but why would you want a 1/3rd caster though ? wouldn'T that make the warlock a half caster since its already having spell slots. i mean this just makes the warlock better, i get it, but isn't that making it way better, like too much ? i mean, a warlock caster with added short rest spell slots is uber strong. and thats coming from a guy who always play sorcerer warlock. that multiclass option gives tyou easily the impression of always having spells, like i can cast spells all the time and never really need long rest.
if anything, i get that higher levels are bad with the single 6,7,8 and 9 spell slot compared to others... but 1/3rd caster do not solve that, it only makes the lower levels even better then they already are.

I think they're asking for a way to create a subclass that can access warlock 1/3 spellcasting like how the Blood Hunter Profane Soul order works, something akin to the Eldritch Knight and Arcane Trickster and how they relate to wizard

Exactly. I have a couple subclasses rolling around in my grapefruit that I cannot build because we can not add a properly functioning “pact magic” feature to a Fighter or Rogue subclass.

i understood that, but thats the problem i have with it. why make the warlock a 3rd caster when its already a caster ? i mean, i think people just want the warlock to be a full caster with invocations and all. trick is... up until level 6 or 10, the warlock is already pretty god damn good. i think making him a 3rd caster only further the fact that warlock is already strong as is and that a person just wanna make him stronger.
so my question remains... why would a warlock need an archetype that ust further in his already awesome spellcasting capabilities ?

I wrote a Four Elements subclass for the monk and it uses spell slots. It has the same spell progression as a 1/3 pact magic spellcaster. I want to transfer it to DDB. It, in no way, is a warlock. Just like the Eldritch Knight and the Arcane Trickster are not just wizards, the homebrew we want to make with the 1/3 pact magic are not just warlocks.

Not a Warlock Archetype. We want to make a Fighter/Rogue subclass like Eldritch Knight or Arcane Trickster that uses “Pact Magic” instead of “Spellcasting.”

I wasn’t talking about a warlock archetype, but a subclass for an different class. You should check out the Order of the Profane Soul.

Because it would be cool. I have actually written four separate prototypes and cannot implement them on DDB because of the wonky interaction between Spellcasting and Pact Magic. I would love to though because I thing they would be fun to playtest.
But if you (or anyone else) wish(es) to discuss the relative merits and flaws of the idea further, I suggest the conversation move to a new thread in the homebrew forum as that conversation would be inappropriate in this thread.
not sure if this counts but i've been needing it more and more. an insert table option. either as part of the text editor or as a field, yes i know you can use HTML to make tables but it would be very useful to be able to have the table that can be rolled on on the character sheet as well! plus not everyone knows html.
We technically can, we just have to recreate them from scratch as Options attaches to the Feature. That’s the same way they did it for the Champion’s subclass feature. You can make a homebrew using that subclass as a template and see for yourself how they did it for all of the details.
I agree with you though, just having it as a modifier would be simpler for homebrewing.
Create Items from scratch or at least change the base item's stats. (I.E. Damage die, weight, reach, etc.) Sometimes I want to make an item that is in no way like it's base counterpart or does not have a base to go off of. One example: A player of mine stole a cannon, a swivel cannon from a ship they raided, and mounted it to our barbarians shoulder. The barbarian now has a ship cannon that has been enchanted to fire grape-shot once per day and does 2d20 base damage. There is no way to make something like this in DNDBeyond and we are trying to go full paperless. Yeah I know that I can have him add it to his notes but it would be so much cooler if I could just say, "Hey, I added the shoulder cannon to your inventory. Refresh the page it should be there."
I don't know the technical stuff it would take to make something like this happen, but I would love to see it become a feature at some point.

You could make cannon as a Wondrous Item with plain txt and add it as a Custom Action directly to their character sheet.
Thanks. I realize this and have already done so. This forum is for suggesting new features and I am just making my suggestion.
I get that. I never said word one about the suggestion itself. I only offered a way under the current structure with which to most closely approximate what you want. I never said you were wrong, I just suggested a workaround in the meantime. If that offends you I apologize and promise to never do it again.
Edit: Actually I cannot promise that. I honestly won’t remember your user name and I try to help everyone. Sorry.
the one thing i don't like is the idea of guns being way too powerful compared to blades... blades are as lethal as guns are. its just that you need to be closer for them to work. in my current western campaign, we have made guns 1 die higher only. so basically they are better then blade weapons and all, but they also have to be reloaded. they also don't have different atributes. they either hit 1 or multiple targets. have mid range or far range. that's pretty much it. so its normal to give them something else. but i think doubling the dice was way too much. so yeah, i would definitely want to create basic weapons on my own.
the other thing i hate is that we can only make them in the custom action. where such a weapon would definitely be in the attack section. which is honestly, bad to have to scroll down the whole page just to make a single attack when you consider all other attacks are at the top.

I think we've been asking for Ranged Weapons for a couple years. Honestly, my own kanban board has never had something on it for this long.
