Ok, here's a thought I had but didn't want to pollute the IC discussion too much.
Awesome job on Klag all! It would have been helpful to get some intel from him but he didn't seem the chatty type and taking him out that efficiently despite our being tactically compromised coming out of a chimney was pretty cool.
Now, the Red Woman (?) is only 12 secs out from us. (plus or minus a few as we start tying up goblins, etc. )
I'm thinking maybe Sharloon should hustle back down the chimney to observe the front of the tunnel complex area and surroundings. If he sees the Red Woman leaving the area he can confront or grab her, etc. Based on her behavior she's obviously not part of Klarg's retinue. I'd really like to question her to figure out her part in this situation. It's possible she's still inside the caves with the goblins but we have no idea how big this lair is. As soon as we get a hold of Yeemik, IF he's actually legit and not a traitorous little bastard, we should probably have him mobilize his people to help grab her. Or, at least keep her in the caves so we can subdue her, etc.
Thoughts?
edit: Also, how do you guys put the spoiler section in posts? Am I just missing the code or button to create that?

Don’t worry about the woman, you are about to have bigger problems.
Seems that way then. Sharloon just does as indicated in post. Waiting on guard near the exit towards water looking/listening for any approaching goblins or...whatever else may be in here.
Failing that, I'd say we may need to try a big time bluff here. I don't think Sharloon knows about the letter yet. But, I propose using it as a prop to make a point that appeals to Yeemik.
"50 gold? Well, ok...sure. But I'm pretty sure that the Queen of Athetome would pay quite a bit more than that to the one who rescued her personal representative. Sildar there has run errands for her several times and I imagine she'd reward someone who returned him unharmed with several hundred gold and her favor upon them. Of course, if he, or any other of her representatives were harmed...I imagine an entire cadre of knights would be upon this area killing everything that seemed mildly like a threat..." etc etc
I'd sell it hard too by waving the paper at him a bunch of times and generally act fairly imperious.
He may have zero idea who the queen is. Doesn't matter. We can potentially sell it as a carrot and stick scenario regardless. Main thing, if we want to avoid Sildar dying, is we have to get him from Yeemik's clutches. Then we reevaluate.
edit: also, Sharloon is NOT going to leave the door area with his prepared attack but I do think somebody should examine the chest. Maybe there is 50gp in there? Either way though we need to do something over the top or extravagant to make Yeemik's greed or judgement compromised. Wit ha charm spell we could just ask him to come on in without the guards so we can discuss it...
I am usually pretty free about Prestidigitation. As long as you aren’t seeking effects available to similar spells like minor illusions or trying to duplicate effects of higher level spells, we can roll with it. Be creative!
Personally, I say make sure our guy is good and is who they say he is, give them the gold, and come back for them later if we want. >:D we kinda have bigger fish to fry including our original job not to mention finding our captured Dwarf friend. I don't feel like we should even bother over the 50 up if we can spare it/find it

Agreed, but in my mind thats not the issue. At this point we have no way of holding Yeemik to anything. He can take the gold and then say..."And a hundred million more now please or I slit his throat."
The idea is to take away his (no pun intended) initiative. Force him to respond and react rather than act on his own plans, etc. I'm game to whatever. I'm just thinking we need to be doing something to put him off his game and throwing the momentum and leverage back to us.

Ha! Thank you. I knew it had to be on there somewhere and I was just missing it.
We shouldn't split up as long as we are in their lair. There is not telling if Yeemik will try to murder us.
I agree.
I agree as well.

The oldest rule in D&D - Don’t split the party. 😎
Figured I had to throw it out there though. Hate the idea of her potentially slipping away.

any ideas how to deal with this situation?
Anybody have any illusion magic or charm spells?

I have minor illusion.
Well, it's worth a try. Maybe he'll fall for it.
Jeb can apply Hex to Yemik to give him disadvantage to either Charisma or Wisdom checks.
Jeb can also cast Prestidigitation for some minor shenanigans only limited by my imagination and Razor's interpretation into the game.

I'll try to get Sildar into our room first. It would make the whole thing easier I think.
