Apologies if has already been addresses or I have overlooked the how.
A friend asked for advice on spells for the mid-level wizard he is making. When I view his character I can see the spells he has prepared but cannot find a way of seeing what spells are in his spellbook. I think this would be useful for not only my current situation.
There is a cog in the lower right corner of the spells tab. Click that and you can see them.

Click the little cog wheel in the lower right corner while on the "spells" and you can see the Spellbook.

The sidebar unfortunately does not appear to be scrollable on either desktop or mobile, which ends up cutting off a lot of spells. Also, it would be nice to have a way to see unprepared rituals without going into the sidebar.

Firefox and Edge on desktop and Firefox Android on mobile. After your post I tried GNOME Web and it is scrollable there. It appears to be an issue with any non-Blink (or non-WebKit?) browser, however.
Overall I like the new layout! I've been playing with it a few days now.
A couple of revisions:
1. Option to use the old swipe right or left for the different pages, instead of the menu button.
2. Spell layout was better before the update.
3. Sometimes I get stuck, and find myself back in the character edit screen.
Also I mostly use the character sheets on my phone, so I'm especially sensitive to the ease of mobile navigation. I thought overall while the information and look of the new layout is better. The ease of use on the phone was better before.
What is less than ideal: linking what was otherwise viewable at a scroll/glance (especially spells) is a time-taker, pop-ups take a click or two to remove, listing all proficiencies in a vertical banner cuts the screen in a clunky fashion, and cutting the icons for magical items gives things a plainer look (aesthetically speaking).
What is not so bad: tighter grouping of the data, nostalgia for the D&D look of the 90's, and at least a chance to look at a deeper dive of the features without thumbing through the PH.
That said - I really do not like this new build. It is cumbersome, a drag on dynamic play, not intuitive, and still a bit sloppy (bits of code keep showing up in the text). In my view, I sincerely believe that dndbeyond.com ought to make the UI's optional. My two cents. Thanks much.
Not sure if it's intentional or a bug, but when I activate my Bladesong, nothing changes. I'd rather like for the bonus to saves and AC to show up when I ding that.
Temporary effects such as this, or a Barbarian's 'rage' feature are not yet implemented. It is planned for the future, but no defined timeline at this point.
What I do is create a magic item with the bonuses/changes associated named after the feature. When I activate the feature, I equip the item, and everything changes for me.
I just edited the AC to 15/17, speed to 25/35, and added a note about the saves. Adv on Acrobatics I'd just have to remember no matter what, as there isn't really room for a note on the sheet. doesn't work on the browser sheet, though, only the exported sheet.
Any word on when companions and familiars will be in the sheet, btw?
I have been using a paper character sheet since it is easier for at a glance look at saving throws, ability checks, attack bonus' and DnD Beyond for everything that changes constantly like XP, HP, items, currency, and limited use abilites.
Being able to swipe left and right to each tab worked really well-especially on a phone.
Having to click the tiny menu button, and then a small icon doesn't make any logical sense on mobile over being able to swipe left and right. Then when I do click on say inventory to use a limited use item, I have to click again on that item which opens the side panel, then again to use a charge, then again to close the side panel(instead of the back key-why?) then again on the menu button to go back to the usual ability/attribute page.
If anything, on the main ability/attribute page at the bottom should be a section for all of your limited use items, with the boxes to denote charges.
Worse yet from a UI standpoint it's coded so that hitting back goes to the character selection page and not the previously pulled up part of the character sheet. Nor are the chosen sections from the menu a popup where back would simply close them after I was done interacting with them. Why does this not follow how most of the web works on a mobile device?
With the adblock plus browser which is based on mozilla(I think) and the Chrome browser while in landscape view, the "Notes" button is completely obscured, and both "Features and Traits" and "Spells" are partially obscured by the D&D Beyond banner at the top of the page. I can't zoom in or out to make them visible either.
On desktop, it isn't so bad. Having everything I click on open the side panel to interact with whatever I clicked on is annoying. I do like that there are now boxes to check for weapons as a hexblade instead of being forced to make custom attacks so that CHA was used. I again think there should be a section that has all of the limited use items/class/racial stuff.

The way the back button works on mobile device browsers is reverting the previous URL. Moving from section to section in the character sheet doesn't change the URL so the back button takes you back to the character selection screen. If this were a native application it would do what you described, but not on the web. Some web developers get around this by adding a hash to the URL for navigation. This method would allow the back button to do this.

I guess I was not clear. I am viewing his character in a campaign. Not at his login. I see the cog mentioned when I open a wizard character but not when viewing someone else's wizard through a campaign.

You're right. I had it mentioned and deleted it when I changed what I wanted to say.
Any chance of getting the top/height of the side panel to be the same height as the rest of the character sheet panels. It feels off to have that one taller than the rest of the sheet. Especially if you scroll all the way down.
I am also struggling to use the character sheet on mobile because of the navigation relying on the back button, which takes you back to the "My Characters" screen.
I'm on iOS 11.4, iPhone SE, Safari browser. Are there plans for a native app? I downloaded the D&D Beyond app thinking it would allow access to the character builder, not just content.
I really like the new character sheet, clean easy to read, and looks like a dungeons and dragons character sheet in digital form. The only thing I would change is that trying to add items from the equipment section is a little tough to find unlike the former character sheet.
Beautiful on desktop, meh oh iPhone, but this is a hot mess on an iPad
The previous sheet worked beautifully and let me split my iPad Pro into two apps: half screen Safari with my character sheet and half screen OneNote where I took notes. The new sheet just doesn’t work great in this setup and it’s a huge drag.

Yeah... I found this out the hard way when creating a character for someone as we are converting to a standard 5E game. I sent him the link. I happened to also check it out as I wanted to see what the sharing view looked like.
Open link, click spells... and EMPTY! Really? I mean, come on here. I was very frustrated. So I exported the sheet as a PDF and sent that to him. I'm really starting regret purchasing so many books here.

the DM of a campaign and the actual players can't see the Manage Spells section because it's more than just a list of known spells - it allows editing of everything about those spells. Another user that is not the DM or player would not need access to this edit functionality, so the gearwheel is removed in read-only mode.
If the specific request is to expose the "spellbook" of a wizard, we can look into that.
If you click the "Hide" action - it has a text error that it appears is meant to be a link to "Stealth". You actually read the brackets [ skill ] and [ / skill ] instead of being linked accordingly. Read below:
When you take the Hide action, you make a Dexterity ( [ skill ] Stealth [ / skill ] ) check in an attempt to hide, following the rules for hiding. If you succeed, you gain certain benefits, as described in the "Unseen Attackers and Targets" section later in this chapter.
Same problem with the "Ready" and "Search" actions - text coding errors.

My thoughts on the new character sheet design?

When filling in my character's skin with "Tattoos cover 90% of my body, but they are only visible when I am shorn", I got this message:
You have discovered a portal to a new plane where things are not working as intended.
