Is there a way to remove the restrictions of an armour's weight class?
I'm trying to make a Light Armour that gives 16 + Dex mod (max of 2) (plus some attunement blah). The problem is, Light Armours don't cap the Dex mod and Medium Armours are, well, not Light Armour.
I am trying to make an item for my campaign and I am not sure how to best get stats accurately reflected on my player's sheet. I made a Kitsune race and as a part of it I made it an automatic that their tails effectively are an attuned item that is personalized and grows with them on their journey. The player that chose to play as a Kitsune is a warlock, so I am generally tying his tails to his mastery of his magic and a personal quest he has to learn the true names of various spirits. Because of this the general bonus I am giving him is to learn more spells, but I still want him to be using his class spell slots to cast them with his own personal save DC and spell attack modifiers. Is there any way to do this?
It's been awhile since I've asked about this but is there a way to have a cantrip gain the bonuses from agonizing blast/eldritch spear? If so, just curious how to do so because I've been working on updating my EB alternatives and was wondering if this was something that's change to allow this.
I've tried playing around with getting the "Eldritch Blast Bonus Damage" and "Eldritch Blast Bonus Range" modifier types to no avail for this.
couldn't find it in the "item guide" that's why im asking here.
Is it possible to auto recharge used charges of magic items when i press the long rest button for example?
Let's say i create an Amulett that has 5 charges and regains 1d4+1 each long rest. Can i automate that? So that DnD Beyond auto rolls a d4+1 and gives me the charges back. Like with the HP of the characters.

I hope you guys know what i mean.
No. Officially, there are no magic items that refresh charges on a rest, they all refresh at “dawn” and there is no “dawn button.” There are magic items that refresh “uses” on a rest, but DDB has not yet added “actions” to o magic items so they had to code that as “charges.” Technically, “short rests” and “long rest” should not even be options for charges.
Additionally, there is no way for the character sheet to automate the 1d4+1, so it cannot be automated to add what it cannot even calculate.
Hello. So I've been having a bit of problem, and I was wondering if someone on here could help me sort this out. I made a homebrew race, and when I tried to make a test character with it (just to see if it worked), some of the features I gave the race didn't show up on the character sheet. Like, my race was supposed to give a plus 2 to strength, and a plus 1 to intelligence and wisdom, but when I checked the ability scores, they said that there was no racial bonus to those stats. It also said that my character didn't know any languages, when the race was supposed to give you the ability to speak common and draconic. I was wondering if this is a bug in the system, if this is a new found problem of some sort, or (the most likely anwser in my opinion, but that's just my self hating butt) if this is me doing something wrong.

Did you add those things as modifiers, or just in the descriptions? If you only entered it into the descriptions, then you will need to add the appropriate modifiers to those features such as
That modifier is what will increase the Str by +2.
Or Modifier: Language->Subtype: Draconic
That modifier is what will add the Draconic language to your Race.
After you save those modifiers, you must then re-save the entire homebrewed race using the main “SAVE CHANGES” button under “Basic Information.” That is what triggers the system to pick up your changes.
After saving the whole Homebrew, it can then take up to 20 minutes for those changes to push through to the Character Sheet.
Q: I created a variant of an existing monster and it was rejected - why is that? A: Ensure that the monster has significant enough changes to warrant a new statblock and doesn't contain minor adjustments (such as changing the name of a single trait or giving it a different weapon).
I'm sure this has been asked and answered somewhere on the forums, but what constitutes "Significant enough" changes?
I'm trying to understand the Terms of Service.....
I own a WotC book. But I don't own it on DnD Beyond. Can I create a custom feat/spell/etc from the physical copy and share it with my players in my private campaign?

thanks,
yes, you can homebrew such things and they will be shared. You cannot, however, publish them. (Homebrew does not need to be published to be shared in a campaign)

I can confirm that this is correct.

That's what I thought, but people are telling me no. Looking for a rep or someone to answer....thanks though!
This has been stated by the team multiple times. But here's the technical bits: 1. You can create whatever you want if it's private homebrew. If you don't share it, only you see it and it's personal use. You're not infringing anything. 2. If you have content sharing on in your campaign, private homebrew is also shared and everyone in the campaign can use it.
Is homebrew turned on for the character?

Make it as light armor and add the following:

How do I create Damage Reduction on a newly created Homebrew Magical Item?
Damage Reduction is not a D&D 5E mechanic.

When the classes feature comes out, will we be able to make a custom level scale, for example giving it ability imporvements at level 5 instead of 6?
It is done.

Thanks! I'll just say, those guidelines don't talk about private homebrew at all....so it isn't as clear as it could be, imo.
