There is absolutely no need to purchase this subclass unless you want to, it is “Pay What You Want,” so if you only want to pay $0.00 you can. You don’t even need an account with DM’s Guild and you can view two different previews of the subclass.
It’s, like, 3 clicks to download, or 1 click to view a full preview. It’s as more clicks to go through my daily DDB PMs.
And now I have a new PDF on my computer.
Delete it if you don’t want to keep it. You can always download it for free again (with fewer clicks) because you’ve already “purchased” it once. Although, my hope is that you’ll like it enough to keep it.
I forgot you can preview things there.
And you don’t even need an account with that site to preview things, with only 1 click.
I make it as easy as I can for folks, I just also wanna raise awareness of my brand is all.
Huh, that is weird? Logged in today after waking up to check if others had voted and to read feedback if there was any. The form only gave me the option to vote again, but not to see replies. I thought you might have resetted it when fixing the settings and deleted my vote in the process. So I voted again, and now I can see the results - but my old vote is still there.
What to do now? Can you delete my old vote? My votes so far are the only two ones with written feedback for most options, and do not have answers for the inspirational options (which I would add later).
Weird, I'm not a forms expert by any stretch, but I would assume that it's because you wouldn't have needed to sign in to Google to submit your first return so the poll wouldn't have known it was you.
I'm not sure how to retrospectively attribute votes to the four people who had already voted as I can't see who submitted which returns prior to adding the 'sign in' requirement.
If you message me your previous scores though I will manually delete them from the total so you've only voted the once.
I just edited my second vote and removed everything, turned it into an empty vote - and then added votes for the inspirational options as I did not vote for them in my original vote. Now it should be fine, no more double votes :-)
For metallum nostrum, are players allowed to draw/stow items in order to retrieve and use a musical instrument? Do they have to drop what else they are holding? Do they need to already be holding the instrument? It feels like theres alot of overlap between the existing subclass features and the benefits granted by the homebrew spells. Additionally, a 5th level spell granting an at-will quickened casting of a 1st level spell feels unbalanced.
For metallum nostrum, they are allowed to take out their musical instruments. I don't see an issue with that, I am generally a relaxed DM when it comes to item interactions. Also, you can easily sling something like a guitar over your shoulder and use your arms for casting or attacking while you are not playing it.
Where do you see the overlaps with the homebrew spells? The only overlaps I see is that Symphony of Power grants a reaction attack if upcast (which I don't think is bad as Amen & Attack has limited uses for the reaction attack) and that Investiture of Metal and the CD both get rid of silencing effects. The spell dispells them though, while the CD only supresses them for one round. Also, you are free to give these spells to other classes, like bards :-)
Regarding Investiture of Metal, it feels overpowered if you view it as you did. But you need to look at the spell in question instead of just going "1st level spell as a bonus action is broken". It deals 2d8 thunder damage in a small AoE. That is the same as a d8 cantrip at that level, less than Booming Blade due to it being a weapon attack, and two levels later, all your cantrips deal more damage - even the d6 AoE cantrips like Thunderclap. Also, clerics get Spiritual Weapon for bonus action attacks, and its 1d8+Mod damage is about as good as 2d8. If Investiture of Metal gave you Thunderwave as an action, the spell would be woefully underpowered just like the other Investiture spells. If it had nothing in place of Thunderwave, it would simply be a worse Holy Weapon or Spirit Shroud and not nearly as cool thematically.

I respectfully disagree that its a small area. A 15 foot cube is up to 9 creatures being targeted, which means that it exceeds a cantrip like Thunderclap both in individual damage (until you reach level 11) and number of potential targets, not to mention you have more freedom for orienting A.O.E to avoid allies. Additionally, thunderwave has the effect of pushing all of those targets up to 10 feet, a bonus that damage cantrips do not get unless you have some other feature modifying it like the Repelling Blast invocation for a warlock .You compare it also to Booming Blade and Spiritual Weapon, but both of those only gets to hit one creature every turn. On top of that, you get to use it as a bonus action. And that is on top of every other benefit granted by the other effects of Investiture of Metal.
Putting that aside, I will also say that, as a matter of personal opinion, having a spell effect that grants the ability to cast a different spell is kind of messy and unusual. It would probably be more in line with existing spell effects (and easier to balance) if you wrote a different damaging effect which was unique to the spell. It could be similar in spirit to thunderwave, but you could more easily adjust the range, damage, and rider effects to bring it in line with where you expect the spell as whole to be. I dont think for it to work well for this spell it necessarily needs all of the added push effects and noise stipulations that are tied to the existing Thunderwave spell.

Is there a better to get to Mage Martial - IamSposta than downloading from dmsguild? I'm not opposed to it, but some people don't like extra steps.

Perhaps. So many clicks though. And now I have a new PDF on my computer.

Thank you Dragon_Shark!! You need to alter the Google Form settings so that people can only submit 1 response though.

Thanks for the spot Semako and IamSposta, you should now only be able to submit 1 response and see the results.
Please let me know if this is not the case.

Semako,
The way it’s currently set up you can “submit” a blank form and then you’ll be able to view the previous results.
Dragon_Shark,
You should just be able to delete any duplicate submissions.

Even though it's too late to fix it, what do you guys think of my entry for the player options? (It's not on their because it's a magic item)

IamSposta, I think I will do exactly that, thank you.
Semako, thanks for the update and your honesty, appreciate it.
Of cousrse! What paladin would I be if I was lying? :-)
By the way, vote 13 seems to be a troll vote, they voted 1 for basically everything.
