I've been working on a few spells, mostly adaptations from previous versions, but a couple of original spells too, and as of last night, I'm no longer able to edit them. There used to be an edit button in the details page, but now I need to click create new version, go to the list of my homebrew, expand, and then there is an edit button in the non-submitted version that will allow me to embellish or spell check. Was this intended? It is now quite a bit harder to correct mistakes within material that I add, and much less intuitive.
The problem being, especially now, that until it is published, homebrew content can't be shared in a group.
That’s not true. If you all join the same campaign on DDB then everybody’s homebrew is automatically shared with everyone else in the campaign. As long as you keep it in your “collection” then everyone can all use it for their characters. That’s why when you hit “share with community” it always says this when it asks you to confirm:
Remember, your private homebrew in your homebrew collection is automatically shared with users in your campaigns. You do NOT need to share it with the entire community for your campaigns to have access. Only click the submit button if you want the entire DDB community to have access.
They won’t be able to click the link and read it like a published homebrew, but if they create a character in that campaign and look under race options they will all be right there for them to browse and select.

Published Homebrew cannot be edited. You have to create a new version.
I would suggest not publishing until you've completed everything and playtested everything.

That’s only one of the many, many reasons why one should never publish a homebrew until all of the playtesting, editing, and revisions are completed.
