"If we survive Brin, the first ale is on me." As Cyrasil rounds the last tree Ollezall bites his tongue from saying something and agrees with the Sargent we should move on before dark, adding more loudly "before those Worgs come back to finish what they started with the group"
As you continue, Celinde's Owl spots two more camouflaged patches from above.
"We could check them out. That could put us at the ridge about sundown, maybe a little after, depending on how things go or we could just skip them and get to the ridge just before sundown. What's everyone feeling up for? Want to do these before we set up camp?" Modesty asks
Cerlinde is for dealing with the caches quickly now, and then heading to the ridge for camp. (But she has darkvision so she is maybe less concerned with sunset). In any case, her owl can help watch out from above for those wargs, or other threats. “I think dealing with them now makes sense- they appear unguarded at the moment. Let’s move quickly” she says
Brin look sat the pouch of gold for a bit, then splits it evenly among the group. That will be 3 GP each, with 5 left over. He'll give each person one more, so everyone add 4 GP to your sheet, and he'll take 3 himself.
Dusting off his hands as he nods to the others. "Ready to be heading out if ye all be."

"a lot of my offensive spells are either bright or loud... I don't like either scenario in the dark. Does anyone here not have the ability to see past sunset? Fire might be as big a giveaway as bells or a ring of holy sunlight....."
Turning to Modesty "I agree, let's get these traps sorted quickly while we can, it saves back tracking; I think we need a strategy moving forward though, to play off our strengths"

"Umm.... Okay; Cerlinde.... You seem to be able to 'see' farther than the rest of us, but when you do, you are more vulnerable. Cyrasil....though I hate you just left the group to do your own thing and we almost died.. you seem to be good at camoflauge and wood craft, correct? Brin you seem to be pretty easy going and versatile. Nilven, you are most heavily armed monk I've seen in my life, youre likely going to be the main martial force in a fight, though I notice you're also very fast/light on your feet. Alukilia...... You are pretty nifty and would probably be best in diffusing traps with the main group instead of as an advance scouting party *and I get the sense you would like the comfort of a larger group for safety*
".... Nilven, you are most heavily armed monk I've seen in my life, youre likely going to be the main martial force in a fight, though I notice you're also very fast/light on your feet...."
Nilvén hasn't been paying attention to the first part of comment from the Cleric Ollezall since she had been busy mingling with her weapons, especially checking out the Battleaxe for any kind of vulnerabilities. When she has heard him uttering her name, she has closed her eyes partly into a squint then glanced at the Cleric. Clearly, she seems discontent whenever someone uses her first name 'Nilvén' for any kind of references.
"Air Genasi race has the innate ability to be surrounded by constant gust of air. I can cast Levitatein case of critical situation that allows me to float, or make other creatures float above the ground."
She sheaths the Shortsword with a sharp metallic sound then continues to add:
"I have more unique features and abilities that might seem astonishing, it'll cost you some time to get used to it."

" ....You prefer Zhou.... I'm sorry; it makes sense now why you sounded out the pronunciation of your last name, but not your first *Ollezall looks bashful-eating humble pie* I look forward to seeing some more of these abilities. Levitation would be a very useful wildcard; is it just people, or can you levitate objects the same way?...... And why DO you carry so many weapons? It's not a sight I've seen much if I'm being honest; most monks seem to favour hand to hand almost exclusively."

Nilvén decides to ignore the initial section of the reply then attempts to bless the second question with an answer, "Both of them, it depends on their weight."
When interrogated about the excessive amount of weapons she seems frowning at the Cleric:
"One Battleaxe, ten Darts and a Shortsword can not be considered 'too many'. I'd say the the most significant weapon is the Wooden Stake."
And I don't care about what other Monks wield generally, they don't need to chase after monsters after all! Nilvén has been carefully keeping her background secret, at least for the time being. She's seen leaving the close proximity of Ollezall and maintaining a safe distance, not a bit interested in more chit-chat.

You arrive at the first of the two spots the Owl spots from above. You approach cautiously. Seems Kobolds are here and have been digging random holes in the ground. You see the foot of one Kobold sticking out of one hole. Looking closer you realize it's just a foot. Just then 3 horrible looking creatures burst from the ground spitting acid at Modesty, Alukilia and Cyrasil (DEX save DC 13).
Modesty DEX save: 14 Damage: 10
" Ankhegs" Modesty shouts them mutters "why does it always have to be Ankhegs?" She draws the Maul she has strapped to her back and attacks the Ankheg closest to her.

13 initiative
(Should we do initiative rolls, or just attack when we can?)
Cerlinde reels in fear at the beast’s attack- “ these are very dangerous creatures- likely beyond our capabilities to kill, but perhaps we can scare them off?”
Bonus action: Hex at the closest one (Wis disadvantage)
Action: The tiny owl swoops down and distracts the beast at the same moment that a ball of fire blasts from Cerlinde’s outstretched hand... the owl then flies safely away (help action, flyby) against the same one that was hexxed:
Attack: 11 Damage: 10
plus 3 Hex damage.
The petite elf girl then retreats behind a tree for full cover.
Ollezall casts toll of the dead, aiming at the one modesty landed a hit on. Wisdom save 15 or the creature takes 10 necrotic damage.
Ollezall backs up to put as close to 60ft of distance between himself and these monsters as possible (30ft movement speed) . Ollezall looks around at the party; I should be close enough to heal if it became necessary.
Ollezall intently watches these grotesque abominations, hoping to learn anything he can about them and how they fight. perception: 25
Nilvén will charge with her Shortsword in right hand to attack the second Ankheg to cause Piercing Damage. "You should have put your filthy foot in your mouth before spraying that disgusting acid. Die you dirty hopper!"
"You should have put your filthy foot in your mouth before spraying that disgusting acid. Die you dirty hopper!"
*For someone so reserved , she sure does go Savage at every creature we cross... And who the heck carries a stake around with them anyway.... Well I'm hardly going to bring it up with her... She'd probably stake me with it next...I don't know what I did wrong, I just never met a monk with a big axe is all... Are monks even allowed to carry that sort gear ... It would make cutting wood easier..... There was that one monk I saw at the temple next to the forest who cut a tree down with their bare hands....I bet they all give pretty firm handshakes... Do monks even shake hands?*

Cyrasil tries to maintain some distance from the bugs. He picks an arrow from his quiver and aims at the ankheg that seems the most threatening to the others.
Attack: 14 Damage: 10
