It occurred to me recently that a multiclass barbarian 2/rogue 1 can make a Reckless Sneak Attack
Now, mechanically, getting advantage on an attack just about whenever you want as a rogue seems awesome. In terms of the story you're telling with that interaction, though, umm...
Reckless Attack
Starting at 2nd level, you can throw aside all concern for defense to attack with fierce desperation. When you make your first attack on your turn, you can decide to attack recklessly.
Sneak Attack
Beginning at 1st level, you know how to strike subtly and exploit a foe’s distraction.
I guess charging recklessly at your opponent can be distracting?
Are there any other combinations of features/abilities that are useful, but seems remarkably silly when used together?

Active characters:
Carric Aquissar, elven wannabe artist in his deconstructionist period (Archfey warlock) Lan Kidogo, mapach archaeologist and treasure hunter (Knowledge cleric) Mardan Ferres, elven private investigator obsessed with that one unsolved murder (Assassin rogue) Xhekhetiel, halfling survivor of a Betrayer Gods cult (Runechild sorcerer/fighter)
Reckless Attack doesn't mean that you're flailing wildly. It means that you're no longer trying to dodge or parry and concentrating entirely on offense.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
However you want to define the word reckless, it's not exactly conducive to "striking subtly" or "exploiting a foe's distraction"

Sure it is. Reckless in this context means not giving thought your defense. It says so right in the description. Where does it say anything about “charging”?
Frankly, your definition of reckless is too narrow and you’re ignoring what’s written in the rule. Sure, charging across a 50 meter courtyard while screaming to attack your foe with a crab fork IS reckless, but it’s not the definition used in the rule. Here, in this context, is means “throwing aside concern for defense” and “attack with fierce desperation”. No charging, flailing etc required.
So you sneak up on the guard, subtly hide behind a pillar and when he’s admiring the slave girl walking by, you jump out from behind the pillar snd give him a mighty two hand overhand chop with your great axe from behind right where neck and shoulder meet. IF he turns around, he can stab you right thu the heart..
It's possible to render a PC light enough and large enough to act as the balloon for a hot air balloon.
Ingredients:
1) L18 Rune Knight
2) Fairy, Small (halfling weight is fine, but since WOTC can't be bothered giving you actual game mechanics, go for broke and ask your DM for kobold weight). The racial spell is key as well.
3) A friendly L2 Graviturgist.
Recipe:
1) Small Fairy casts Reduce on Self, dividing weight by 8. Fairy is now Tiny.
2) Graviturgist uses Adjust Density to cut the fairy's weight in half.
3) Fairy uses Rune Knight to become Huge without gaining weight.
The Fairy should now weigh about 1.5625 pounds and be at least 16 feet tall (unless someone knows of a Huge biped shorter than a Hill Giant). In relative terms, they're at 1/16 their original weight and 512 times their original volume, so 1/8192 their original density. If they started at roughly as dense as water, say 997kg/m^3, they're now at slightly more thab 0.12 kg/m^3. That's about 150% (heavily rounding) as dense as hydrogen, and about 75% the density of helium.
I have a 5/5 Barb Rogue and it's quite good. Revenant Double Bladed Scimitar is finesse and gets you three attacks. Uncanny Dodge on top of Rage makes you extremely durable, as does Danger Sense combined with Evasion. Extra Movement on top of Cunning Action means you can get anywhere. Proficient in 7 skills, expertise in 2 more. All this is irrespective of your subclass choices.
You lose some HP, have fewer rages, and your SA is only half of a full rogues, but they've been acceptable costs for what I got. As for Reckless + Sneak Attack, I just see it as him getting in close with little regard for defense in order to hit vital organs. Make sense to me, although I do see how the default flavor of both mechanics seem at odds.

I don’t see any contradiction.
Conan was a Barbarian/ Thief.

Sneak, subtle…. Reckless.
