This is based on Story, Statistics, and if it makes sense, (i.e. Kobold Barbarian doesn't make sense), and only using the basic rules, EEPC, and Volo's
Your poll is very subjective and isn't even set up in a way that can reflect the race/class combo results (also, subraces can significantly change the power of a combo).
Anyway, I said Aaracokra monk (particularly: way of the sun soul). Many DMs ban Aaracokras from campaigns. Now mine do too. My character had (with standard array) 16 DEX, 16 WIS, 13 CON, and the rest of his scores didn't matter (actually they did, because it was a mystery campaign, and he had 8 INT, so was not good at clues), 16 unarmored AC (decent), 60 feet flying speed, and could fire 1d4+3 radiant darts from his knuckles up to 30 feet. Monks can also catch projectiles. My level 3 monk solo'd an animated tree.
But, yeah, as far as "best" goes... An aaracokra monk has very high mobility, and the right build can cheese fights or ruin certain dungeons, but it isn't suited for every campaign (like mysteries). No build is best at everything.
A half-elf Sorcerer is really good. Since you have +2 Charisma and 2 other free points, you can put the others on Charisma too and have a ridiculous spellcasting modifier like 22 (+6) at first level. Dragonborn Fighter is also good because the extra Strength, Constitution, and Charisma. You also have a base AC of 12.

The race/class combos are fine, but none of these explanations are true.
Half-elves can't put the 2 +1s into CHA or even the same stat. You can't have a stat over 20 without a magic item or class feature that says so. Dragonborn don't boost CON or AC.
I am partial to the Half-elf Paladin because simply, Str, Cha, and Con, and you become the most versitile paladin you can be with an Oath that makes certain things un-doable. also because oath of Redemption requires a bunch of diplomacy, and Half elves are good diplomats! Sadly, it doesn't matter, since my friend is a murder hobo... so no redemption oath for me.
The sole reason I found it funny that my choice combo had the most, because their really is no way to tell which combo is the best based on the way the poll is designed.
I kind of like dragonborn paladins because they gain bonuses to the paladin's main skills, Strength and Charisma, but a Tabaxi monk also seems sorta cool
Fallen aasimar paladin, resistance to radiant and necrotic damage, +1 to Strength, +2 to Charisma, both stats necessary for a great paladin, darkvision, light cantrip, Healing Hands, which is basically a minor version of Lay on Hands, which is a nice buff, Celestial language, which nearly no one takes so this is nice, and Necrotic Shroud which allows you to temporarily frighten up to 18 medium creatures, and for 1 minute one attack or spell on each turn gets extra necrotic damage equal to your level, which is really good for paladins, for a level 20 paladin, that is 200 extra damage over the course of a minute.
Fallen Aasimar are the best paladins, especially Oathbreaker and Oath of Conquest Paladins.
This is the best race-class combination in the game. Change my mind.

I know that you can't vote for it but a Variant Human Blood Hunter with the Lycan Blood Hunter Order is really OP and I always love playing them. The Feat from the Variant Human is pretty handy as well as with the Blood Hunter, Lycan you gain resistance to Bludgeoning, Piercing and Slashing and +1 to AC also you can use a bonus action to use your Unarmed Strike again.
nothing better then a goblin fighter wielding a greatsword
A Greatsword has the Heavy property and Goblins are small creatures. Small creatures have disadvantage when wielding heavy weapons.
That's why you play a Kobold with a greatsword. Sunlight Sensitivity and the Heavy property aren't a big deal if you can cancel out the disadvantage. Sure you might be thinking, -2 Strength is bad for a barabrian, and you'd be right. Still can't help but imagine the shear horror on the looks of all the monsters you slay with a sword 1.5x the size of your character.

I believe that any race or class you find fun is the best combo to play.
That being said Aarakocra are awesome and everyone should play one. ;)

I am starting to think you're biased. lol

I must admit that I do love that Yuan-ti Pureblood Bard seems to be the favorite combination. At least those two have the most votes so far.
I just Realized the poll part is useless because it doesn't show the combinations. it just shows that 4 people chose cleric! I feel stupid...🤦

I mentioned that in my post. At least a few people have just gone through and selected almost every option.
At least you have the people who commented their combos.

Half-elf bard. Good fit, good ability score spread. Not out of place in most settings. "Best" is subjective. ;)
Kalashtar Barbarian - Totem Warrior - Bear. Just halve all the damage all the time.
Partway through the quest for absolute truth.
