Someone may have already said this, but when you follow the Join Campaign link, and you choose to create a character, it takes you right to the full builder. Could that be changed to take them to the page where you can choose how you want to create it (like with help text, or do the quick builder, or random)? That would be much simpler for my first time players so I can just tell to click Quick Builder.

I thought it was already doing this. If it's not, we'll definitely get that resolved.
For Paladin's, Always prepared spells are taking up spell slots and wont allow other spells to be prepared. Also keeps the character from being 'finished'.
I created a 3rd-level warlock with the Book of Ancient Secrets Eldritch Invocation. There's no place in the character builder to list my rituals. Additionally, my character has transcribed another ritual discovered during his adventures, so the character builder should allow me to record more than just the initial two rituals. Thanks for taking my suggestion under advisement.
Are we going to be able to add a homebrew class or race?
Hi Elimyst,
currently, homebrew is limited to Items, Spells & Monsters. The staff team are planning to continue to develop the whole homebrew solution, to allow the community to further customise the game.
I would love to see the option for the exported character sheet to display descriptions for spells and abilities. My DM doesn't allow electronics at the gaming table, so I can't refer to my D&D Beyond character sheet -- I need the information that I refer to frequently on my paper character sheet. I don't want to eat up time looking things up in the PHB, so my current solution is to cut and paste the descriptions that I commonly use into a document, then print it and bring it to the table. It would save a lot of effort if the character sheet provided this automatically.
I used the character builder to create my wife's PC. I didn't find an option to change the player name that prints on the exported character sheet, nor to leave it blank. It's currently showing my Twitch screen name.
It would be cool to be able to move the boxes around on the character sheet, so that way the things I use most often (spells, single use, equipment) that I have to scroll to the bottom for, can be swapped with the things I use less often (features, description, notes). I would like to have DDB character sheets up for my characters while I play, but have a little customization with my screens real estate. Just so I can focus on the game a little more.
This is a minor thing though, I'm very happy with everything else.
One thing I would like to see is for the "show help text" check box to remember your choice or only show it by default for your first character. It isn't something I need to see every time I build a character.

Hmm. I'm sure this has been asked and answered too, but apparently my Google-Fu is weak.
Now that there have been a number of tweaks to the builder and character sheets, and we've gone live, can we link to our characters so that they can be viewed by anyone, or can they only be seen by someone they are in a campaign with? Can we put a link in our sig to our character in a PbP here, or use those links externally if we're in a PbP at another site, but using a character built here - that sort of thing. Thanks!

Unfortunately this functionality is yet to be introduced, though Badeye says it is coming soon!
So at the moment only you and a DM of a campaign that the character is in can view the character.

Thanks for the clarification! I suspected as much, but couldn't tell for sure on my own. That and plenty more improvements to come, I'm sure. This is just going to get better and more useful day by day. Exciting times!
Range on weapons. Versatile weapons appear to be displaying both sets, but getting the range of an attack is not trivially available expanding the option doesn't display it, so I believe at the moment we have to search compendium content to find it.
Throwing in my vote for the ability to easily select Starting Equipment based on your class, and have Background equipment added automatically. If someone opts to use their class starting gold instead, it would be very nice to have an easy way to have the gold cost of items displayed when searching for them (maybe even deducting from the players currency automatically if they've entered that as well).
Also, not that it isn't setup well already, but players seem to be confused where to add their spells.
Everything else is great so far, really loving the system. I have a group of 7, and the entire process has gone very smoothly with very little input from me other than Equipment and Spells.

BadEye, will anyone from the team be at GenCon? I would love you shake everyone’s hand. It would be to cost prohibitive to buy everyone a beverage.
Apologies if this has been asked before, thread is huge!
Would there be any way that we could include an option to also roll random Ideals, Bonds, and Flaws for randomised characters?
Love the site, thanks for all your hard work!
Is there going to be homebrew class or race additions in the future?

Initiative Bonus (NOT Tracker)
Looking for an easy way to add a +1 to a character's initiative WITHOUT adding it as an overall dex bonus.
Has anyone seen the ability to do this?
Sorry, I've tried searching the forum but all the results seem to be about wanting an initiative tracker.

I play a medium amount of board games.
Great work everyone, just wanted to report 2 issues that I detected.
1) Human race variant doesn't give you the whole list o feats to choose from, just 2 and the one is svirfneblin magic.
2) When you create a warlock, you can only select the fiend patron, nothing else.
