And remember, if you cast Cure Wounds with a higher level slot, it does modify its effective spell level, so the bonus from the Disciple of Life feature is increased.
So if you cast Cure Wounds as a third level spell, for example, you get 3d8 + wisdom modifier + 5 from Disciple of Life.
In practice, I believe that this would be a fairly major piece of work, as the effect of many spells would be changed and it would need the dev team to implement a system that allows class features to modify the display text for spells.
Life domain is one subclass of one class, so currently that development time is better assigned to creating features that will be useful to all players.
This doesn't mean that D&D Beyond will never have life domain modifying cure spells, but that it might be a while until it does, sorry!
Thanks for the clarification Stormknight! This is important enough to merit some type of note or clarification in the Disciple of Life description. A newer player that is just using the excellent tools on Beyond is very likely to miss this detail, and will be playing/running clerics with Disciple of Life sub-optimally!
To be fair - I think compared to having nothing at all for the extended period of time it has taken to implement - a small note would probably have been preferable.
I'm struggling... My Cleric has Cure Wounds, stated as 1D8 +3 (spell modifier).
Disciple of Life gives +2 + Spells level, so in this case it would be +3.
Is that on top of the Modifier?
Sorry if it's a simple question, it seems to me that it is, but it seems a bit strong so wanted to double check.
Any Experience?: A few months, but i have played other tabletops (Warhammer mainly) including Inquisitor which was RP based.
Why do you want to try to DnD?: The freedom of actions and the storytelling aspect drew me in.
Are you looking for more RP, combat, or a mix: A mix, leaning to RP maybe.
Character: I have a few characters made up and am willing to play any. Prefer playing a more supportive role.
Yes, you get a +3 because of your WIS midifier, plus a +3 for Disciple of Life, for a total of +6.

Thanks guys, seems my brothers should have been getting a little extra!
This is strong.

Shouldn't DND beyond show the life bonus too? Is it just a bug or missed thing on their part?
Ideally it should, yes.

A better plan is that we implement a feature to add it automatically.
As explained above, it is a major piece of work, but it is something that we should do.

There hasn’t been any advancement in it in 3 years. How much advancement do you expect since yesterday?

There recently was a dev update mentioning a life domain cleric issue (fix), but it was not entirely clear to me if it related to this specific issue?
Hey, we figured it out with an alias called "Lifecast", so no biggie. If you need help in that regard, send me a message!
