Ok. I have been searching online for an answer to this question, with improved pact weapon, is the damage of the ranged item based on the common item usage? For example if I summon a heavy crossbow, it would be a 1d10 crossbow? This also negates the need to spend one hour to make a new weapon my hexblade? Like, unless theres a specific weapon you wanted to switch to?

1) Yes. You are effectively summoning a weapon from the weapon table. Treat them identically, except that it counts as magical +1 weapon.
2) The 1 hour ritual is for making a Magic Weapon, like Flame Tongue, a Pact Weapon.
Basically, you're walking around with an arsenal in your pocket. If you want a magic weapon in that arsenal, you need to perform the ritual.
3) "Hexblade" is your patron, not a weapon.
4) Improved Pact Weapon does not affect the ritual to make a Magic Weapon a pact weapon.

The original Pact of the Blade does this. You do not need the improved version to summon a new pact weapon as an action, but it is limited to melee weapons.

Yes and no. It does have the base damage dice of the heavy crossbow in the PHB. You can just assume that any weapon used by name is referring to the weapon list in the PHB. But this is summoned as a +1 weapon, so you get a +1 bonus to hit and attack on top of your usual +stat and +proficiency if you have it.

Its not clear what the question is? You can use a Xbow as pact weapon? Dmg can go up with feats, CH scores, or Dex scores....
