I am worried about causing this fight. One or all of these creatures may be innocent. Perhaps we should just avoid both groups and search for the trail again.
"We need to make a decision quickly. These people could be Sil's extended family or they could be goblins. I am not eager for another fight, but we should determine if they are friend or foe before trying to get them killed. I do have magic that could potentially pacify some of them, but I agree with Doc that we should not expend resources when we do not have to. Let us engage the lone person first. Even if they have power, they overestimate their chances if they are traveling alone."
Both the group and the single creature are closer (about 1/4 mile now). The group is still heading in your direction (from WNW), but the single creature seems to be heading towards the east now.
Both are still completely obscured by the tall grass.
Estellen gazes into the pendant, trying to sense the connection between it and its twin. "I can put a group of weaker creatures to sleep. If this pendant points me at them... then they may have prisoners that we need to save."
The pendant pulls Estellen slightly in the rough direction of the group, but not quite in line with the direction Quilqwen pointed. He takes a couple of very small unconscious steps in that direction as his focus intensifies. It feels like the connection is from a far distance. The magical hum given off by the pendant dims as his focus returns to the world around him, barely noticeable now, but still there.
Wonderful! You can put who you can to sleep and I can attempt to Entagle the rest. Then we can determine if they are a threat and possibly find out more about what lies ahead.
"Very well, that sounds like a good plan." Once the group comes within range of sleep and entangle, Estellen will cast sleep as soon as Quilqwen seems ready.
Violet is just chilling behind them, waiting to see what happens. She's holding her crystal, just in case she needs it, but doesn't ready any spell, expecting the meat shields/companions, in front of her to buy her time to cast.
(OOC: I am preparing to move into melee range once the spell is cast. Charge in and attack. If I need to move a bit into the grass to first get within 30ft, I will. To be more specific: I am only looking to attack whomever is still awake after the spell.)
"Awww, don't worry big guy. I'm more than I seem." She playfully winks at Doc

Quilqwen flies back up 25 feet to see where the two sets of creatures are now.

They are all closer but the lone creature seems to have turned away. What can you do to the group?

As the group of creatures comes with in 70 feet of our group Quilqwen will signal to Estellen and then wait to see the outcome of his spell.
Also he will try to hide as they approach.

Doc will just stand at the ready, waiting to react to anything that seems harmful. Perception: 20
Is everyone waiting to see the outcome of Estellen's spell? Or are people preparing actions depending on the outcome?

What are you preparing Doc?

(OOC:Just to be clear I’m not holding a spell either. I will wait to see the outcome of the sleep before reacting)
