Is it possible to tie a flat damage bonus to proficiency bonus with a feat or wondrous item? For example an unarmed strike that normally has a 1d4+3 might get bumped to 1d4+5, which eventually scales to a +9 at level cap.
I’m not sure I understand quite what you are asking. Did you want to add a bonus to PB? Did you want to add a flat bonus to unarmed strike damage? Or are you trying to add PB to the damage rolls for unarmed strikes? Technically all three of those are possible (or at least I think they all are). I think you want to add PB to unarmed strike damage. Yes? If so, then here’s how:

Yes, I wanted to add the proficiency bonus to damage so that it scales automatically as I level. Thank you for the assist!
I was planning on having an option to play as a facsimile of a Dragonborn Champion (so, basically, Metallics being able to choose Radiant, Chromatics being able to choose Necrotic, and Gems being able to choose Fire), and also adding those options (as well as the 5 vanilla gem variants) to Draconic Ancestry Sorcerers. But, is there a way to handle it as an optional rule, or would I have to make full duplicate subclass and race variants to get that to work? Thanks for the answer!
Out of curiosity, Sposta, what was the most difficult (because of complexity, time consumption, etc.) homebrew you’ve made in the DDB builder?
That’s a tough call. It’s one of these two:
A Fighter subclass with multiple features at each subclass level (3rd, 7th, 10th, 15th, & 18th) that all had Options that were all reliant on previous choices and branched like a tree. At 3rd-level it 2 features with a total of 5 Options, by18th level I needed to program a total of 50 different options across 8 subclass features. (Woofta!)
My adaptation of The Witcher to 5e. It required a subclass, a feat, and I think 20 spells to complete it he project. And since I never played The Witcher games it required over 2 solid weeks of research to get it right: (ddb.ac/characters/62333718/5oU1OE).

Wow. 50 options…. I think I would just give up before starting that 😂.

yeahh okay how did you add that in. the "help" bit. I'm stuck on that. In the sense of making it so you can see the link to another DND Beyond article like a link.

Are you talking about tooltips?
If so, the “How to add tooltips” thread should help (or should I say help?). It’s the sixth thread in the Homebrew & House Rules forum.

I'm creating the Bracers of Graceful Violence-- a set of leather bracers which grant +1 bonus to unarmed attack and damage.
Could anyone recommend the best way to do this? Weapon seems wrong because the generator asks for base damage, but a shield would require the AC bonus to be negated.
Would love some guidance! Thanks!

You would have to do them as duplicate subclasses & variants.
