At level 1 (mostly to discourage the variant human) I give everyone a feat. I just bought the legendary package, and don't know how I would add that.. Help?
Right now not possible. Should be possible with release of character sheet revamp expected sometime in the next two weeks. For now, work around is to create a magic item that duplicates the feat mechanics
Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
Selfishness pure and simple. I personally dislike a full or mostly-human party, but they are usually the best race for anything you want to do. I just think it is better to have a diverse party, and in introducing this rule we now have a party that consists of a single Human, an Aarakocra, a Goblin, a High-Elf, a Halfling, a Changeling, and a Dwarf.
I can confirm that the new character sheet, when it's deployed, does allow you to add more feats, languages (and many other things) outside of the standard rules. :)
The magic item might only technically add feats from the PHB but what I did is created a magic item and add the full text of the feat. Then I add it as bonuses for the magic item manually so if it adds attributes I added the attribute.
I found having the text was the main reason I wanted it but in most cases it wasn't a big deal to add the effects to the magic item.
Though I admit I'm still looking forward to the new sheet :)

I hope I am not overstepping, but I'm hyped and curious. You say you can add languages. Does that include custom languages? (If you're even allowed to answer....)
It's not my place to discuss any features that haven't been formally revealed, sorry!
Worst case scenario, I tell you guys all about a feature I think is cool, but there's some back-end issue I am not aware of that means the devs need to pull that feature before release - you'd all then be, "Hey, where is that feature?" to the devs, which would be unfair.
Oh yeah and there's an NDA. :)
That said, my character on the test environment does speak "Jibberish" ;)

Interesting, so are you saying there are new features coming with the character sheet revamp that hasn’t been announced? Interesting indeed. *breathing intensifies*

I created a subclass and added an extra feat.
Yeah, I ended up making either a Variant race, or subrace Variant for each with a choice feat as a racial bonus like the Variant human has.
why discourage v-human, out of curiosity?

You can create a magic item that grants a feat. Unfortunately it only grants PHB feats for some reason.

You know as a DM, you can make your own rules...
"For this campaign, there can be no more than 1 of each race in the party."
Voila... no need to bar the Variant Human sub-race.
