Edit: Turns out tables within <section> elements get hidden
I have a table in my homebrew subclass description but it doesn't show up when I go to the large view of the homebrew item even when it's the only thing in the description any ideas?
I hate to be the guy that complains a lot but dude it has been 5 years since this post. Its still not a thing. I guess everyone's just extremely busy.... Or there's no money to pay someone to do this. Idk how companies work but this is still surprising to me. I love this site but like for real? Fine just, keep making more packs of dice I guess.
I've since found out that I can just copy and paste chunks out of Excel spreadsheets in to D&D Beyond text boxes. This has made things an awful lot easier 😁
I s'pose that's one way. Having made tables in Google Docs 10 minutes ago, that system would be amazing for this site. You choose the amount of rows and columns out of a little drop down menu, it would be just like all the tools found right above when you are making a post. Idk if they can steal that, but if they can, they need to.
If you don't want to learn HTML I found this site as a very useful solution to how to make a table. Though I do agree that if this is this simple it feels like something the devs could make a button do.
How do we add more columns and such to the table? I'm looking to add a structure like the Eldritch Knight table but when I copy and paste it doesn't add as a table, just a long line to text?
Basic Table structure and styling would be a very useful tool in the campaign and homebrew sections. Sure it's easy to add an HTML table but the downside is that your main page styles just totally overwrite and formatting that is included in the HTML tags which results in ugly tables.
This code makes 2 columns of alternating black and white rows-looks exactly like it does on official content. I got this by copying a table from Cleric Life Domain, then removing all text.
Hmm... Let's see if this works. If it does I'll edit in the code used.
Name
Rarity
Description
Sharpened Weapon
Uncommon
Weapons imbued with this enchantment gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls.
Burning Weapon
Uncommon
Weapons imbued with this enchantment deal an extra 1d6 fire damage on a hit.
Blessed Weapon
Rare
Weapons imbued with this enchantment deal an extra 1d6 radiant damage on a hit.
It looked great in the edit box but after posted it forces a table style whether you want it to or not so it removed things like borders and spacing. I don't know if this is a forum thing. Here's the HTML used anyway.
Thanks. This helped me a lot.
Btw, will a "add table" function be added in the future?
Go back into the source code and delete the text dealing with Table.
Bossting this for the devs.
So, what does each part of this string of code correspond to on the table?
Here's a primer on HTML tables:

Thank you very much for sharing that hint. It will make creating tables so much easier for me.

Any news on adding a editor button for tables?

If you want a table type this into code
<table class="compendium-left-aligned-table">
<thead>
<tr>
<th> </th>
<th> </th>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<tr>
<td> </td>
<td> </td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td> </td>
<td> </td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td> </td>
<td> </td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td> </td>
<td> </td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td> </td>
<td> </td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
Copied this block in its entirety pasted it in to my project and now displaying as html rather than actual table data. ?!?!

Tried that today, didn't work at all.
Did you paste into the page source using the Source Code button?
