looking over the object you can create with this class and animate, if the object is large at least ( and you are medium or smaller) then you can make anything. since the animated item has a str score of 18 that allows it to easily carry someone. This also added onto the fact it can fly I think 30ft a round. This is awesome. Now the other question is how would this work for mounted combat?
treat it as you would treat a horse. you would need to animate something with a seat, but that would be the only constraint. apart from that, thanks for the Idea
If you're a Small race like a Gnome or Halfling, you could use Performance of Creation to create a Medium throne and then Animating Performance on it. Now you can ride on a throne, bashing enemies with it as you sling spells. No spell slots required.

fair enough, and no problem! My wife and I realized it last night when we jokingly asked about it for fighting a grapple.
Make a flying fort designed like the ogre howdah. Be in 3/4 cover while standing and full cover while crouching/prone. We're basically talking about a wardrobe with part of it missing, so it wouldn't be that expensive, either, in terms of the gp limit. If you can swing whatever your GM rules the gp cost is, obviously make it out of rock or steel (if you go with steel, line the inside with a good insulator so you can have heat metal debates; I recommend whatever hide armor is made from), not wood.
Bonus: you can flip it upside down and you have a diving bell with a swim speed.
