Gripping his head once agin, a look of pain and pure anger washes over him, as he once again kicks the dwarf in the chest, then tries to follow it up with another shove((two shove attempts, first to G5 then F5. athletics 1: 16 athletics 2: 25 .)) he then tightens his grip on his maul, bringing it down in another wild arc ((one attack, reckless. 26 to hit doing 9 bludgeoning))
Ori'ckreturns to the tried and true method of bullying the dwarf about, shoving him a fair distance from the point with each attempt. Unfortunately, when bringing in the maul, the dwarf is shaken but not stirred.

After much blood, sweat, roars, and bold taunts, two great warriors clash culminate in the giant blooded of the pair is forced to take a knee the hard way. With that, a horn blares and signal fire bolts go out from the burning point, signaling an end to the match! Heavy Duty constructs and medical staff enter the arena both to stabilize conditions and escorts the defeated to the trauma ward with a backdrop of cheers and applause for having fought valiant against the odds. For their participation and experience garnered in the coliseum, Ori'ck receive 3800 xp and 400 gp. Just enough to yet at least allow Ori'ck to advance to the next stage of competition!
The Victor is meanwhile taken below to be patched up and receive their prize on the receding sounds of a crowd's cheers and well wishes! Rothander earns 7,500 xp and 1000 gold, and is ready to proceed to the next round as well.

"Take any one item. We're well equipped." The room contains every item from Chapter 5 of the Player's Handbook weighing 70 pounds or less, armor of varying sizes, instruments, tool kits. There are also spell scrolls, every first level spell is present (as well as spell scrolls of a level for which a magic user of the characters new level would have slots for), and an encyclopedia of knowledge. Reading these books will grant you proficiency with any one tool kit or any one language, depending which book you choose. The books are magically infused to allow easy retention, but the magic is lost once used.
Upper Tier:
The victor may choose instead, an item from a magically infused chest that summons 10 randomly selected magic items to choose from (rarity determined by level). Alternatively they may exchange a magic item for another item of their choosing of the same rarity or lower, if the administrator has the requested item in his extensive collection. "You name it, we've probably got one somewhere."
The next match will feature any interested level-3 competitors. The match will begin in the next 48 hours. Or sooner, if all level 3 contestants gather before then.
As morning turns to noon in Sel'eman, Arena Shapers both construct and not begining putting the final touches on everyone's favorite stony field, getting it into their most pristine shape in anticipation of newcomers both you and old blessing the arena!

The Map: 1... The Stony Fields - A wide field reminiscent of a familiar yet distant battle field outside of a makeshift encampment. The turf, heavily trodden, struggles to cling to life as the season nears its end. Large boulders lie in the field by sturdy trees. There are low stone walls and tall fortifications fashioned of sharpened wooden posts available for cover.
(Stepping over the short walls is difficult and will cost 5 extra feet of movement without a DC 10 Athletics or Acrobatics check. Attempting this check and failing will cause the character to fall prone.)

"Finally!" growled Darius as he walked onto the field. As he got into position, he stretched a bit, before drawing his rapiers and looking around for his competition.
Darius thought his youth was hard. A stubborn boy with a stubborn, strict father, he thought that running off to sea would be the beginning of a grand new life!
He couldn't have been more wrong.
Once aboard the ship of the Dread Pirate Doomstein, he quickly found himself forced into subjugation by hardened sea criminals who didn't care whether he lived or died. He fought hard... the first couple of days. But eventually had to acknowledge he had no choice but to adapt to this new way of life.
Over time, he learned the ways of sailing, fighting, piracy, and more. Eventually, he found himself an established crewman, and it wasn't until the captain declared his retirement that he realized, not only could he do what he wanted, but he probably could have left years ago. But it was just that... he had nowhere to go, and nothing else to do.
Deciding against taking up a captaincy of his own, Darius decided to try his hand at adventuring. Perhaps with a few treasure chests full of gold, and a bit of renown, he could return back to his hometown as something other than a COMPLETE lost cause....

Fenkas steps into the arena cracking his whip and his neck. Inside the arena, Fenkas slips on his gloves and spins in a circle. Clicking his heels together with a smile. Touching the crystal dangling from his neck with his free hand, Fenkas' form blurs and three illusory duplicates step out of him. They all glance around at each other before spinning around again in perfect time. One begins humming a low starting note and with that, each of the mirror images begin to hum in a soft harmony. Each of them broadens their grin as they continue humming while crouching low to the floor, taking cover behind the wall. Meanwhile, Syldorn flies overhead (20 feet in the air) keeping an eye on the rest of the battlefield and looking for potential danger.
Nova raises his large shield, holding it to the sky. With some devilish words, a swath of sickening Darkness radiates from his armor, obscuring the area within 15 feet of him. A maniacal hissing can be heard from the origin, courtesy of his familiar, an Imp chained to obey Nova's wishes. The Imp turns invisible.

A light grey half elf saunters into the arena, his white hair tied in a high knot, whistling a tune as he spins his short swords in his hands ((come in at 16C)) He says a brief incantation, a thin sheet of ice covering him ((cast Armor of Agathys ))

Fenkas' images shimmer as a bulky dwarf pushes him aside. "Foolish dwarf," he murmurs underneath his breath while his mirror images keep up the harmony. He moves aside though, knowing that he will show the slow, bulky man the ugly side of his whip once they get in the arena.
