Xarkris rolls a NAT 20 for a (+3) of 23. Xarkris stops and looks at the Gnome as he realizes what the tiny creature has attempted to do and is able to maintain his balance and trap the staff between his legs. Xarkris pries the staff from the Gnome and says, “I should probably hold onto this so you don’t get hurt” and walks off to find a corner he can put his back to and watch these strangers.
Lisa is pottering about in some other area of the house and is unbothered by what you get up to, but Gruldropcomes out and is a bit more forceful. 'Ehem, can we have you all gathered in the bedrooms please? And Xarkris, I would have expected better from you, don't forget you're still in need of my services and the generosity of this party,' he says, widening his eyes to emphasise his point without explicitly saying what he means. Graelor andIvory are still on their beds, just lounging, whilst Hugh sits upright and chants hymns in Abyssal. You didn't know he could speak such a language, but let him get on with it. Seeing that Xarkris has backed off on attacking Bluey, he has gotten up from the floor and rushed into the dorms to find a thick blanket to hide away under.
As the hag mentions other guests and hiding the shadow weaves Eggo Lass' eyes widen in horror. IVORY! she thinks. There's no way that arrogant good-for-nothing tab*xi would've been smart enough to figure out a way to the shadow weave. As Salamander mentions wanting to consult with his lawyer she agrees, wanting to get a better grasp of what's going on. She hopes the owls can observe while she heads to the quarters with the others. (I don't believe I like this hag.) she telepaths.
When Bilyur asks about Dispel Magic she replies. (Unfortunately a little above our capabilities. But I have a feeling we'll find a way to deal nonetheless.)
In the room she stifles a scowl at the tab*xi and then gets a devillish smile as the fire genasi points out the writing. This will be fun. she thinks.
The golden dragonborn's presence intrigues her. A few inches taller than her (she stands at 6' 4") she pauses for a moment on how to respond. No use letting Ivory know more about the party's capabilities. "Eggo Lass." she responds aloud. She rolls her eyes as Bilyur fights Xarxis. Boys.
Reaching for the paper she asks a simple and direct question of her own. Have you tried killing her?
Gruldrop stifles a laugh at Eggo Lasses written question and writes She's an incredibly powerful druid. Her plant magic is simply unmatched, she could sprout trees out our stomachs if she felt the need.. At your shocked expressions, he writes Well that isn't exactly true, but I wouldn't go fighting her. She's on a similar level to some powerful demons and devils, and had a past of interacting with them back before all this Shadow Weave business. In fact, she apparently threatened the Blood Archivist themself for a more powerful Weave around their home just so they could keep their cabbage patch out in the swamp. She's serious business, but I know a way we can get past her, same way I've been doing it for the last 30 years. Once everyone's sat down, I'll write up the master plan!
Xarkris sees that the party is having discussions without him. He grabs the paper from Gruldrop and quickly reads it. When finished, he impatiently scrawls on the paper, “DO YOU HAVE SILVER?” He gives the paper to Eggo Lass and impatiently waits for an answer, while putting his finger to his mouth it stress silence.
Sly remains in the background, leaning against the wall of the room. She has become even more cautious with Ivory around. This whole place seemed like a powder keg ready to explode. Despite the moist conditions.
She nods at the "new roommates" and stays well away from the intimidating dragonborn. She nods as Xarkris mentions silver and shows him the 13 silver pieces the party had picked up a few dungeons ago.
The wizard is curious about the plan that Gruldrop is about to propose and pays good attention.
Gruldrop grins at the sight of the silver and even Ivory leans forward a little bit. Gruldrop then goes over to the table and takes out a piece of paper that he's obviously shown parties for years. The paper says
The Shadow Weave portal to this dungeon is locked away by a powerful spell called Evaltrini's Sealed Room, which requires Lisa's touch to unlock the room. Of course, she isn't going to open the room herself as she wishes to keep you as visitors for as long as possible. But, there's a way you can get out. Lisa Lilylips has a curse on her that means whenever she hears the ring of a silver bell, she goes into a trance and must follow the noise. I can turn your silver into a bell in his secret forge hidden behind my headboard and you can use it to escape. It'll take a day to forge the bell, and don't interrupt me whilst I'm working as Lisa might hear you enter the hidden room.
He then walks over, takes the silver, and looks around. As soon as he thinks the coast is clear, he pushes his headboard back to reveal a crawlspace, he gets in and holds up a little note in his pocket readingSee you in 24 hours also whilst announcing 'Looks like it'll be breakfast soon!' and crawling away to get to work on the silver bell.
Xarkris writes, “I will show you my routine” and shows it to the others. He goes about doing what he has been doing for the weeks that he has been here and tries to guide the others in what he thinks would work best. Xarkris plays up the impression that we are one happy growing family….he even gives Bilyur back his staff and tries to make amends. Xarkris is sociable to Lisa and the others and monitors Lisa’s mood and distracts her from Gruldrop’s actions.
At Eggo Lass's assertion that she too didn't like the hag he grinned. 'Seems like someone got the memo.' He mentally pictures himself randomly slipping her a memo under a door and, because of this, somehow takes this into memory and begins to believe it is fact.
A bit disappointed that the fight hadn't played out the way he thought it would, he takes a seat on one of the beds and jumps up and down on it.
'Silver?' at Xarkis's writing.
'Oh silver?!'when Sly manages to produce said objects.
Watching and waiting as all this happens he gets impatient and scribbles something onto the same paper that the Gruldrop had written on: If he's been here for years why didn't he do it sooner?! How he know about the bell?! Was there one before?! Why isn't there one now! I hate this witch!!!
He writes that last one down too hard that it rips the paper in half, and he just growls. Throwing his hands into the air before marching up to Lisa, he asks. "CAN I ASK YOU A QUESTION?"
Seeing how Gruldrop is hard at work and unavailable to chat, Ivoryslinks forward and writes her own response for Salamander on a scrap of spellbook. It reads Haven't you realised that every time a party comes through, Gruldrop has to make a new bell for them since they need to take it with them in order to leave? Gruldrop's taken it upon himself to be the one to stay here and help traffic the adventurers through and make the bells. It took him ages to find out Lisa's secret in the first place anyway by looking through all her personal logs, so if he left, who knows how many adventurers would be stuck here? She finishes the note by writing I have a lot of respect for him. It takes a lot to give up on your life just to help others, but he knew the risks of coming into these dungeons anyway. Better stuck with a hag then dead in a trap.
Lisa, who is just coming out with Xarkris into the corridor with a rickety trolley covered in bowls of steamed lettuce, hears Salamander's angry approach and says 'What is it now? I have breakfast ready so we can talk over that!'
It is now 7:30, breakfast time. 23 and a half hours remain
Getting up before Ivory finished writing her note, Salamander puts his hands on his hips as he spits out the question:
"Have you heard of property code 486-B73?!" He slaps a piece of paper that has nothing on it. "It says that you cannot subdivide your house and have tenants illegally occupying each room! Neither are you allowed to have water in your basement which is also, may I say to you, properly flooded. Plus, your ceiling is ten inches off normal. Headroom in case of fire. You need to also make sure you do not host a family of lice or else the health department will come knocking at your door. I should know. I once tried to rent out my porch!"
He is so uptight about this even after hearing that breakfast is coming- he loves breakfast- that he will not let this go.
Bilyur writes a quick response to Ivory. Those who give up their lives for others deserve respect. Those who let them do it deserve none.He then begins meditating on his bed. When Lisa comes in with breakfast he says, "It is no insult to your hospitality, but I eat only once a day. It is a religious tradition."

The wooden floorboards creak and twist as she speak, and when she walks off to distribute the bowls of lettuce, you can see that some branches have grown out of the knotted wood where she stood.

Her carnivourous fangs seem to be entirely unused to consuming such large quantities of vegetables, and she acts like each bite is torture.' Lisa shrugs at Bilyur's request and says 'Suit yourself, that means more for me!' Bluey graciously accepts the meal, as does Graelor, yet Hugh just holds the bowl in his hands and says out of earshot from any of you in a deep voice unlike his own, 'Such a poor meal to begin my rebirth with. Well, this body requires no sustenance, so it shall do. Thank you Lisa, I will be seeing you shortly'
By the time you have all had your fill of lettuce and returned your bowls for Lisa to wash, it is 9:00 AM. The next meal is in 3 hours, for now you can explore as you wish.
"I don't own a hospital?"Salamander says surly. He trudges off to where the rooms were before side-eyeing Ivory only to stumble across the paper she wrote. He takes up the piece of paper and scribbles: So let's kill her then and set us all free.
He makes a face and sits down haughtily and shovels lettuce into his mouth unquietly. "Needs salt." He looks over at where the branches grew.
Then he has an idea. He snatches the piece of paper from where he last left it and writes: SALT. He lifts the paper up for all to see and points. "That's it."
He gets giddy, setting the paper down again. IT KILLS ALL THINGS AND MAKES SURE NOTHING GROWS THERE.

[Lisa was in the dorms when she distributed the breakfast, but there are a few main rooms she frequents. I'm assuming you'll spend most of your time exploring, so I'll update the map, post some descriptions, and respond to Salamander soon]
Ivory simply writes back to Salamander Deathwish much? And good luck finding salt, all you're gonna get for the next 24 hours is cabbage
As a party you spend the majority of the day exploring the house. The rooms are as follows:
The bedroom (Top room in the North-West) belongs to Lisa. It's the same size as your dorms but is taken up mostly by an enormous fluffy stuffed shark. Lisa doesn't mind you going into her room as she can hear if you try to steal anything, but doesn't recommend you stroke the shark 'He's for my hands only, once you feel his fur you'll be dozing for days', as she warns. Overall the room has moody purple lighting, a personal bookcase in one corner, and a large four poster bed with a stained mattress in the middle.
The kitchen/library (West) is the most intriguing room. It contains a huge cauldron which Lisa piles all her cabbages into to make all the meals, along with some basic crockery. Near the door, two massive bookshelves are put up on either side of the room. This is where Lisa keeps all her logs, books and scrolls, both mundane and magical. She'll let you do some light reading from there, but in return you have to pick your own dinner in the cabbage patch.
The cabbage patch (centre) is a large plot of land dedicated to growing Lisa's signature dish. You can access it through a backdoor in the corridor outside the kitchen. The air is muggy and cold from the shadowy fog, but you're welcome to go out and collect cabbages as much as you like, if you can handle the atmosphere.
The corridors are long and rickety tunnels of wood that creak when you travel them. The long passage to the south assumedly leads to the Shadow Weave Portal, but Lisa hears your footsteps from that direction and doesn't allow you to go further then the turn.
[The cabbage patch has actual cabbages on it (even if they're massive lol) and the rooms have icons! Talk about a step up from the last dungeons! Also the giant stuffed shark may or may not look like Blahaj lol]
If Lisa isn't near, Bilyur will go into the room with the cauldron and begin looking for books that would be the most interesting to Eggo and Sly. Investigation: 18.
"Cab-aghe," he pronounces before simply shrugging and walking away. He does not really care for this tabaxi nor do the others care too he's noticed; however, he does not want to be like the others, no, so instead his disapproval of her is more of one of apathy, yeah. Yeah, that's it. 'I'm not a follower! Never have been!'
He begins to walk around the place and see what sights there are to behold. He nods his approval of the stuffed shark. "Nice shark,"he says and then puts a slug on it. Though all for experiments, he's not one to actually stick around see what's the outcome. The smart ones- Eggo Lass and Sly- can have the pleasure of checking that. Do slugs eat fluffy sharks?
Salamander then wanders to the cabbage patch.
He looks for hickory, dandelion, walnut, or pecan roots, all of which contain salt (he assumes) and also coltsfoot leaves.
Xarkris rolls a NAT 20 for a (+3) of 23. Xarkris stops and looks at the Gnome as he realizes what the tiny creature has attempted to do and is able to maintain his balance and trap the staff between his legs. Seeing that Xarkris has backed off on attacking Bluey, he has gotten up from the floor and rushed into the dorms to find a thick blanket to hide away under.

"Cab-aghe," he pronounces before simply shrugging and walking away. He does not really care for this tabaxi nor do the others care too he's noticed; however, he does not want to be like the others, no, so instead his disapproval of her is more of one of apathy, yeah.
