This wasn't on the first 3 pages of upvoted responses and I haven't found how to do it in the app.
I should be able to control/grant xp or milestones to the characters in my campaign.
Are you referring to the mobile app that is in beta? Or just the pages as the appear on the phone or a tablet?
If the former, then I believe there is a dedicated thread for the Mobile app.
If the latter, then go to the campaign, view the character you wish to add XP to, tap their character portrait and a drop down menu should appear, select manage experience and go team go.
And what about running a game with seven players where I want to grant them all experience at the end of a session? Because that's what I'm doing.
I want to give XP once, not seven times through five menus.
I mean thats exactly my problem - I have 7 players and going in and out of each character is not reasonable. Players will largely do this for me, but I'd want to check on it as well to make sure no one does it wrong, or forgets and then you have people out of sync and you can't tell who is right. Additionally there's a coolness to the surprise i think players get when it just happens.
Ah gotcha, a batch action for xp distribution. Would be a handy option, I don't think I would ever be able to use it. Too often I have people not there for a night so everyone has different xp amounts not to mention I tend to give little xp bonuses to individual players for actions in character or moments of awesome. Taking your suggestion a step further would be being able to pick people from a menu to distribute the xp to in your campaign.

Adventure League Log.com already does that.
Well good for Adventure league log? I guess?

So basically what some of you are saying... if another software does it, then we shouldn't get DDB to do it ? then why would DDB be needed considering Roll20 and FG already do pretty much everything we can ask for ?
nah i'd be down for a few things, but really what i want the most is an adventure creator. you know make monsters, like we already do. a place where i can put notes for myself, like files i created, like images and RTF files for my world. things i can then put as public for my players to see and read if need be. i can already do most of these with my tablet and basic folders, but i need a separate place like facebook for my group to hold onto. using facebook for chatting is also great. but i really just want it all at the same place. you know i'd like my D&D players to just log in here, chat in here, get the information of the game in here.
thats all i want, everything in the same place.

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place to post this. And if it isn’t, I apologize. I’d like to suggest a AL friendly option at character creation where you can choose the +1 source for the character. This would then lock certain spells and options for the character moving forward to PHB + whatever source they selected. I’m thinking this would really help. Please consider the idea if it’s possible. Thank you! :)

I might have good news to you, as it has been already said by the staff (albeit in other threads) that AL support will be available. Still not sure when or how, but there's apparently changed coming to AL in the future (according to the staff saying there are things on the development of AL they cannot discuss yet and that affect the integration) and once those will be live the DDB AL integration will follow very shortly.

Whoa! Awesome! Thank you very much for this news. I appreciate it!
This is exactly what I want. +1 for the adventure/campaign creator. I think just allowing us to create content in the same way the full books are presented here (with the sidebar to left and all) should be an easy first step. Later on could come the section sharing to allow for players to read about the world as they explore it.

I am doing Milestone this time, but I've largely moved to group XP. Hopefully a feature like this would let you do something like dole out 2400 XP to the characters I put a checkbox next to, do the division for you etc. The individual rewards would probably be equally tedious. I can imagine a note section for a reward so you can look back and know where it all came from, then you can just say "Hey Thondrall, you get 100XP for that scene" and he adds 100 XP and puts a note in that says "DM reward for intimidating Mayor Bill to let Old Man Thadeus spend a year in jail instead of execution".
There is so much to this threat that its hard to read all the pages.
Tables:
What I want is that you break out all tables from all sources and put under a table button in the top banner so we can have all tables from the Adventures + Source Books in one place
We need automatic dice rollers on tables that spits out the result and it should be able to roll on multiple tables in one go.
Also the ability to generate our own home brew tables.
Lets say I get a button for ToA: Roll for adventure day slow pace. Then it will roll on the encounter table and roll for weather conditions in one go. Print out what happens in from of weather, encounters and link me to the corresponding stat block/info if monster/other shows up.
What I really want is more automation in already published adventures.
NPCs:
We need to be able to make player character stated NPCs
but also an ability to quickly generate a NPC based on the "NPC monsters" from XGE and DM Generate random Dragonborn Warlock Great Old One NCP - It adds a Dragonborn Name and Racials to the existing Warlock - Great Old One Statblock

This NPC idea is pretty solid, actually. I think I've seen something about it mentioned before, but the way this ties to your multi-table rolling idea I believe is unique. As much as I like to think my group won't trip me up, they will inevitably ask to go into the one shop I gloss over because there's not supposed to be anything interesting in there. Or they'll ask to go somewhere that I only have partially prepared with not near enough NPCs. So the ability to just check a couple of boxes or something and roll one up is very appealing to me.
Being able to add my own tables, as you stated, would also help me decide things like general disposition, voice characteristic, etc. That is, if I didn't already have something in mind. So making that and then (adding to your idea) having it make a note I can toss in my NPC section of the Campaign Manager (which I hope I would have, or some way to place the NPC in a certain shop of a certain town) for later use if it were come up again - or if I needed that character to become a villain after they piss him/her off!
This Campaign Manager is really minimal. I hope to see a lot more options in the future. In particular, an easy way to attach items, monsters, spells, and homebrews into notes. I think it would be awesome to be able to post item info on the manager, so both my players and I have easy access to reference their items.

Technically you can already do that using the tooltips (see the link in my signature for more info), but I agree the manager needs more work (and the staff already said they'll get to it after the character overhaul is released).

A campaign management tool that would be incredible for the DM would be an encounter builder / tracker. Below are some features I would love to see in a tool like this:
Encounter Builder
Encounters should be able to built either ahead of time or on the fly.
The player characters that are tied to the campaign should be considered present by default, but it should be possible to select/deselect which characters are involved in the encounter.
When building the encounter, an "Add Monster" button would take you to the monster list to allow you to select monsters with the nice search features already implemented.
Once monsters have been added, it should be possible to specify the number of each type present.
Allow for monsters to be renamed. For example, rather than Bugbear and wolf, it's possible to rename them Klarg and Ripper.
Monsters that are built into the encounter should allow for easy access of their description / stats.
There should be a difficulty rating calculator based on monster CR/EXP, number of monsters, party size, and level.
Encounter Tracker
Once the encounter starts, it should allow for either automatic initiative rolling for combatants individually, or for manual entry. For example, players roll their physical dice for initiative which gets manually entered. DM presses button to auto-determine initiative for each individual NPC.
Allow for toggling condition & status effects
Incorporate spell options and effects - For example: Bard casts vicious mockery on Monster, tracker asks "Save success or failure," when selecting failure, tracker flags monster to have disadvantage on next attack, after next attack disadvantage gets removed by tracker.
Track spell concentration
Allow for easy HP adjustment
Track Death Saves if HP = 0
Character and Monsters should be shown as an expandable banner. When not expanded, the banner shows: Name, HP, AC, Movement, Conditions, Concentrating (if Yes) On [Spell], & the name of any buff / debuff. When expanding monster banner, it shows their stat block & actions.
A set of buttons to resolve the encounter once it's begun. To include: End Encounter Award XP, End Encounter - No XP. The Award XP option automatically divides the xp amoung the party and gives it to the characters who participated in the encounter.
It should be possible to add more monsters in the middle of the fight. For example, after the 3rd round of combat: "the sounds of fighting in the hall has alerted the group of bandits in the room ahead, they rush out and join the fight." This could be accomplished by the "Add Monster" button, or by merging prepared encounters mid-fight.
I currently use Kobold Fight Club on an iPad to prepare and track encounters while I DM. It does an adequate job, but it's far from being the comprehensive tool that WotC can create.
YES. This. ALL of this. This is a well-articulated and pretty darn comprehensive list of encounter building and initiative tracking functionality that we are dying to see. This post deserves a promote!

Who cares about mobile when you can't even make an option to limit what material I can share with my players. Or make a simple combat tracker. Or make a customizable DM screen. Or make an efficient way to pass electronic notes to players. The way messages works now is a joke. I easier to email my players while at the table.
Making a character and looking up rules is about all you can do on here. Those are great key things but how about you start making stuff for the DM?

Building the framework for the tools and adding substantial features has held larger priority than the items you've listed. Unfortunately, Rome wasn't built overnight, but rather over the course of prioritized installations. The community members who have been here for months now have shared their feedback, and that feedback has led us to where we are today. Rather than dismissing anything/everything you don't care to use, I would have suggested you spent some period over the past 4 months as a member sharing your needs and desires with the development team - as they have often asked.
The features you have mentioned are in progress. Having mobile support is simply more important than an introductory combat tracker, as rated by the community. Please continue to be patient, take part in community feedback in a constructive manner, and use which ever means of passing electronic notes to your players is easiest for you.
D&D Beyond isn't going anywhere and the features & toolset is growing on a daily basis.
I have posted and thumbs uped posts on DM features only to get responses like yours. The Player to DM ratio in D&D is overwhelmingly in favor of players, so yes most of your feedback will be for player features.
Here's a feature being asked for by many. The ability to only share specific books with the players in my campaign. How hard can it be to limit what each account can see when that's in place already when real money is involved. This feature is one of the top requests on the forums yet still nothing. Also how hard can it be to have a place for the DM to take notes. Add a tab along the top of each account that says "notes" that brings up a basic word doc type thing. Some of the DM features we need are very simple. Simple DM features upgrades should be happening in conjunction with player updates. Not "we will get to it". I understand combat trackers are more work and will come later but ALL DM features seem to have been moved to the very last stage and with new books constantly coming out that's a very long wait.

Features will be ready when they are ready, is what it comes down to. They can be the hardest features to program, or the easiest - when the staff is ready to release it, they will. They are well aware of the features being asked for, including metrics of tallied votes behind it. This is obviously why mobile access has been released before the smaller features you're concerned about.
I would advise you use what is currently available, or wait until the desired tools are released and take another look. Perhaps you may even want to gain WOTC partnership yourself and develop a comparable digital D&D toolset, since it's all so simple and you have all the answers. By all means, show me how it's done.
