Leshies are small forest sprites originally created by Fantasia. They are typically good creatures who follow her around and act much like children to her.
She fashions such child-like entities out of a variety of plant material, such as leaves, fly-traps, gourds, lichens, mosses, flowers, and vines. Unsurprisingly the Leaf Leshies are the most common of her children and tend to the forest around them as well as swarming near her, revering her as a mother and goddess.
Other Leshies live in different environments or attempt to succeed at certain things, but the most unique of her children are the Vine Leshies. They were born with a vines nature to creep and climb. They seek out new lands to explore and spread their kind. Fantasia has allowed them free roam. Of all the Leshies only the Vine Leshies have manage to create their own culture. Small as they are they are widely accepted by the Wild Elves and the Bogfolk.
Vine Leshy Traits
Your Vine Leshy has the following traits
Ability Score Increase: Your Wisdom score increases by 2, and either your Constitution or your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Age: Leshies have no determinable age range, though they typically can live as long as any other race.
Alignment: Vine Leshies are typically neutrally or neutral good aligned. They are curious explorers but would rather do the right thing than harm others.
Size: Leshies rarely stand taller than 3 or 4 feet, your size is small.
Speed: Your base walking speed is 25 feet, in addition you have a base Climbing speed of 20 feet.
Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Type: You are a Plant.
Innate Spellcasting: You know the Thorn Whip cantrip. Once per day you can also cast Goodberry with this trait without spending a Spell Slot. Starting at 3rd level, you can also cast Pass without Trace in this way. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast Speak with Plants in this way. Once you cast any of these spells with this trait, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest. Once you cast this spell, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Verdant Burst: When they die, a vine leshy explodes in a burst of fertile energies. All plant creatures (including other Leshies and Ghorans https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/117904-ghorans-attempt-2-making-a-pathfinder-race-5e ) within 30 feet of the slain leshy regain hit 1d8 points, and vines quickly infest the area. If the terrain can support vines, the undergrowth is dense enough to make the region into difficult terrain for 24 hours, after which the plant life diminishes to a normal level; otherwise, this plant life has no significant effect on movement and withers and dies within an hour.
At One with the Woods: A Leshies plant-like body is easily hidden amongst in the underbrush and canopies. You have advantage on Stealth checks to hide amongst foliage and plantlife.
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.
Racial Feat: Poisonous: Prerequisite: Leshy: You can imbue your unarmed attacks with naturally occurring poison. As a bonus action you can imbue your next unarmed attack with your poison. The next target that takes damage from your unarmed attack must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or be poisoned a number of rounds equal to your Proficiency bonus. You can do this a number of times per day equal to your Constitution Modifier and regain all expended uses of this feature after spending a long rest.
This mostly seems fine, although the feat is probably too strong. A level 4 monk getting 3-4 chances to poison a target for multiple rounds every round is too much. It needs a use restriction.
For verdant burst, you need to use 5e language because "slain" is not recognized terminology. Is it when you are reduced to 0 hit points or when you die outright?
My only other issue would be the 20ft movement speed, which I think is going to be pretty harsh in practice. For any melee build that's going to translate into a number of combats where they lose the first round just trying to close. The 25 foot minimum for published races is in there for this reason.
Are there more plants in Pathfinder or something? That Verdant Burst looks like a monster feature, not a player feature -- you're never gonna have even a single other plant around, I feel, unless you're the DM and you're building a plant encounter. (5e is notably lacking in plant related encounters. It's part of the reason Rangers are so bad. A very small part.)
The spells are great. Like really very good. You usually have to include at least one that uses a spell attack or save, or so it seems to me. So that there's at least one that's potentially less useful. But these are all bangers. The additional bonus to Stealth (ignoring PWT!) is good.
I think I'd have a tough time interacting with these guys or getting into the head space of one long-term, but mechanically they look alright.

The Verdant Burst has synergy with other Leshies and the Ghoran* race (there are other plant races in pathfinder). I can see the disparity however.

The feat has been retooled to require a bonus action to trigger for one attack and can be used a set number of times per day (con mod).
Verdant burst has been changed to "die"", it still retains ins synergy with other Leshy and Ghorans (found in another one of my threads).
The walking speed was 20 in pathfinder, I figured the base walking speed of 20 would balance out some of their more powerful features, but I will adjust their speed to 25. Their climbing speed will remain 20 however.
