I really didn't have a lot of negative feedback for this one. I ranked the Elf as slightly satisfied across the board and told them I was disappointed in the addition of yet another elf.
I am super excited for the Giff overall, but wish they would drop the Damage Dealer in favor of something a bit more creative to avoid the "Generic Strong Guy" feel of the race.
I am also really excited for Thri-kreen and I am pretty happy with how they look as is.
The rest I had nothing bad to say or anything particularly good either. I don't see anything that would be troublesome as DM or all that interesting as a Player, so I just ranked them down the list as "Satisfied".

Yes. I was there. I didn't have any issues with the presentation of 4E. This isn't my first edition of D&D nor is it my first TTRPG. For 40 years I have been playing one RPG or another. Thank you for sharing your opinion. We disagree. Lets leave it at that.
If you were there, you ought to remember that it was a widely criticized aspect of the edition and hardly just "my" opinion.
It literally does not matter. I don't need you to "explain" anything to me and I don't need to justify my preferences to you. So if you don't mind, please leave me alone.
I skipped 4e because I started boycotting WotC the moment they announced 4e. They went from 3e to 3.5 and then a 4e was coming in less time than I had played 2e. It pissed me off. My 2e books had significantly more longevity and lower prices. I figured, eff ‘em. They were gonna sales gouge like that then they don’t need my money and I don’t need their crap. Its a shame really, by all accounts I would have probably loved 4e.
I genuinely prefer UA more than published because the glossy paper and the colorful pictures and all that fluff you gotta skip over to get to the crunchy bits…. (Heck, at time they put too much fluff for me in UAs.) You know all that conflation people make between flavor and mechanic? Half the time I don’t get why they say the rule doesn’t make sense until I go back and read that stuff I had previously skipped. After reading more of that stuff now it occurs to me that they suck at describing what the mechanics do. For people who look to the glavornfirst the mechanics are disjointed, and for those that look to mechanics first think the fluff is arbitrary and barely applicable.
If they could just address that issue with their publications, it would solve a lot. I mean, what a novel concept, having descriptions and rules that actually go together and suit one another. like having your wall colors and your accent trim color that complement instead of clashing.

I said the exact same thing about the Giff! Boring, it’s just boring.
For the Thri-kreen I said I was surprised it had that S/M size when in 2e they were Large. I mentioned I had anticipated Powerful Build and a Jump distance boost and was surprised they were kinda the opposite.
I said the Autognome was boring, it’s just a small Warforged. I suppose that was a “reduce, reuse, recycle” hat trick for them in one race! 🤣😂🤣
I said that I thought the others were fine. At least those weren’t boring.

On the Autognome I bet when it gets published it will be exactly Warforged (small) just cause healing spells not listed as working on them will more then likely ruled at each table as not working on the, as it will be argued it wasn't listed specifically as working on them.

It’s A UA. They will find a way to make it worse.
Truth.
Lies. Might I remind people of the highly beloved Drakewarden and the Dragonborn, the much improved Gothic Lineages, the fixed Genie and several dozen other items in Tasha's, etc. The ones that have attracted ire are big ones outside of the normal (eg. Strixhaven, the Archivist, the Mystic), and bad responses because they were original ruined them because of community "misunderstandings"; I will note that, while many have problems with Tasha's, many more do, in fact, love the book, as evidenced by it being a bestseller, still beating the incredibly hyped Candlekeep Mysteries, VRGtR, and many other books, so the UA was largely successful in fact.

As one of those who “[has] problems with” Tasha’s, the only thing I can call “successful” about it is that it successfully proves game design by global committee is a terrible idea.
I said that the Giff should have a link to firearms, the flying monkey was boring and unappealing to me and that I didn't need anotherElf. I did like the Plasmoid, a lot, and I hope that it's the first in many non humanoid shaped creatures. The Thri-Kreen I said, were a good addition but that I hoped they would finally bite the bullet and give us real Psionics not what we have at the moment. The mini Warforged I don't have really an opinion about. But then I don't see myself playing the first one so meh. All in all I liked the races with some adjustments.
The problem with Giff and firearms is that they are an optional thing in the core books, and a lot of tables don't allow them, so it's rough trying to structure a race around them.
The problem with Giff and firearms is that they are an optional thing in the core books, and a lot of tables don't allow them, so it's rough trying to structure a race around them.
This is both true and unfortunate in this instance. Any table that is using Giff are also using Firearms considering the monster stat block for the Giff includes:
Firearms Knowledge. The giff’s mastery of its weapons enables it to ignore the loading property of muskets and pistols.
Multiattack. The giff makes two pistol attacks.
Musket. Ranged Weapon Attack:+4 to hit, range 40/120 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d12 + 2) piercing damage.
Pistol. Ranged Weapon Attack:+4 to hit, range 30/90 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d10 + 2) piercing damage.
Fragmentation Grenade (1/day). The giff throws a grenade up to 60 feet. Each creature within 20 feet of the grenade’s detonation must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 17 (5d6) piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
As a side note, I think that we are starting to see a shift in how common Firearms are in D&D. The Gunslinger is a relatively popular homebrew subclass, WotC published the Gunner Feat and we now have a magical musket in the latest book. If we get a Spelljammer book, I believe it is likely to have Firearms in it and possibly an official subclass for them.
I just filled out the survey. I'll go ahead and copy/paste my answers for time:
ASTRAL ELF Overall: slightly satisfied "Overall it's fine, though I wonder if there couldn't be a more interesting race to pull from the astral plane than another elf subrace. Astral Fire is interesting in concept, but the race has darkvision, making two of the three options near-useless unless you know your party members will need a light source, and even then it's more likely to be a better option for those characters to take it. I like the rewording of standard elf traits in the new fey ancestry and trance features. Trance proficiencies is sensational. I worry radiant soul is a bit overstrong. Maybe key it to the third successful death save instead of the first."
AUTOGNOME Overall: satisfied "Armored casing is fine, invalidates some spells and subclass features, but not every race is suited for everything else in the game. Built for success is a fun little mini-guidance. Mechanical nature and sentry's rest seem largely ported from Warforged, they're fine. Same with specialized design. True life is niche, but functional and great flavor. No real notes."
GIFF Overall: dissatisfied "This is an incredibly dull, generic "strong person" race that doesn't really offer much we don't already get from half-orc, orc, goliath, loxodon, leonin, and so on. With hippo people, I'd expect something to do with jaws. Maybe an alternate crazy grapple move you can do with your mouth. They can eat nearly anything, maybe a poison resistance or immunity to disease? From what I've heard, the race historically has a heavy tie to firearms. I understand that's difficult because they're optional in the core books and a lot of tables don't use them, but there must be SOMETHING interesting that can be done with that. Maybe they work with gunpowder and explosives so much they get a feature like "Charred Hands. You have resistance to fire damage and when you roll a 1 on a damage die for an attack roll which would deal fire damage, you can reroll the die and use the new roll. You can do so no more than once per turn." There just has to be more to hippo people than "they big, they smash.""
HADOZEE Overall: slightly satisfied "I like everything that's here, I just feel like they could use one more trait, as it's a bit sparse. The climbing speed is great, but tabaxi already have it, and this doesn't add much on top of it. Sorry, I don't have many suggestions. What's there is good, it's just lacking a little something extra to make it stand out. Glide is great but VERY niche."
PLASMOID Overall: very satisfied "This is easily the best one in the UA, I genuinely can't think of any notes or changes. I hope it's identical (or somehow better?) in full release."
THRI-KREEN Overall: slightly satisfied "I like the stealth aspect of chameleon carapace, but find the AC recalculation a bit dull, especially since it's identical to the Autognome one and draconic sorcerer one. Maybe just make it a flat +1 AC bonus with or without armor. Or do that on autognome (like warforged) and keep this. Sleepless is fine, though it's seeming like less and less races need to sleep these days. Telepathy is crazy strong, and better than Kalashtar's, so could maybe use a mild nerf. Secondary arms is the big one, and feels a bit overcomplicated. There's a lot of points and restrictions, and feels like the most convoluted way to handle a cool idea. It may be easier to just say you get an additional bonus action and let things like two-weapon fighting and cunning action do the heavy lifting for you there."
Final comments: "One thing I love about this UA is branching out into creature types other than humanoid. It's been done before with a handful of Fey creatures and some UA that were changed away from that before final release, but this is more than ever before. But key to making that work will be some heavy reappraisal of what creature types MEAN outside of just "Charm Person" doesn't work on you. I like Autognome's True Life well enough, but since creature types don't have anything inherently attached to them, it actually takes away one of the VERY FEW things that makes Constructs unique among creature types by allowing standard healing to work on them. We need a table or something that specifies what a creature type means inherently. Something like "Fey" makes you immune to being charmed, "Ooze" makes you immune to acid damage, "Construct" means you can't be healed, only repaired, "Aberration" inherently gives you a telepathic trait, and so on. Because right now, it's little more than flavor and minor interactions with a handful of spells and rules. I like the idea, but it needs an expansion to really mean anything.
Everything here shows promise, and I don't like seeing UA abandoned, so I'd love to see how this ends up at official release of whatever Planejammer or Spellscape book it inevitably comes out with. There's just a few that need real work, most notably Giff and Hadozee. Astral Elf and Thri-Kreen and Autognome all need a little extra zhuzh.
