- why are we throwing around the concept of the dragonlance setting getting its own book? Does it like feature dragons more prominently than other settings or is there some reference to lore specific to that setting that i missed?
- why would the hobgoblins be related to the fae? is this just something they made up for the sake of an interesting race or is this something that was a thing in one of the older editions?
- how big is the Fairy supposed to be? is it meant to be about as big as halflings, gnomes and other small races or is it meant to be only slightly bigger than most tiny creatures?

I mean, getting both a Draconomicon and and Dragonlance Setting book would be sweet.
With the more recent statement that WotC will be increasing it’s cadence of releases for books, there is a slight possibility that we might be getting books based on planes (like the Feywilds for these UA).
Personally, I think books on monster types and how to creature encounters and even unique monsters for your campaign would be pretty cool Dm resource that you could also include new player options like races/lineages, subclasses, feats, backgrounds, magical items and spells. Plus you can make those types of books campaign agnostic, with guidelines for how those creatures tend to function in specific settings.
I know I personally want monster books on Dragons, Plants and more powerful Beasts, Celestial, Fey, Constructs, Aberrations, and Monstrosities.
no 5e book has ever had a theme in-universe other than like mordekinen's tombe of foes and the blood war / the outer planes, it is incredebly unlikely we will see a dracnomicon or something like it

Dragonlance is one of the only core settings to have dragons as one of the crucial element to the world itself, as they are the true children of the world of Kyrnn if I recall.
I believe only Eberron has had Dragons be as important to the world as Dragonlance, and much of the Dragon’s history in Eberron is shrouded in mystery due to the secretive nature of the Dragons in that world.
So it’s not surprising that many believe the Draconic subclasses could be for Dragonlance. I’d still prefer a Draconomicon but more dragon content regardless works for me.

"Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
My thoughts on a Dragonlance book aren't so much tied to the earlier UA as the fact that WotC is bankrolling another novel trilogy and the around three "classic settings" being revisited comment. I just don't see WotC putting out three novels (including all the contending with the original creatives to include litigation) unless they were invested in using it as a gateway or tie in to actual game products.
I could see a setting agnostic Draconomicon being published separately as both the Dragon souled monk or Drakewarden ... I can't see those class features in Krynn. Of course my understanding of DL is based purely on the original Chronicles trilogy, and I know the setting has done deep dives into the history before the Heroes of the Lance (the Time of Huma was supposed to be a more heroic age, thought the actual books show it to be just as cynical, just Huma was particularly heroic, eventually) as well as its future, So unless the bond between dragons and humans/humanoids in Krynn had evolved significantly beyond what you see in the original novels, Dragon monks and Drakewardens are very much a WTH?
While the first trilogy novel cones out this summer, and I don't know is the plan for them to come out annually, or every six months? I could see the novel being a ramp up for 2022 which could be marketed as Wizards "Year of the Dragon" so you'll get a lot of Dragon specific work, both a draconomicon and Dragonlance.
I'd also like to think the comment that Wizards was exploring different sorts of products meant things other than hardback books, so either Draconomicon or Dragonlance could land in one of those. Like maybe they could partner with that multi thousand dollar bespoke gaming table I think Wyrmwood is putting out. The top of the table is tooled with the word "FLIP". Underneath the table are the rules to the Path of the Dragon Barbarian, the rules for DRAGONRAGE carved 8 font points larger than the main text. DRAGONRAGE must be earned.
The nitpicker in me forces me to point out that there is a gold dragon in Dragon Heist defending the pile of gold coins (which are also called "dragons"), but I will say that that is a pretty great burn.
Okay. It's been about 3 weeks since the last UA came out. Any guesses on a) if there will be a new UA within the next week or so and b) what such a UA would contain?
They've been doing lineages/races recently, two in a row. They could keep making more, possibly other planar lineages/races, or they could pivot to something else like subclasses, magic items, and so on.
I would love to have more unique magic items that aren't really items, like magical tattoos. For example, they could also do something like magical hair-dye that makes you better at Performance, fingernail polish that make you better at Persuasion checks, or war paint that makes you better at Intimidation checks, and piercings that make you better at Deception.

I'm down for more magic equipment. I honestly wouldn't mind a decent sized dump of middling-to-slightly impressive magic items. not anything groundbreaking, just things that would be maybe situationally useful. Like say, aWand of Smiles or a Hat of Wizardry (Though I know the hat is actually much better than its rank would indicate).

It's ok Ranger, you'll always be cool to me.. Unless druid gets another use for its wild shape charges.
I know Cleric has way more subclasses than the majority of other base classes, but I wouldn't mind a Travel/Adventure/Merchantry Domain. Sort of like Forge or Knowledge, with an emphasis on mobility/storage/social situations.

Hm. That would be interesting. I'm assuming they'd get spells for teleportation and creating extradimensional spaces, right? That sounds cool. I'm personally fine with Clerics having the most subclasses, as there are a ton of different deities that have been worshipped in the real world whose domains/portfolios could be translated to 5e. Hermes could be a Travel/Merchant Domain Deity, if such a domain would ever come out, Poseidon could be a Tempest/Ocean Domain Deity, and Pluto could be a Death/Grave/Wealth Domain Deity.

Yea, the big ones in my mind were Misty Step, Dimension Door, Teleportation Circle, Galder's Speedy Courier, and Tenser's Floating Disk, along with a few enchantment and transmutation spells. Channel Divinity could be an extradimensional dumpster that serves as a bag of holding? I like casters that focus more on utility than raw damage, so having a cleric who can heal you, teleport you, store your things, and maybe even out haggle a merchant would be a wonderful thing in my opinion.

Yes Dragonlance features Dragons far more prominently than any other setting.

They can put what they want in as filler, as long as the UA is centered on DRAGONRAGE, the table will not be flipped. Or will be flipped,.

I really hope we see a follow-up to the dragon ranger and the dragon monk, though I suppose it's more likely that we won't until it gets published.
