one of my players recently struck a deal with a (seems like a Dwarf woman to him) she saw him when he got transported to the abyss for just a split second. and she called to him from a dream and he agreed to take her power (her end goal is to try and escape from the abyss) so i am looking to create a fiend like class his main class is fighter. and he chose to go to LVL 2 in fiend so what would be some cool features and abilities.
yeah i thought of that but its not like a patron bond this woman isn't that powerful. maybe one day she will be if there deal goes in that direction. right now i have him have advance on saves to role agains fire type damage. and he is more sucesible to radiant damage not full vulnerable where he takes half as much more damage but maybe a 1/3 more
If she's powerful enough to call on someone from the abyss and can transfer (a portion) of her power, then she can be a patron. Warlock, pact of the Fiend is very fitting. Certainly no new classes needed, which will vastly reduce the confusion that this homebrew might cause.

In addition, you say she "seems like a dwarf woman to him, " implying that she is *not* in fact a dwarf woman, and could be some lesser devil (or otherwise planar being) in which case they'd definitely be able to bestow a pact. There are no hard and fast rules for who a patron can be. I had an idea for a celestial Warlock who's patron was a lesser celestial who'd been wounded and hunted through the planar system, and actually took refuge within the actual soul of the character, and the power the Warlock got from their pact represented *all* of the power the celestial could provide (which grows as the celestial gradually heals).
Long story short, you don't have to be an arch-devil to bestow power on a mortal.
It always blows my mind how rigid people are about warlock flavor. OP would rather create a whole new class than just have a warlock without a patron.
Warlock is just a collection of features and spells, and none of the mechanics actually have anything to do with the patron. Just drop it and say the powers came from an experience rather than a patron.

Not for nothing, but this is pretty much the textbook definition of the Warlock class. Maybe give him a level in that.
