Eggo Lass turns her nose at the cabbage, although seeing Ivory's despair does give her some delight. First the hag's nonchalance with the law and immovable mind from her response to Salamander, then this culinary crime. She takes a moment to add a bit of taste to her cabbage via prestidigitation before eating it.

She takes some time to harvest cabbage. May as well get some roughage while she could. She considers practicing out her thorn whip whip on the cabbages for harvesting them, but decides against it with that Ivory around. No sense giving the tab*xi any hints as to party capabilities.

When Xarkris mentions telling Lisa her life story she pauses, not exactly fond of letting Lisa know more about her. Or any evesdropping ears. She darts her eyes towards Ivory now and then. She then wonders if there might still be fun to be had. She tries to mimic Lisa and starts a test run with Xarkris as far from Ivory as possible. (Cabbage, my dear?) she telepaths, wondering if the dragonborn would be tricked.

Sly grumbles around extensively after learning of the conditions to use the library. But the potential for knowledge is nothing against some gardening work. So the tiefling rolls up her sleeves and heads off to the gardens. In addition, she didn't mind not having to see Ivory for a bit.

When she returns, she washes the cabbage and puts it aside, before wasting no time and hurrying over to the bookshelves, nodding to Bilyur who is already there. She is interested in any spells, invocations and magical knowledge that Lisa may have gathered or written down over the years.
Sly is fluent in common, undercommon, dwarvish and infernal. If she encounters any language she doesn't know, she will ritual cast comprehend languages and carefully decipher the text by tracing the glyphs with her fingers.

[Okay, so if Bilyur wants to look at the books he'll need to harvest some cabbages along with the majority of the party, else Lisa will hear him and forbid his entry to the library. You can keep your roll for after you've done that though!]

Salamander Pie, after putting a slug on Lisa's beloved shark, heads out to the garden and scans the cabbage patch for any of the high-salt weeds he has in mind. He gives the whole patch a good look but finds nothing. It seems everything aside from the cabbages that tries to grow in the soil just withers away, and he also sees that leaves of the cabbages curiously form a cackling grin, like that of a jack-o-lantern.

Then, Sly and assumedly now Bilyur head outside to try and gather some cabbages to earn their access to the bookshelf, whilst Eggo Lass comes out just to gather some personal ingredients. The three of them head out into the field to gather the cabbages, but as soon as they lean down to harvest them, they bite back and launch a surprise attack!

A Carnivorous Cabbage attacks Sly with its teeth, with advantage since it's a surprise attack:  21 to hit, 2 piercing damage on a hit.
A Carnivorous Cabbage attacks Eggo Lass with its teeth, with advantage since it's a surprise attack:  21 to hit, 3 piercing damage on a hit.

As soon as the cabbages have launched their attack, more begin to rise from the ground and hop towards the party. You see about 24 animate cabbages in total. You won't need a battlemap for this encounter as you are always within melee range of a cabbage and both sides can always make opportunity attacks if an enemy moves, and you won't need Status Tracking either since the cabbages die in a hit. [this just makes it all easier for me to run this massive encounter too] As you begin battle, Lisa leans out the door and says 'Oh, I'm sorry dears, I forgot to tell you that you'll need to fight for your food and reading privileges. Nothing comes easy in life, but if you fail, you'll make good fertiliser for them along with the Shadow Weave magic!' She cackles and goes back inside, locking the door.

Sly, BIlyur and Eggo Lass are up for initiative, Salamander is outside but not in the patch so out of initiative. 24 carnivorous cabbages remain!

[Oh wow two of the cabbages rolled crits, that's a surprise! Luckily the damage is only 4 for Sly and 6 for Eggo though, Bilyur takes nothing lol]

Xarkris hears "Cabbage, my dear" in his head and it sounds like Lisa. Xarkris makes an INVESTIGATION roll of 7. He searches for Lisa to tell her thank you, but he just had some cabbage.

Lisa looks at him funny and says 'If you want some cabbage, you can go outside and get some yourself, it isn't quite lunch yet. Now that I mention it, they might need your help.' Lisa unlocks and opens the door, and ushers Xarkris out to 'supervise'.

Xarkris is pushed out of the hut and sees the newcomers have been introduced to the Killer Kabbages. Xarkris has already encountered these Vicious Vegetables before and chuckles to himself. He sighs and goes out to the patch to help the newbies. 

He spots an area of the patch that the party is not occupying and where the largest clump of cabbages are and brings forth his Breath Weapon and breathes fire on the cabbages causing 7 points of fire damage (versus a Dexterity save of 11). Cabbages aren't very athletic, are they?

Initiative: 20. 

Bilyur spins his quarterstaff and slams it into a cabbage(18 to hit, 9 damage), following up with two swift sweep kicks (7 and 25(crit) to hit, 7 and 7 damage) if any survive the punches, they have to make a dex save not to go flying 15 feet. If he's still based with any cabbages, he will stay where he is, otherwise he will move as far away as possible and let the dragonborn's fire deal with them. 

35ft walking speed BTW.

"Strange..." Salamander inspects the leaves like a botanist. "Weird." Those are his only observations.

Disgruntled by the fact there were no weeds, he trudges back and front mumbling, "I should have just gotten an eviction notice..."

Then suddenly the cabbages spring up to life which thoroughly confuses him, apparently the hint went completely over his head. "LISA!!!" he shouts and then she's right there.

"No good, good for nothing, witch!"

Salamander skirts past the monstrous cabbages and bangs on the door for Lisa to come out. He stabs it.

A save is half the damage

 [Okay if it's a save for half then I don't need to even bother rolling the save as even half damage would kill them as they're vulnerable to fire damage] 

Xarkris, with his experience in the field of cabbages, wipes out a quarter of them in a burst of golden flames, the charred leaves floating down into the mud. Bilyur strikes and immobilises three cabbages approaching him, but is still faced with a few gathered around so stays where he is. 

15 Carnivorous Cabbages remain, Sly and Eggo Lass are still up! 

Meanwhile, Salamander runs round the edge of the cabbage patch to reach the door. The party is so engrossed in the battle that they don't even see him go past, and the cabbages also ignore him, though that might just be because he didn't step foot in the garden. He runs up to the door and bangs on it, before slamming a knife through the woodwork. Although the door has shutters, Lisa doesn't bother to open them (obviously) and instead just says through the door, 'Ugh, Salamander, you're always the one causing issues. And don't act like it isn't you, I can recognise the sound of your little goblin feet on the mud any day. Go help your friends with the cabbages, I've got an..umm...important meeting with a past business associate to deal with' She then casts mending on the door and seals up the slit left by Sal's dagger before walking away.

Sly lets out a very undignified screech as the cabbages come alive and starts hurling magical quills at them.

[Three missiles that inevitably hit and do 4 force damage each]

The missiles all thud perfectly into the leaves of the cabbages and the three that you aimed at fall to the floor.

12 are left and Eggo Lass is the last up, unless Salamander also joins initiative

Eggo Lass takes a look around, wondering if Ivory is within sight. If not, she taps into her powers and unleashes a spray of cards within the patch, tearing apart a cone of cabbages.

8 force damage with half on a save. So guaranteed kills.

However, if she does she Ivory around, she grits her teeth and goes at the cabbages with her daggers. "You're a precocious little food source." she quips.

Ivory's still cooped up in her dorm whilst Lisa apparently takes a meeting, so Eggo Lass shreds the cabbage with her spray of cards

I'm gonna say that's another quarter of the cabbages since Xarkris had a similar cone attack.

6 carnivorous cabbages remain, which tear into the party, aiming at Eggo Lass and Xarkris in particular as the main attackers.

Eggo Lass follows up with another spell, this time Thorn Whip. There's a look of delight on her face as she tries the cantrip for the first time.

Xarkris stomps on one of the cabbages that just snapped at him, rolling a 16 to hit and 4 points of damage.
