I'm all for this. It would be great if DM could set up campaign with pre-made character sheet and then assign or share them with the group. Basically, drag and drop from DMs characters into the Campaign to help keep it organized, etc.
This is actually already possible. If you use the same link you send your players to join a campaign module you'll be able to create OR add a preexisting character to the module. You can then unassign your character from you. The character will be in the campaign module and will have an option for any player to assign themselves to it. When they do assign themselves to the character however, you will lose technical access to it (you won't be able to find it under 'my characters' it will technically be their character and it will count as one of their characters in the instance that they don't have a sub and can only have 5 characters.)
the ability to allow DMs in a campaign to add a character himself - cause not every campaign is a campaign but a way to create and archive characters for players only.

Well, it isn't “drag-n-drop” easy, but a DM can either copy the same link that they would send to players into their own browser's address bar and the will be directed to the same page and given the same option to import an existing character.
Although, an “add character(s)” button that just took you to the right page would be swell. It really shouldn't be that difficult, it's a picture of a button with an embedded hyperlink. I know they have to program for display compatibility all the way from massive wall mounted monitors all the way down to our phones which have multiple display orientations that have to be accounted for. But I mean, there's gotta be room on the display for a button somewhere. Now the fancier part would be if the DM could batch add characters. That would be some bonus XP right there.
Also, from the campaign page itself, a DM (or player) can “create unassigned character” directly in the campaign. The upside for a DM is if they plan to pass them out to the group they are created “unassigned” so that's one less step you have to take per character so your players can claim them. The downside is it can be very unfortunate if you didn't want to share it and forget to claim them before a Player sees it!

This is already possible: copy the campaign link, post the link in the url of a browser tab and hit return.
Personally, I would love the ability to organize my characters into folders. I often have 5 or six builds that are all related and being able to categories them as such would be amazing,
What about archetypes from the players handbook that aren't on here, for example one of my party members is making a warlock and he can only pick one of the three patron options that are in the players handbook.
This goes with the same reply from @IamSposta. In order to access anything not in the SRD from WotC (which is what you have access to on here for free) you have to purchase it from the marketplace on here.
Here's one that just came up for us. In our current ToA campaign we are using the variant encumbrance rules to try to keep weight of gear carried to a more reasonable level. One of the characters has a bag of holding, but there is no way to notate which items are in it. It would be great if we had a way to add items to a bag of holding and have both the adventurer's encumbrance and the bag of holding's content calculated correctly. Of course, there is the question of how to account for two bags of holding...
I want a feature for homebrew that one could use prior to publication. One would select “playtest” and it would do a soft publication subject to change that could be edited. And then, when all the playtesting is over (requiring a minimum of 90 days and an edits log) it could be published “certified playtested” and if people publishe without going through that process then it would get published “unplaytested.”
Then there could be a toggle for it in the search function for the homebrew section so a user could choose to only search through things that have been specifically playtested and edited.
I would love to see a modular DM screen, with the ability to show condensed character sheets for all PC in a campaign. As well as pulling references and information from the books and content owned by the DMs account.
Player, Campaign and DM Journals.
A map viewer, with the ability to place pins with information. Many overworld maps are very large and can be cumbersome. I use a 3rd party website that allows me to do so, but I would love to see such a feature on DDB.
To be able use the UA content that was taken out, like the sorcery bloodlines.
Due to an agreement between WotC and DDB, if UA content is archived, it is no longer supported and is removed from the site. Us here on the client side don't know the details of the agreement, only that if WotC says get rid of it, Beyond has to get rid of it.

I want to make characters using sub classes from Xanathar's guide to everything. and if you already can could you tell me how.
You have to purchase either that book, or at least those subclasses from this website.

No. The Basic Rules & SRD are free, as are the contents of the Elemental Evil Players’ Companion. The PHB Is not free.

On the character sheet under “Notes” there is an “other” section intended for stuff like the player’s/PC’s journal.
