I'd like to be able to create Patrons in the homebrew section and being able to create spell slots.
Patrons are just... warlock subclasses. You already have the ability to make patrons.

Neutralista, Thnx! I had not expected patrons to be a subclass, because they are otherworldly.
Next you're gonna tell me that you expect bards to actually go to College or Wizards to go to School, or Rogues to find an Archetype to embody! :P (but yes, each class's subclasses are called different things. Patrons are for Warlock subclasses, Colleges for Bards, Schools for Wizards, Archetypes for Rogues, Circles for Druids, etc etc etc)

Be able to add spells to homebrew feats that actually use spell slots.
It's frustrating that feats from various source books are able to do this (i.e. Gift of the Metallic Dragon from Fizban's Treasury of Dragons), however if we want to flavour the feat to suit our current campaign we can't create a homebrew version that works the same way.
Or, if this is not something that can be changed, the ability to customise feat text similarly to how you can customise items.

Haha, as not yet being that experienced in homebrew, it's more that I expected it to be creatable separately, because an otherwordly patron can also be chosen when you create a Bloodhunter, Order of the Profane soul. It is a higher entity, not limited to the Warlock. Most people don't think in subclasses. They want to create something they can choose. It would be nice if you could create something like a school/college/achetype etc., directly from the dropdown menu. If you want to create a weapen, first thing you look for in the menu is not magic item.

heh. *true*, but Blood Hunter isn't official either. But you do have a point.

1. switches (that work) in the character creator that allow choices restricted to:
a. The Essentials Kit Rules (2015 SRD); for new GMs with new Players who don't need or want to be overwhelmed by the full myriad of possibilities of the multiverse.
b. The Core Rules ONLY; for GMs who use the core rules only, and don't use any 'splat' in their games.
(Even the base free character creator with everything switched off still gives options for things from supplemental material without including all the core material.)
2. Sidekick classes as a character builder class option, that fully integrates character races with sidekick classes, AND outputs them on their own sheet; rather than creating an incomplete entry tied to a single player character's sheet that can't be easily edited for racial abilities etc.
3. The character creator should allow output to and viewing the character sheet at any stage of character creation.
Days of Auld Lang Syne, a wooden pencil, a pad of paper, one set of dice, and a shared soft cover rulebook. "It is a mistake to bow to the wishes of munchkins who whine." --E Gary Gygax Don't feel bad when the DM says no, you can't play a halftabaxidragonborndrowpachytortle bardbarianpaliwarlockmonk with Great Weapon Master and a +5 unholydarksundoubleswordstaff. If you can't say something useful, or constructive, don't say nothin' at all, and if your opinion isn't asked; don't give it.
What I would like to see in DND beyond? Honestly, one nice thing would be more versatility in creating gear and weapons, both magical and non magical.
specifically for weapons, the ability to build one from the ground up, rather then just slap an existing one on as a template would be nice, with the ability to select if it's a melee or ranged, damage type, damage dice, and weapon properties to create something wholly unique from existing weapons.
As an example, My DM is old school, he does everything on paper, including his unique items. One example was a special sling he designed called the Zing Sling. It was a +2 sling with three unique properties. First off in addition to the normal +2 damage it did, it also did one point of acid, one fire, and one lightning damage on hit, so basically it had +2 to hit, +5 damage. The next property it had was it let you make an attack as a bonus action if you used the sling to take the attack action. Both those properties can be done in beyond, but the last one could not, and that's that the weapons range was 50/150 and that can't be changed currently in beyond. (and unfortunately he was super adamant on those ranges and wouldn't budge, and also wouldn't budge on the damage dice, so I couldn't say use a boomerang or something else with closer ranges as the base, as the damage would be off.)
So the ability to create a weapon that I can customize all it's properties would be nice. Plus perhaps being able to create wholly unique properties for weapon would also be a nice touch, like one I had for a shotgun that let it hit a second creature next to the main target. being able to make that in innate property of a custom shotgun would be nice, or make other interesting properties that can be documented somewhere, and then tagged onto my homebrew would be awesome.

I agree, I love the idea of being able to limit character creation to specific material, like for example if you DON'T like Tasha's version of the blade singer, you can turn off Tasha's content and use the Sword Coast version, or if you're doing one of the starter/essential's kit campaigns for some new players (I'm actually in such a group with 4 out of 6 players brand new to the game with zero dnd experience) and it'd be nice to set up a campaign, and only allow PHB, DMG, MM content so as to keep them from being overwhelmed with all the stuff I personally have access too.
10/10 suggestion right there mate.
Also YES on the sidekick builder. I personally LOVE sidekicks (despite most of my other playgroup basically snubbing their noses to them) and an easy way to build one on here would be SO nice. Quick "Pick a state block" then "Pick the class" then "Pick the level" and "Pick spells" if applicable would be great. quick and easy sidekicks. and maybe an option for player characters to use sidekick classes wouldn't hurt, though perhaps just bring the base stat blocks from the essentials kit for that would work better.
What I would like to see in DND beyond? Honestly, one nice thing would be more versatility in creating gear and weapons, both magical and non magical.
I had the same issue making a unique magic item "mithral skin" for my campaign. I wanted to make an entirely new armor but I had to make it "studded leather" to get it to do what I wanted on the character sheet. So my not-studded-leather armor says "Armor (studded leather), very rare" at the top and "Made from tough but flexible leather, studded leather is reinforced with close-set rivets or spikes." at the bottom, and I can't get rid of those.

Out of curiosity, what exactly was this Mithril Skin?
Sidekicks are deliberately austere like a monster stat block so they can be used without the same level of effort. Just like a Tasha's Custom Dwarf doesn't have poison resistance, not every sidekick needs it's racial features in order to be used.
Some sidekicks/NPCs do need their abilities, for some GMs, in some games (mine), and it would be a handy way to build and keep recurring NPCs that need some stats, but don't need fully detailed class features and PC sheets. It is annoying that sidekicks are tied into a PC's sheet and treated like equipment rather than supporting characters. At a live table they're quick cards that can be transferred between players. Having them output as a monster or NPC stat block or card is great, just not tied to a PC. It's tedious and time consuming to have to build them individually as a monster stat block, when the resource to quick build them on their own sheet (with racial abilities if you want to use them) is already there, if it were just set up.
Lastly: the question was asked "What would you like to see in D&D Beyond", and I answered that question. "I would like to see sidekicks as a character builder class option." I did not ask for anyone to give me an explanation or their opinion as to why they think that the system doesn't or shouldn't do it. The question was asked, I answered.

They are stat blocks, just like monsters, with rules to add to them, and you can... add those racial features, just like you can add spell levels to monsters. They are as simple or complex as you want them to be.

Note that these sidekick stat blocks are from Dragon of IceSpire Peak, and are not the Tasha’s sidekicks. Some of them can be adapted to the Tasha’s rules fairly easily.
