You've heard his name, you've felt his influence, countless ages and worlds have been touched by him: Vecna. He's back, and he is ready to unravel the entire multiverse and reform it into his own vision and design. You think you can stop him? How amusing...
Running the short prequel adventure Vecna: Nest of the Eldritch Eye! I will only be taking 4 people so please be up to sticking with it, I promise it isn't super long at all. Maps will be shown during the game as well as images in the story thread.
Characters will start (and stay) at level 3. PHB and MotM races only please, use point buy/standard array for stats, any standard starting equipment is fine (feel free to change it out for other basic equipment). Extensive backstory not required (but fine to have one, just no need to post it all when applying). Tasha's rules are just fine.
Please commit to posting at least once a day when possible. If you do then we should be able to roll through the adventure before the main one drops in a few weeks.
The adventure probably leans on the combat heavy side, but there will still be plenty of opportunity to RP as well. The adventure is very linear though (sic: dungeon crawl) so not much for extensive exploration and character development. Save that for the grand adventure later.
To apply, keep it simple: name, race, class (and sub class), the relevant information, and a SHORT description of your character. Seriously, hit me with a giant wall o' text of your decades leading up to this and I will ignore it. :)
Ready? Go.
Ok ok PS: IF the group is solid through the end, I will consider keeping them to run the full adventure later, but no promises.
I'd be interested in giving it ago. I have characters of every class ready to go so if my first choice doesn't jive I have plenty of other choices. But to begin with I think I'll go with a Barbarian
Name: Tymm (Pronounced 'Tim')
Race: Goliath
Class: Barbarian (Totem Warrior-Bear)
Backstory: Tribe was wiped out by a White Dragon, now wanders alone.
Description: Typical Goliath, but has 3 claw marks along his face that he got from a bear when he was young
Personality: Almost childlike. Very friendly, easily amused, doesn't always know his own strength.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Kaelan Thornfell - Wildhunt Shifter Beast Barbarian - Horde of the Dragon Queen
Gustuck "Grumpy Gus" Clayshaper - Deep Gnome Astral Self Monk - Malady of Minarrh
Shelmo Sherrinford - Fairy Inquisitive Rogue - Vae Victus
This looks fun and I have been planning to play a Goliath Druid (Shaman). Nightbird, if it's cool with you and the DM, would you be OK if our characters are from the same tribe?
Backstory: Perkalia has always been the odd one out.....a little too gothic for most of the wild green forest dwelling rock gnomes she grew up among. She was 'encouraged' to leave as soon as she was of age.
Description: Loligoth with a hint of charnel house....
Personality: Perk is extremely enthusiastic about blood and its uses also fashion.....occasionally violence...and hugs.....sometimes all at once.

Name - Sky Rootwhisperer Thulolake
Race - Goliath
Class - Druid (Circle of the Shepherd)
Fine by me. So long as you don’t mind being paired with a lovable doofus. Not stupid per say, just goofy and immature
Just noticed the PS. This character is a bit of a lark that I have no interest in playing long-term, so I'm going to pull my submission. Might post something else later that I wouldn't mind playing short or long term.
Okay, assuming multiclassing is allowed, this just feels like the right adventure to finally build my Ultimate 3rd Level Skill Monkey™
Background: Once upon a time he let the badguy win, and now he's got a vendetta against the wicked. A fighter-man so dedicated to his atonement its manifesting in holy righteous power.

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
Background: A lucky shot killed a marauding orc so now everyone thinks he is a hero. The fame has gone to his head but he knows he has a lot to learn before he can actually protect his village. So here he is in Neverwinter to learn adventuring.
Personality: Friendly enough chap. Eager, a bit overwhelmed, and confident.
Wee bit of a backstory - Kwai forsook his homeland of Kara-Tur several months ago after he unintentionally maimed a nobleman's arrogant son in a fit of righteous anger. Heeding the counsel of the monastery elder, Kwai gathered his few belongings and fled to the Sword Coast where he hopes to hide from the bounty hunters the Shou nobleman has sent after him. Kwai moves from town to town and village to village, hoping he can do some good and aid those in need, and that is why he finds himself in Neverwinter...
Name: Garnock Race: Bugbear Background: Outlander Class: War Wizard Warlock would also work and i'd be down to play whichever subclass if something could be done to make Garnock fit the story better. Maybe he finds the "Dagger of Kas" and becomes a Hexblade Warlock Backstory: Found a spellbook or similar on a traveller he "forcefully looted". He was interested and studied it, learning some magic. He was banished from his tribe because the magic is too different from the magic which Maglubiyet grants to his shamans. Descripiton: Garnock very much embodies the hobo wizard and charlatan-shaman. Simple brown coat with many ribbons and beads, frizzly hair
Backstory: A warrior from a secluded elven island who worship dragons as gods. He is in search for his human father in the sword coast. Along the road while searching for his father he inadvertently stumble upon this adventure.
Description: Dah’ren is a stern warrior with a code, he is kind hearted but keep his duty above his feelings. He dresses in an unusual armor and wield a long elven curved sword in battle.
Class: Artificer [Artillerist] (Would MC in Warlock [Genie - Dao] later)
Backstory: Originally from a different world (Ravnica), he participated in an experiment that had the goal to manufacture magical artefacts from imprisoned extraplanars, a dao in his case. His experiment had gone haywire and besides being zapped into another world -- if that wouldn't have been bad enough -- his very being fused with the Dao. Or at least somehow they are connected and bound to each other.
Description/Personality: Young, easygoing experimental scientist, though not always a practical thinker. He gets really excited about his ideas and he can’t wait to talk about them and putting them into practice and tinkering with them and he really wants to tell about how exciting it all is!
Story: Yue returned to the family farm to find his family dead. Murdered in a blood sacrifice to a dark being. He wandered alone in the night, finaly passing out from exhaustion. He awoke days later to a full moon and a face of a goddess in the moon speaking to him, telling him about a dark power on the rise, and that he must eventually be prepared to fight it. Finding himself with new powers, he has wandered far from his home and after several years being drawn to the city of Neverwinter....
Name: Eima Blainken Race: Forest Gnome Class: Rogue (Arcane Trickster) Background: Urchin Character Sheet: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/119117985/bOlyWM Minor Request: May I reflavor the shortbow from Rogue starting equipment as a crossbow? Backstory: It all began 1,000 years ago when- (jk jk, not long story, just gonna give the bullet points.) Grew up an orphan in the streets of [NEARBY_CITY]. Scraped by, stole from the rich to give to the poor. (With a cut for herself.) Is interested in the plot-hook for the campaign since it seems there's money to be made. For her personality I see her as friendly, maybe a bit cocky at times.
In the depths of the Underdark, there exists a Deep Gnome Illusionist who goes by the name of Gnox. She is a master of deception and trickery, using her magical abilities to weave illusions that fool even the keenest of eyes. Gnox is accompanied by her faithful spider familiar, Thaala, who aids her in her quest for knowledge and power.
Gnox's past is marked by pain and suffering, having been captured and enslaved by the cruel Drow in their underground slave camps. She barely managed to escape with her life, but not before witnessing the horrors inflicted upon her fellow captives. With a burning desire for justice and retribution, Gnox is determined to fight Drow's tyranny and cruelty wherever she may find it, using her illusions to outsmart her enemies and gather information on the Drow'sactivities. Gnox’s ultimate goal is to gather enough strength to storm the slave camp where she once suffered, freeing the captives and bringing justice to those who have wronged her.
Thank you all for applying, some very interesting characters! Those that were chosen have been messaged. Good luck with all your adventures! This thread is now closed.
