I love your site, great tools etc. but why don't you let people upload their character's appearance image?
It's so tedious having to edit the saved PDF output of the player sheet. Also, would be good to be able to see in on the online player sheet somewhere.
Just open Adobe, click on the box on the 2nd page of the PDF. Select your image in the file selector box that pops up. Save PDF. Done.
It's a form fillable PDF and they made that box take a picture. They just didn't add it to the PDF you download. I can understand not prioritizing adding a picture to the PDF that you already uploaded to them.
I uploaded a jpeg the other day and had a similar problem. I quickly realized the problem was my pic was slightly larger than the system accepts. While default pics are up to 256x256 pixels, uploaded pics are limited to 150x150. When i reduced the pic size, it uploaded no problem.
The small character portrait on the main page is ... okay ... but I agree it would be nice to be able to add a larger .jpg image in the appearance section of the app so I could show it to my team or DM in play rather than having to open another app up to a link to my Google drive.
Not really a deal-breaker, just a nice feature that I think many folks would enjoy. A lot of us D&D players are also artists and being able to have that added outlet to share our art might be nice.

The problem is storage. If they remove image uploading constraints, their servers will have to store several terabytes more data.
They could let us embed images hosted elsewhere like they do for forum posts.
Yeah, and I thought about mentioning that, but 1) I wasn't even sure we couldn't already do that or at least post a link, and 2) the thread is about uploading from your computer.

I usually stick a link to the heroforge for my PC in the description. I always use the website, so it’s easy to highlight and “Paste & Go” from there, but it doesn’t work in the app. (I checked.)
Computer, app, intermediary hosting site…. Sticking an image in the description part of the character sheet is sticking an image in the description part of the character sheet as far as I’m concerned. 🤷♂️ I doubt the process is nearly as relevant to the thread as the end result.

Thanks
You can!
That image is only for the online character sheet though - it doesn't get added to the exported PDF.

I know about that portrait image, it's the other one that I would like to be able to upload.
What other image besides the portrait?
The backdrop? Does that even export?
I think he means the portrait on the PDF on the 2nd (?) sheet.
Yes, the portrait on the 2nd sheet. What's the point of that section if you can't save the image as part of the profile.
It can't be that difficult to add that since uploading of custom profile pics is supported.
Nothing happens when I try and upload a portrait. I click on Choose File and nothing happens, no new dialog box appears. Please help!

well it is now 11/2021 and this is still not a functional item. Not prioritizing it is one thing, this is.... well.... how to say this nicely......
can't so will leave it this.

Totally not a big deal at all? Couldn't agree more.
Every time my group levels up i print new sheets off for them and put the pictures in, takes barely a moment of my time. :)
Not only not the point, but also relevant to you. Opinion noted.

i have my own problem is there a way to insert an image from my storage?
