I'm a new DM, so I don't have many good stories yet, but I did have one player that, although he probably didn't know it, made me feel a lot better about my situation.
I was trying to set up a new campaign, and it was HARD. This was the first time I had ever tried online DMing, and it was very difficult to get into. I tried to have a group with some of my friends, and just have an overall good time. But when I started my session 0, only one guy showed up. This guy was a good friend of mine, and I had known him for years. I was learning to use Roll20 at the time, and I had to learn all the mechanics of online character sheets and mapping, and this guy sat through ALL of it. He set up a character sheet, learned a bit of what the campaign was going to be, and left the lobby. I was devastated that only one person showed up, but he said one thing to brighten my experience. "I can tell you've been working hard on this, so thank you." It was all I needed. Someone to acknowledge the work I put into learning the program and writing the campaign. To all you players out there, remember to thank your DM. It might just give them the help they need to keep going on and making campaigns for you to enjoy.

"No one hits like Gaston, no one crits like Gaston, no one's on page two hundred and six like Gaston."
I was reading a player a brief bit of backstory related stuff that I tied into their recent quest - her character was obtaining a new power related to her background - right as I finished reading it her nose started bleeding... A LOT.
She cleaned it up and said it wasn't on purpose (that would be creepy) but it was basically her internal reaction to everything that just happened with her character.

"That was fun" is probably the best one to hear.
WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.
My brother said he hated me, but loved that I made him sweat during one shot prologue.
"I can't WAIT until next session." Its the moment that you have really hooked someone.
When my players finally figured out my Agatha Christie-styled murder mystery: “holy s@$&, how did you do that?”

I left a big cliff hanger and calmly tell them I was ending the session that night, and everybody screamed NOOOOOO!
