I have an idea about reverse if age, but can’t seem to figure out how to do it. I only want to do it once, and the only way I found out is through clone. I already am too far into my current class to go for that, and necromancy is illegal in the campaign I’m in, and it is super expensive. Any ideas?
I don’t think there anything in RAW about it. You might talk to your DM about homebrewing an artifact of spell.
Edit: I stand Corre, there are ways in RAW if you’re more creative than I was being. Though I do stand by the homebrew option. You’ll need DM buy-in no matter what.
A sphinx can deage creatures in their lair. There is also the epic boon of immorality to stop you from aging, though getting it before level 21 is up to DM.
You can always use a Wish spell, but that is just inciting the DM to roll your age back further than intended or to roll back your mind and soul as well, so you become a much lower level character with none of the knowledge you’ve gained over however many years of your life.
Otherwise, there are any number of deities, chronology wizards that might be inclined to experiment, etc. that could possibly accomplish what you want. You’ll probably pay some kind of price, even if not in gold.
I believe the 9th level spell True Polymorph could work. If it completes successfully, the target becomes the polymorphed form in every way, including stats. So paying an appropriate caster to "make you the younger you" should work.

Just wish to cast clone at that point. 0% chance of any drawbacks.
I don't know why you would want to De-Age, but there's a million ways to do it outside of official PC choices. The characters are designed to exist in a magical world, so a fountain of youth, a god of youth, a god of mercy, fairy magic, blessings, epic feats, end game spells.
Even the official ways are typically accessible without your own ability, if your a valuable and effective adventurer, just find the nearest temple or Mage Guild and bargain with them for youth.

The clone takes 120 days to reach its maturity. You might be able to convince your DM that he, she, or they should prorate that day count some if you are making your clone younger than you (i.e. 60 days to make a clone half your age), but that’s up to the DM - the DM could easily just say “it needs 120 days to be ready to accept your soul, regardless of the clone’s desired physical age.
Depending on how quickly you want or need to accomplish your ends, waiting a third of a year for an effect could be a pretty big drawback.

HOW LONG CAN DND DRAG OUT!?!?! I KNEW IT WAS FOR A LONG TIME! I KNEW IT COULD TAKE YEARS! BUT 120 DAYS JUST TO FINISH MAKING A CLONE!?!?! THAT SEEMS EXCESSIVE!

A clone is a form of immortality - upon death, if you have a mature clone, your soul, memories, and knowledge are all transported to the new body. The 120 day prerequisite for maturity is so you can’t keep chaining clones, removing any risk associated with death. Also just general flavour - you have your little creepy tube body that has to grow before you can use it.

Well, OP said the only reason they weren't using clone is because they didn't have access to it in their class.

Calm down, that is less than 18 sessions. Maybe only 4 or 8 for some people. And you can have multiple clones going at a time.
If the solution you want isn't within the written sources, maybe it's time to consider discussing alternative options with the DM.

It pronounced Den Sake. It is not Japanese.
Website character sheet not working fix (Hopefully)
Semi-Expert at homebrew, just ask for my help.
Bargaining with a hag might allow you to obtain a youth elixir, similar to:
the one found in the Old Bonegrinder in Curse of Strahd.
But a bargain with a hag might be expensive in another sense.

Clone is a spell that can be cast on another creature. So you don't need to learn it, you just need to find someone who knows it.
