It doesn’t matter who is DM, who has the subscription, or who has the books, if it’s turn on then everything gets shared with everyone. I am only currently in campaigns where I am the one enabling content sharing, whether as DM or Player. It honestly might look different then.
I know this is an older post but applies to what I'm looking for - I am a master tier subscriber and usually share my own, but another player in a campaign has shared theirs. I can see in content management that its shared/permitted in the campaign but don't know how to go in and look at it. I've looked in my own content to see if maybe it can be viewed through there, but no. I've tried clicking on the item in the list I want to see - they are sharing the Against the Giants module and I don't know how they got it but am interested in looking at it but am not sure how to view it.
No matter who supplies the content, or who provides the content sharing, once the content is shared only the DM can see the whole list when they manage that specific campaign.
As a player I'd be able to see it though or should? And if so how do I see it. I can see the list but can't open the content to view it. where do I go to actually see past the cover? And Thank you - I don't know if its a bug on my acct or I'm doing it wrong.
And all of the specific content (Class/Subclasses, Races/Subraces/Variants, Backgrounds, Feats, Spells, Magic Items, Equipment, Monsters) by checking the relevant rules section. Click/Tap the “Game Rules subheading located at the top of every page on DDB.
And, they will also all be viewable in the Character Builder.
But they don’t appear there which is what I was expecting. For instance they are sharing a module called against the giants and it doesn’t show in my sources. They have it shared on the list as well as others I don’t personally own but I am unable to see them. If that is how it is supposed to work, there’s probably something wrong with my acct. I just wasn’t sure if I was doing it wrong

If they are sharing it and it isn't blocked from reading, you can find it under sources as one of the Tales from the Yawning Portal modules.
Umm.... So I understand all of this, but I have a problem: So, our DM recently got all of the books, and are sharing them with the party. I managed to find the list of the stuff shared, and when I went to go view the PHB, it only showed me the chapter list. Nothing else. Am I doing something wrong?
Is there a way to see which player is sharing which content? On the content management list, I see all the sourcebooks and adventures, but I think it would be easier to know who owns what. Is that possible?
I want to know this too, I am sharing my content but when I go in to the content management there are things in there that I don't own and I do not know where they are coming from. :-/
I have had to block some content that I don't want in my campaign like UA.

They are coming from the other players in your campaign. When sharing is turned on, all content anyone in the campaign has purchased is shared. You can turn off access to the compendiums, but not to the character options. That said, UA material is not available as character options on the site.
Hope I'm not detracting from this thread, but I still have questions on content sharing.
I'm creating Homebrew all over the place, including monsters and NPC's (as monsters) and I'm wondering if my players can view them. I'm concerned that all they have to do is search by author. (I've gone ahead and submitted one monster as public and the rest remain private, but I'm still checking.)
The reason I'm still confused is because:
I need them to be able to view homebrew subclass and spell content
I do not want them to view homebrew monsters I create.
Or, is there a way to turn this on and off individually?
Thanks in advance. My apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere.

How do I find out what content is being shared by the people in the campaign I am participating in?
Click here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/my-campaigns, and then find that campaign. “View” the campaign and then click/tap “content management.”

So if there is no content management link then does that mean that nothing is being shared between the DM and the players?

No, once content sharing has been activated, the only person who can see the list is the DM.

Maybe I don’t understand. I don’t want to see the list I want to know how to see the content they are sharing. All I can see is the list.
My apologies.
You can read any sourcebooks or adventures being shared with you by simply viewing them:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources
And all of the specific content (Class/Subclasses, Races/Subraces/Variants, Backgrounds, Feats, Spells, Magic Items, Equipment, Monsters) by checking the relevant rules section. Click/Tap the “Game Rules subheading located at the top of every page on DDB.

Don't know if it'll help, but it can't hurt to check your account is in sync:
Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
If they are sharing it and it isn't blocked from reading, you can find it under sources as one of the Tales from the Yawning Portal modules.

Nevermind, figured it out.
When you look at a "book" like the PHB: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/phb
You will see the table of contents. You should be able to click on a chapter / section and it will take you there.
The book are not like an e-reader, they are linked webpages instead.
