(As an option, whenever you want to send word to Lady Yusdrayl and the rest of the kobold tribe, you may send Meepo and the other inactive players to go relay your message while you continue to explore.)
The goblin has seen the key before, but honestly has no idea what it does or how you got it out of the statue in the first place (the goblins have tried without success to pry it out).
Traxx hands the key back to Meepo for safe keeping. (**Traxx will only handle the key with a gloved hand until he knows its purpose due to his draconic bloodline)
"We should definitely send word back to the Lady. She will want a report on our progress. Also we should inform her about the key. She may know more about it."
"Now Meepo, what should we do with the prisoner?"

Meepo takes the key.
Meepo's insight into the prisoner's intentions: 21
Meepo sighs. In draconic, so the goblin can't understand, he states "I wish we could take our prisoner at his word. But goblins are as duplicitous as they are cowardly; he would surely alert his comrades to our presence. He must either be kept as a prisoner, or, put to death."
Koohe has been observing all this and says, "I might point out that cowering and groveling is commonly used as a distraction." I shall keep myself especially alert.
I'll reply in Draconic, too, then: "See, that's what I was saying! Goblins are cowards! That beast would gladly turn us all in for a pat on the head. I'll get rid of it. It's what Lady Yusdrayl would want."
I'll grab him by the scruff of the neck and start dragging him back towards the pit, muttering in Common: "Goblin weak. Goblin coward. I not weak. Me show sorceress. Me help."
OOC: "some kind of trinket or memento" - just a random thingie you haven't come up with a description for yet? Or "This thing definitely looks important to the goblin but you have no idea what it is"?
Traxx looks down into the pit. Bows his head for a moment then walks away.
"Ok, now that, that unfortunate but necessary business is complete. What do we do now Meepo? We have a lot more to explore and it seems there is a host of goblins down here along with hobgoblins. Who knows what else lurks these hallowed halls..."

Moss has just been letting all of this play out, but took the opportunity to step over to the northern door to listen if they can hear anything on the other side (perception 17). Also, does the door have a lock? Which way does it open?

(The trinket is just a random thingy that was important to the goblin but probably not to anyone else.)
The northern door is (let me roll for a possible random encounter: 20)... quiet. You hear nothing on the other side.
Meepo suggests that the party explore more of the rooms closer to the entrance to the Underdark, as having rooms close to it would be more convenient as living space. He's willing to go further this way if you guys want though.
OOC - if the trinket falls under the 'just some random trinket' she will keep it providing no objection from the group (may we roll still for it off the trinket chart - https://www.dndbeyond.com/compendium/rules/phb/equipment#Trinkets ) If its the other - definitely important but we can't figure out what it is - she will show the group and see what they think.
"Anyone need chainmail, spear or these 3 Javelins?" She collects them to sell otherwise.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Koohe grins and displays her collection of 9 javelins she is using whatever the prior goblin used to contain the the first 6. If anything at all. "All yours if you want them!" (link is to weapons page 2 lbs ea). <whew - she hopes he takes them all>
separate roll for trinket - 3
**Who did we send back to tell Lady of our findings? Kinda like keeping Meepo around - do we have any inactives LaRue?
"I agree with Meepo, rooms behind us first?" She is agreeable to either way as well.

Yellow-Spine's eyes get big at seeing the key for the first time. That thing looks important. And shiny.
I'll keep a special eye open for any kind of locks, especially ones with a dragon motif.
(I'd better keep a close eye on Traxx for a while, too. You know, to make sure he doesn't lose it...)

*** Ohhhh Meepo is a beast!

"No, please, please..."
And then all quiet.
(The goblin is dead, left at the bottom of the pit to rot.)
Ginko stops his snarling and lets his fangs return to normal.
*** Man I wish Ginko was a lover and not a fighter! I feel so bad for that poor goblin!
/e Joan - the begging. - - but I am a Kobold atm, so ... still little sad. Hey, we forgot to look him over for valuables.
Koohe climbs down into the pit to search. (in the pit - the body and anything else someone may have missed quickly).
investigation 9
The goblin had chainmail, a spear, 3 javelins and some kind of trinket or memento.
(I felt bad killing off the goblin too, haha... ;_;)

Oh, I fleshed out background and stuff a little but I don't think I ever linked a character sheet earlier so here you go!

(It's definitely not plot-related; go ahead and roll for what it is, good idea.)
"Ginko has jabby?" He points at the Javelins.
