Very nice! How is the PbP going? I've looked through a few of them and it's not really my style. I write on some RP boards on another site, but it seems way different trying to get rolls and things involved.

The Eberron one I'm in is much more storyteller than die rolls. We have a discord in case we all need to get together for some fast paced combat or RP. It's been a surprisingly very active OOC chat while posting.
I've been meaning to check out a game on Roll20. I've signed up, life has just gotten a little busy that I'm afraid to get into a game myself, lol. But, it'll calm down soon enough (Y)

I've been using roll20 for years and have enjoyed it (using skype for voice comms at the moment since that's what all of my players already had, but really you can use anything -- I wouldn't particularly recommend the built-in voice chat though unless they figured out a way to make it not cut you out when you have to reload the page). That said, the GM will need one of the paid tiers to use the nice features like dynamic lighting/line of sight (players can all be on the free tier without issue).
I haven't used Fantasy Grounds yet, so don't know how well that one works.
I signed up for Roll20 years ago, but never got the chance to test it out. But the new group I'm in uses it, and while it takes a bit of getting used to, it works wonderfully. Going to take some learning, though.
Click your token to drag it around. Without releasing the mouse button, press the spacebar. This will produce a yellow ruler starting from where your token originally was to its current position, so you can see how far you've moved. If you press spacebar again, it will set a "break point" at your token's current position, allowing you to accurately measure moves with twists and turns. When you release the mouse button in your final destination, the token will zoom around on everyone else's screen following all of the break points you've set.
If you can select a token, press Z to zoom in on it. If you're the GM, you can select a token and do Shift+Z to make it zoom in on everyone's screen.
For darkvision, give the token a light source that only it can see. For low-light vision, give the token a light multiplier (so existing light sources extend farther only for them).
With your token selected, you can roll to the initiative tracker by adding &{tracker} to the end of your roll, for example /roll 1d20+2 &{tracker}. Useful if the character sheet isn't being used or the sheet doesn't have an initiative roll button.
You can use the arrow keys to move around one square at a time as well as clicking and dragging your token.
If you hold down Alt while moving (either with the arrow keys or by drag&drop), you will no longer snap to the grid. With the arrow keys, this will move you 1 pixel at a time, with the drag&drop it will drop you exactly where you moved the token to. This can be useful to indicate you navigating around hazards like pit traps by hugging the outer edge of the square. Holding down Alt with the ruler selected also lets you measure from any arbitrary point to any arbitrary point (not snapped to grid).
As the GM, you can select one or more tokens and do Ctrl+L to see what those tokens see, as if you were a player in control of those tokens. This is a great way to test your dynamic lighting layers to make sure there aren't any holes in it, or if you aren't quite sure what a player is actually seeing. Normally the GM view just makes non-visible stuff dimmer, while doing this trick will make anything non-visible completely black (just like what a player would see). Unselecting the tokens will return your vision to normal.
GMs also have a "rejoin as player" button in their settings (gear tab in right sidebar). This can be useful if you're projecting the roll20 map in a physical meetup and don't want players to see all of your GM notes and such. You'll rejoin to whatever the active player map is, and you'll need to assign yourself permissions to any relevant tokens beforehand.
If you use the ruler tool in the dynamic lighting or GM layer, it will not be visible to players. If you use the ruler tool in the map or token layer, all players can see the ruler. It's a great way to freak your players out if you start measuring from something outside of their vision to ending at some player at random (either the one in front, or the squishiest one). Especially if there's nothing actually there.
You can roll with advantage by specifying 2d20kh1 or disadvantage via 2d20kl1 -- this will roll 2 d20's and keep the highest or lowest, respectively.
You can split the party into multiple maps by opening the map selection window (top bar), and then dragging the player's icons from the bottom left (where their color/name/and maybe video chat is) onto one of the maps. To unsplit the party, drag the icon back onto the ribbon indicating the player map.
Awesome! I'm starting up with new group either next week or the week after, should be fun I hope

Weekend went well. Spent most of it between trolling the forums, playing a PbP, and catching up on some shows.

We're doing our campaign over Roll20 with a discord server to communicate. We had a blast and I'm looking forward to the next game.

Same here HypeFox. I've been tinkering around with roll 20 in attempts to get used to it. May jump into something soon.
I hear Fantasy Grounds is a good one too. Might check that out :)

My favorite roll20 tricks:

I have been forced to remove the beautiful Kraken from my sig.
May he rest in peace
Sorry, man. I love Kraken.
