For a couple of days I've been trying to create a race which speed and size increases with levels (on 5th and 15th level to be exact) but I just can't figure out how to get this to work. I've tried every parameter and option combination I can come up with but no luck (either the increased speed have been applied on first level or the base speed doesn't increase at all despite the level). Could someone kindly walk me through how to accomplish this?
That wouldn’t have been possible until very recently when they updated the race builder to include the new “Required Character Level” field for racial traits. I’m not sure if you can get the size to increase as I haven’t tried that yet, but to get the speed to increase you would create a new racial trait that lists “5” in that new field and apply the following Modifier to it:
Modifier: Bonus->Subtype: Speed->Fixed Value: X
Thank you for the quick reply!
I tried the suggested solution but I couldn't get the speed increase to work (the size increase is quite trivial so it doesn't matter if that is not doable). I created a racial trait and tried every feature type with same config (required character level: 5 and then added modifier asper your instruction). When using feature type "Granted" the bonus speed was added right from the lvl 1. With feature types "Additional" and "Replacement" I couldn't see the increased speed at all. With all of the different options I tried increasing, decreasing the level multiple times with no effect. I Also tested with different devices to eliminate any caching issues.
So am I still missing something or doing something wrong? Should I add some parameters as options for the racial trait or something?

I don’t know what to tell you, I just tested it myself and it worked perfectly. I set the base walking speed under Basic Information to 30 feet, then I created a Granted (never Additional or Replacement) racial trait as follows:

You seem very knowledgeable. I want to set a subclass ability so it has a save DC like it appears like this picture (The Daunting Roar from Leonin), how do I writing that so it appears like this? file:///C:/Users/higgi/Downloads/Daunting%20Roar%20example.pdf

You create the feature and then add an Action to it. Fill out the following fields:
Afterwords you will need to edit the Action and scroll all the way to the bottom to add the limited uses.
I found a subclass from a homebrewer on Twitter and got their permission to add it for my own use on DnD Beyond. One of the 1st level features includes language that I've had some trouble converting into Class Features:
"When you make an Athletics check for the purposes of grappling a creature, you can add your proficiency bonus twice instead of your normal bonus, and you use your Wisdom modifier instead of Strength.
While a creature is grappled by you, you can use a bonus action on your turn to make a melee spell attack roll against it. On a hit, you deal 1d8 cold or psychic damage. The damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8)."
Currently, I have the Athletics check as a Modifier "Modifier: Bonus - Athletics | Restriction: Athletics checks for the purpose of grappling a creature". I don't know how to add the proficiency bonus twice, though. For the damage, I don't know how to get it to offer the choice of Cold or Psychic damage. I just have it as flavor text in a table in Level Scaling. And I have the four damage dice values just listed for each level: "Level: 1 | Dice: 1d8 | Description: Melee spell attack (on successful Grapple), Cold or Psychic damage", then for Level 5, "Dice: 2d8", for level 11, "Dice: 3d8", and level 17, "Dice: 4d8". I think it all just shows as text. I don't think there's any kind of function to any of it, as it currently exists. Is there anyone who would be able and willing to give me some tips/guidance?
I'm working on a race right now where one of the traits gives the player a set of "a la cart" to pick from. Basically in a list of ten abilities you pick three. I found how to put multiple options for a feature, but I don't know how to make it so you can pick three of the features instead of just one. Do I just have to enter the variable feature two extra times and trust the players is smart enough to not pick the same option twice, or is there a few to do it in one trait like I'd like it to?

In the “Levels Where Options Known” field you enter “1,1,1” and it will allow them to choose 3 options as soon as they select their class and officially become 1st level characters.

There is no way to get the system to offer a choice of damage types, you can either do it the way you’re doing it and only have the one button, or you can designate it as one of the damage types and then replicate the Action with the other damage type and leave it up to the player to choose the one they want. Personally I would do it the way you’re doing it and only have the one button as it’s cleaner since the damage type is irrelevant as far as DDB’s system is concerned since nothing interacts with anything else directly.
I was Wondering if someone could help me. im making a sub class for warlock and there's an optional feature that increases the ability score by 2. i cant get this to go above 20, ive tried the suggestion above on how to do it but its still not working. if there's any other things i can try that would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't go through all 7 pages looking for this question (though I did go through the FAQ), so I apologize if this is a repeat.
I want to create a supergroup of monsters, like Dragons or Giants, where stats change by age and subtype, but there is a fairly extensive shared cultural context. Is that possible with homebrew, or do I have to create every age group and subtype separately? I don't think these are appropriate to create as a playable race because they get Huge and are meant to rival dragons or giants in power, but I don't know where to store their background information in available boxes for monsters.
You would have to create each age group and subtype separately, just like they they had to do for the official monsters. You would also have to select one of the existing monster types as a designation for your monsters. You would stick information in the monster’s “Description” field.
Thank you for the quick reply!

No, the “Rules” tab is for official content only.
