Isn't The End intentionally barren as part of its aesthetics?
Yeah, plus, statistically, only 10% of the player base gets the ‘Free the End’ achievement or something similar, so an End update would be for only around 10% of the players.
1. That only counts people that aren't playing with keep inventory or cheats, at least on bedrock.
2. That's probably because there's not much point to it besides the elytra.

Hello! I am a perfectly sane gibberer. Hi! :D
Locations are dead, the Temple of Potassium has fallen but its ideals live on
I've been trying to come up with a protagonist for my comic I'm trying to get around to writing, and I just came up with a power for them.
So my magic system is based around biology taken to supernatural extremes, kind of like the Gourmet Hunters in Toriko or the monsters in Dungeon Meshi. You have a Primary mutation, which determines the theme for all future mutations. Your mutations are determined by your specific tactics and the amount of Vitae (life energy stuff) you have in your body to cause the mutation. So, say your Primary is Predator, meaning you have sharp claws, teeth, and enhanced senses. You could get Night Vision, Shadow Blending (disappearing in the dark, an evolution of Night Vision), and Flash Lunge (fill yourself with killing intent to teleport forward) if you're an ambush predator. But if you were an endurance predator, you might get Debilitation (be able to apply weakness), Intimidation (fills weaker foes with fear, an evolution of Debilitation), and Armor of Terror (foes who are afraid of you cannot harm you, and evolution of Intimidation).
I wanted my protag to have a weak but versatile power. So my idea? Stockpile. A higher percentage of their calorie intake becomes fat, they can remain healthy and mobile with large amounts of weight, and they can rapidly convert fat back into energy way, way faster than any normal human can. So at first, that sounds almost worthless in a fight, but all powers run on calories in this world, which means food is primarily reserved for the elite and the military, which means it's even more useless to have a power that revolves around calories.
But here's the kicker: they can use calories to power their basic processes. So if they have the energy, they can run faster, put more strength into a punch, jump higher, and heal faster.
The catch is that they need that energy more than even those with stronger Primaries. So the power is weak on a fundamental level, but very versatile in both possible future mutations and current uses.
First off, like the branch mutation idea. Secondly, so it is similar to how the Flash has to eat constantly to fuel his speed?
Exactly! And you need specially prepared food made from supernatural ingredients to get stronger. And those supernatural ingredients run on the same power system as you.

Yikes. Hyper specific ability that could be strong, but needs a lot of work. Yeah, I agree that it’s good for a protagonist. Now I have a question. What type of Mutations do you think I would have in this world?

I gotta be honest, I don't know how you act IRL, like how you deal with problems. I didn't say my whole system, but basically you need to be actually experiencing stress and using some sort of tactic for your body to evolve. Most people here avoid real conflict like the plague, so I really don't have a good idea of what your power would be.
Conflict avoidance would likely give you mobility or stealth, but pretty much any average person could get those. Really, it's based on your personality and I haven't interacted with you IRL or online enough to get a really good read. You're definitely a good writer, but I'm not sure that would factor in.

Actually, this is closer to Izuku's use of All For One really early on, but powered by calories and dealing damage to stamina instead of actual bone. Fat Gum is sticky and can reflect damage. That second trait would actually be a great mutation later on though, due to the concept of the main power being Stockpile.

I'd say I'd have Mimicry, specifically in the aggressive vein. I would be able to instill fear very effectively without having to actually be dangerous, then seem harmless again when I want to hang out. A little talent I have IRL is the ability to be really, really mean. Like, not clever, just super, unrelentingly cruel. At the same time, I have a very strong sense of empathy which means I can basically love and/or forgive anyone. These two talents really suck to have together, but could be useful as a literal superpower. Maybe a later mutation would be a sort of Power Copy, but it only works for the visuals. So someone with say, Pyrosis, I could make illusions of their fireballs after I witness theirs.

Not really sure you understand Fat Gum’s power fully. His quirk is Fat Absorption, which allows him to rapidly intake large amounts of food and gain immense fat and calories, to the point at which a normal person would quite literally die from over eating. This thick fat allows many things, namely, absorption of blunt force, to the point that you pretty much can’t hurt him with anything non-pointed, even then, there’s a lot to get through. He can also manipulate the fat in his body with insane precision and control, able to thicken more specific parts of his body, along with giving the illusion of absorbing objects. But it’s really power is the fact that Fat Gum can burn all those calories in near instant, which he can use to greatly increase his physical power, either in one super powered punch, or a few minutes of superhuman performance. That is what I was drawing a comparison to
