bonuses. So I think a lot of the most recent books came with some of them. I only got the Theros ones (which are pretty cool, btw!) so I can't say which ones are out there.
In the past, I think they have mentioned that they want to make the purchasable for people who are interested (I would be!), but I haven't seen anything about it lately.
Its not that I want to limit it to a cover pic, per se.
I'm just imagining that hosting files might have some operating cost associated with it, so I imagine that the feature in earnest would be limited to paid accounts. That also seems reasonable to me, especially with the workaround that IamSposta pointed out.
It would be great to be able to have npc characters available to the campaign that cannot be seen by players.
Also, I’d the option in the character generator imcluded GM modified options like 0 level (no class or create a commoner class with very little in the way of Special abilities, but race, skills, background, etc) that would be very helpful.
alternatively an easier way to set those up in the monsters section could work, but feels like it’s an npc generator section tat is needed

I gave someone else tips on how to do a pseudo version of that in this thread. Maybe it will help in the meantime.
An NPC stat block generator would be cool. It could be something that has a true randomize feature available, but also something that you could use a few drop downs to quickly fill in some parameters (like race, class, name, pre-gen template from the MM and DMG).

It would be very useful to have a exclude feature.
For example, if you're searching for spells, you could search for Wizard spells that aren't Bard spells
Oh gosh yea!!

I want this too since I tend to just use the PHB for character creation. Being able to just search for PHB spells would be great.
That you can already do. See:

And if you set the NPC to “private,” the players will only be able to see Name, Race, and Class and nothing else.
I hope that helps some.
