This is awesome! Is there any plan to denote what items are carried on a mount?
As it stands now, it looks like I'm carrying my axebeak, his saddle, saddlebags, their contents, etc. Would be great to have that as a standalone attachment, either under the equipment or extras menu?

I may be missing it, so apologies if its already been answered or figured out. Is there a way to make custom containers, like new magical backpacks or homebrewed bags of holding?
Will there be a possibility to create containers that can be assigned to certain players, as to create a shared container? For example the party has a cart where they keep certain items, and it'd be an amazing feature if the DM can create and assign certain players who can view and change the contents of said cart. And if one player takes something out from this cart, it updates automatically for the other players.
This is a great start and I am really happy it has come down the line. Thank you for continuing to improve the functionality of the site.
I noticed a bug in the new inventory system and thought it should be called to attention. When you are customizing the names of items in bags, it shows up the quickest if you customize several in the same bag in a row, sometimes the clicking the arrow for customize shuts the sidebar instead of opening the customize. I have had it do this as much as twenty times in a row and it gets really boring opening the side tab and praying to the gods of D&D this time it will allow me to customize the name of the item.
Pretty sure it just unequips the item and makes them unattuned
I should hope not - unequipping an item should not end attunement, per RAW ("A creatureās attunement to an item ends if the creature no longer satisfies the prerequisites for attunement, if the item has been more than 100 feet away for at least 24 hours, if the creature dies, or if another creature attunes to the item. A creature can also voluntarily end attunement by spending another short rest focused on the item, unless the item is cursed."). The fact that unequipping an item currently ends attunement is actually an error in implementation on the character sheet that has been pointed out by folks in the past.
Nullifying weight and adding custom items to containers is what would assist greatly with the inventory management features.
Thanks for working on all of this. I've been looking forward to being able to separate my bag of holding inventory from my backpack, medium cart, saddlebags... etc.
Even putting a container like a barrel into a cart would be helpful.
Thank you again and I look forward to the next phases!
Noticed this feature when I logged in tonight to add a custom item to a character and thought wow, awesome. Just a little confusion for me. The component pouch is now a container that you can add stuff into. Are there any plans to add standard components in there so that a saddo realist such as myself could track components or is it just going to be for adding custom/specific components in?

The sidebar closed on me a few times when I had a sidebar open for a container, and clicked the arrow to the right of Add Items.

I have a Heward's Handy Haversack. Will it account for having the 3 separate areas in a later update?
A general comment on Backpacks and other backpack-like containers: in my own accounting I consider the "outside" of a Backpack to be its own container, since you can explicitly strap bedrolls and rope etc. to the outside, and taking off the backpack removes their weight as well.
Do you plan to have Scroll/Map Cases count as containers?
Edit: Forgot to say, this feature is cool and I'm glad you've started implementing it!
I'm hoping that when we get the update for some containers being able to zero-out the weight of their contents, that there will be a checkbox for it in Customize, so we choose whether a container will zero-weight its contents or not. As an example, currently I'm using my Heward's Handy Haversack as the container for the items on its exterior (so they'd still have weight) but customized 3 Baskets to serve as the left/center/right pouches, which should zero-out their content weight.

Any Plans to add a way to add coins to a container for those that track coin weight? [dragon hordes require several Bags of Holding when tracking coin weight]

You can make the sidebar fixed by clicking the button on the top of the sidebar:
Why is everyone talking this up. Worse than an Alpha release with way to many issues .
No weight limits on containersš”. Containers do not give total weight of contents in themš”. Custom items can not be added to containersš”. Extra dimension bags add total weight of contents to encumbrance š”. Coins can not be added to containers š”. No stronghold container for items stored there š”. All this should of been basic functionality.
They would have been better off waiting for containers to be fully functional because as it is now achieves nothing. We still need to do all the hard parts to track encumbrance and how much space is available in each container. There was nothing to brag about with this release it is just a half arsed disappointment.
I don't care that they are working on shared inventory I want working containers for an individual sheet that does the math to manage space and encumbrance, I don't give a rats about shared inventory until individual inventory works.
I am really happy about this and really anticipate the next phases. In the meantime I wanted to mention that the Robe of many useful items seems to be counted as a Container. Is this intentional, and if yes, I would like to agree with someone who wrote earlier about possibly giving the option to let a Container appear as an item instead of an additional window. Otherwise, a great start from my pov and cant wait for what comes next :D
Not entirely related to this feature, but could the official backgrounds that include a belt pouch in starting equipment start adding an actual belt pouch to our equipment?

Will there be a way to remove the weight of items added to haversacks and bags of holding etc. in bulk?
While I'm not sure of the future scope of this feature, I can suggest a workaround in the interim; you can set the weight of a container to negative which will offset the weight of the items within. So say you have a bag of holding (which always weighs 15lb) and you put in 100lb of stuff. Override the weight to -85lb and presto container, you've got a 'weightless' bag of holding.
I thought one of the main parts of the program was to eliminate the need for us to do the math.
Seems like a I have an idea and then they implemented it without any follow through on thought. Next the back peddle and the removal or the wait we'll get around to that at some point (provably in 3-5 years from now) So Typical.

Step 1 - allow items to be marked as stored in containers, and arrange the items in the sheet to show this - DONE
Step 2+ - all your "issues", which are simply further enhancements to build on this first iteration. (It's easier to count the weight in a container when all the items are listed under the name of the container).
One thing I gotta say would be nice: When I click/tap āHide Contents,ā if they would stay hidden instead of re-expanding the second I refresh the page or something.

Would you buy a car without an engine with the vague indication you may get parts of it in the future but push it around manually while you wait for the engine. This is what you are accepting with step 2.

Is there a way to move custom items added from the Equipment tab in Manage inventory to other containers?
Or an "add custom item in every container will be a nice feature to have too.
