It's not cool to drop a bigger discount on the last day of the sale after most of us have already bought books thinking the sale price is the sale price.
The bigger discount was mentioned prior to this happening. However, it does seem a bit off the way they did it, they should have just done the one sale for the whole period.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.

yeah, not sure what the surprise was. It was mentioned on the front page, in the announcements, on facebook, in the emails, on twitter....
the timing is super unusual for sure and one sale would have obviously been a better choice. but everyone knew this was coming, it was not a surprise.
There was a sign on the front page that said select books would be discounted further on Cyber Monday, but it would've been good to know which books rather than having to hope the book you wanted was reduced by ~$6.

Zero is the most important number in D&D: Session Zero sets the boundaries and the tone; Rule Zero dictates the Dungeon Master (DM) is the final arbiter; and Zero D&D is better than Bad D&D.
"Let us speak plainly now, and in earnest, for words mean little without the weight of conviction."
Yeah, I got two emails, one that wasn't too specific and one for the extra sale. I wasn't scouring D&D Beyond or social media for flyers, nor should I be expected to.
::Shrug:: Now I know to wait for the absolute last day before doing any purchases. Not the smartest move to train customers to do, but but that'll be the result.
Also, the listing isn’t clear. Is the sale for physical books or just digital? And if they are physical, does it include a download code?
It's just digital content. I would like for that disclaimer being added to each book's store page given how often the question is asked and answer debated.

You saw the price before and made a decision that you were willing to pay that amount for the product. The product has not changed, and you're not entitled to any future adjustments.
When you have a scoop of ice cream and someone else walks in with two scoops of ice cream, you have a choice. You can enjoy your delicious ice cream or you can get all upset that someone else got more. Which approach seems healthier to you? Don't let what could have been or what others got rob you of the enjoyment of what you have.
It’s bad brand management. I have all the books and I’m happy to pay a higher price if I don’t want to wait for sales, but these kinds of tiered sales don’t generate much good feeling among your consumer base.

That's a dumb argument, but enjoy coming in to scold and pay more for less. I would have bought more if I knew the higher discount, but I passed on other items out of principle. If I buy them, I'll make sure it's at the last day and highest discount, which is now at 30% before touching another item. Because I've been trained by them.
Hey D&D Beyond,
It's not cool to drop a bigger discount on the last day of the sale after most of us have already bought books thinking the sale price is the sale price.
Glad to see I am not the only one feeling this way. In hindsight I missed some news/assumed the Friday discount was the major discount.
Sure, I love the discounts I had earlier this weekend.. but to see them even cheaper so shortly after still stings.
As someone who thought, "Gee, I wonder..." and checked today and got something I shouldn't, I'll agree. It's still a jerky process.

- The Assemblage of Houses, World of Warcraft
Well I wasn't going to buy the remaining 3 adventures. But 1 of them dropped further in price, so I bought the 2 that were discounted.

No, no you can't. They said they wouldn't even when I didn't ask, but just emailed to tell them it wasn't a smart move.
Sounds like a reverse door buster, which isn't really a thing elsewhere in discount world.
Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.

Heh, I think that's the best way to put it!
