The description for fomorians says that they were ALL cursed because of their foul heart. But SURLY there was a good fomorian somewhere. Were they cursed? If not, what would the stats for such a fomorian be?
Fomorians were cursed by the fey. Like most fey cursed races (I think of kenku and quicklings) the curse is all encompassing. A fomorian from before the curse was bestowed would look so much unlike a fomorian now it would be bizarre to call them the same name.
"The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a genteel Black Hole that knows how to read." - Terry Pratchett
That's.......... kind of a dick move on the fey's part. But in my world it's not all-encompassing. I decided this 30 seconds ago. What would the stats be? High charisma and intelligence coupled with some spells for sure.
Did you ever find a solution to this? Cause I would be interested to know how an uncursed Fomorian could be included in a game but I literally approached D&D a couple of weeks ago (as a player) and my grasp of the rules is too weak to even imagine how it would work
The D&D fomorians and being cursed by the Fey draws from actual Irish folklore from pre-Christianity. By all accounts, the Fomor^ were, like, evil spirits of the natural world that were defeated and deposed by the Tuath Dé.^^ (Kinda like how the Olympians deposed the Titans, only the Tuath Dé were nowhere near the wangrod that the Olympians were.) Although, in fairness to Yeetlord300, according to the stories, the Fey are *****.

Probably something like a mashup of a storm giant's INT and spellcasting, and the physical stats of a lesser giant (frost?)
If you wanted to introduce a "good" fomorian into your campaign, you could always go the Angel route -- their efforts to atone for their people have allowed their curse to recede or be suppressed, but if they do thing X, they revert

Gosh, it's almost like internet threads are ongoing conversations open to all, not just the OP.

I would be fine with thread ressurection if this was not 2 years dead. That said I would probally keep the normal stats, pump their cha way up and reflavor evil eye as a charm.Replacing curse of the evil eye as a straight up charm.
Gosh, it’s almost like directly quoting someone’s post, and responding to it, that it might give the impression one’s comment was directed towards that person…. 🤨

Hey, I wasn't the one who resurrected it, and the person who did was literally asking, "Did anyone come up with a good solution here?"
It only caught my eye on the main H&HR page because it was potentially relevant to a character backstory I'm puzzling over which leans into the body horror implications of a Rune Knight. Adding Fomorian elements might do the trick.

I've researched a little bit into this and what I've found is that the Fomorians that are related to the Celtic pantheon like Bren and his mother(I forgot her name, sorry) are described as darkly beautiful which is just giant people with long golden hair and from what I understand, a broad chest with narrow hips. So they basically are like empyreans in a sense. They often have abilities tied to some natural force of chaos and destruction, maybe with just the glance of an eye. But that's just my take on it though.
I'm a bit late to share this, but anyone else curious about this subject, I would suggest using the Empyrean stat block. You could also use a Storm Giant and add class levels of Sorcerer or Wizard. For details, the curse altered the life force of their species, so they are hereditarily cursed now, kind of like the Garden of Eden. Other than that, they'd probably look like any other Faewild beauty before the curse, with otherworldly beauty. With the Elves as a comparison, they may not have been as immalleable as normal creatures.
I'm a little more curious about where they were originally in the Ordning.
