How do I make my subraces show up under one race in the character builder?
Presuming the parent race is also homebrew, you can’t currently. Closest you can come is to name the subraces by listing the parent race name first. For example, Sprite:Forest and Sprite:Tundra
I am creating some magic items for a campaign I am running using a "adjustable dc" and "more magic magic items" ideas I found on reddit. I am trying to add actions to an amulet, so I created a homebrew feat to handle it but for some reason I cannot add a homebrew feat under modifiers>feat on the magic item "amulet". Am I missing something or is it not possible to "pile" homebrew items together?
Example of item > It is an amulet of the goddess Selûne, while holding it in your hand you can pray to Selûne for guidance and it will emit light light a lantern. It can also be used as a once per long rest heal spell focus. I made a feat that offers both of those as actions, and I am trying to add that to the magic item. I cannot add actions directly to a magic item for some reason so this is how I figured to get around it.

Thank you for answering this, so I know I'm not doing something wrong.
The fact that this doesn't work, this many years into DDB homebrew being available, is...infuriating.
Is there a way to change the initiative of a creature? I'm making a scout elf that can add it's proficiency bonus to it's initiative, but I can't find any way to do that, it seems to auto-calculate with the dexterity modifier.
Anyone know of a way to make a homebrew item that would be entirely new? Have some weapons in my setting that have no equivalents in the listed weapons (A 2d12 ranged weapon has no way to be made as far as I know)
Is it possible to make a magic item with an effect that would damage the user in D&D Beyond? I'm trying to built an Izzet inspired gauntlet that would deal the wearer 1d6 electric damage every time it is activated (or just a flat 3 damage) to do 3d6 damage, but as far as I can tell, damaging the user is not an option. Am I missing something or am I just building something that is unsupported?
could i get help? whenever i try to make a 2nd race trait it doesnt save and i cant see it the only one i can see is the first one i made
When you make the trait, does it not show up on the page for the race, or on a character that you applied the race to? There is a few hours of lag between making changes to homebrew content you've published out and it showing up in "production".
What font and size does D&D beyond use normally for spell body text? I'm trying to copy and paste stuff in, but the font doesn't match the base look.
EDIT: Inspect Element seems to show that it is using 13 pt. Roboto, Helvetica, sans-serif (at least for Bless). However, neither of these options work. There is a Helvetica, but I'm uncertain as to how similar it is to the one used. Additionally, I don't have the option to choose 13 pt ft (12 and 14 are options).
EDIT2: So it seems like the editor Helvetica is Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; and when set to be size 14 on the editor displays as size 12 on the sheet.
EDIT3: And the standard size for the character builder is 14 :(
I'm trying to create Special NPC enemies (which will be played by other players) for a Level 20 Campaign and I need to be able to replicate weapons like a Balor's sword which does 3d8 Damage but also need to give it the properties of a vorpal blade as well as it's 3d8 lightning damage.
Can this be accomplished with the current tools available? I Tried several different ways but I can only make a clone of a vorpal longsword and add flavor text. Nothing actually functional from a click and roll standpoint.
Is there any way to actually make a truly Custom Weapon/Artifact without having to follow one of the cookie cutter templates? If this is not currently available where can I petition or suggest that this capability be added?

Short answer: “No.”
It is entirely possible to add the additional damage to the weapon, but the character sheet is not yet capable of combining those various damages into a single clickable roll for the Dice Roller. (We still have to track and roll some things for ourselves for the time being.)
It's been awhile since I've needed to ask for help on something, but I'm not finding a way to replace this effect;
"You ignore to loading property on ranged weapons that you are proficient with and when you hit with a ranged attack, you gain a +1 bonus to the damage roll."
I know there's the ignore weapon property I can use for the first part, but I'm spacing on how I add the +1 to range weapon damage or is this one of those things that can't be done?
So I'm trying to give a feature a number of options (cantrips to choose from specifically). I've specified that at level 1 you can choose 2 cantrips, as well as putting in the higher levels where you can choose again, and all my feature options are filled in w/their respective spells. My trouble here is that when I go back into the character builder only 1 option is displayed with a single cantrip to choose from in it (when it should have two options with the full list to start). Am I missing something, or is this just a case of the site not keeping up with how quickly I'm making changes?
Edit: I got the full list to appear, but still struggling to get multiple options to show at level 1. And I realized it keeps removing the specified levels for getting to choose options. Trying to set it at 1,1,4,10 and when I go back in, it's kicking it down to 1,4.
Thank you

No, unfortunately you can’t alter the base damage die type of a weapon, though you can add a Damage: Additional Points: 1d12 to something.

I thought so. Thanks for the confirmation.
is there a way to make an ability do a table like the wild magic barbarian sub class or do i need to do the table myself?
You can copy and paste a table from such a page.
